I'm having the worst time with the 400F. I had no real problem with the PAX version but the Cargo version is another story. Of all the issues I've been having (VC framerates, etc) now I'm finding the sim crashing to desktop after programming the FMC and begin taxing down the runway... I've tested the sim crashing problem with all my other add-ons, there's no problem with them but the 400F is now shutting my sim down cold...

Hi,I have a problem with my PMDG 737-700 aircraft when using FS Passengers. After buying the current aircraft and loading it, I get a message saying "Missing Standard Decleration in Aircraft.cfg". Now by pressing the "YES, correct this aircraft and fly with it" button, everything turns black and I get a CTD.I have tried the same with PMDG737-600/800/900 and the 747 family as well, and they all work great. It only seems to happening with the 737-700. Anyone have this problem, or know how to solve it?

Hi,it seems to me to have read somewhere in this forum that is possible to display circles on PD to evaluate distance for alternate airports.I read the same thing on a 777 boeing manual (real airplane) but now I can't find the message in the forum to know what I have to do to obtain this on 747.Thanks in advance and excuse me for my english.Maurizio Balvetti

Hi Captains,I use FS Flight Keeper. Both the Queen and FS FK make noises and unfortunatelly there are similar call-outs from both add-ons. So we are at least 3 pilots in the cabin...;-)Question 1: is there a fully detailed list of the 744' sounds available? I can't find it in the AOM and the forum.Question 2: Has anybody a list showing which sounds should be activated/deactivated in the 744's options and/or in the FS Flight Keeper settings to get the 3rd captain out of the cockpit?greets,Volker

Hi allI recently updated airac and sids/stars so that I could fly my favorite routes e.g. from eddm to egllThe problem that I am having is that on t/o the 747 just keeps flying rwy heading. I tried the suggestion of routing to the first fix on the sid with some success and the 747 turned to first fix. after that it failed to update to the next fixI am getting very frustrated particularly as it appeared to work ok with the original airac flying in the USA - sids were ok and all seemed to work as I expectedany suggestions?Colin

I re-size and drag the clock to a position on the 744 main panel, then save the flight. Hoever, the clock always goes back to the upper left window section when re-opening fs9. How can I move and lock the clock window into the position I want on the main panel?Thanks,

Captains!As was mentioned earlier this week, we found a technical weekness in our old download page area that was creating some long term health problems on the server. This is not specific to the QOTS but to fly a 747 across the pond one need to have a certain experience flying FS2004. So I came to you for help. My FS recently developed a very serious problem. Neither on my QOTS nor on LevelD's 767 (havent tested the rest of the planes) the various clickspots no longer seem to work.No matter what button I press on the QOTS panel selector I get no reaction. I can Shift-* the panel open but even then I have partial useability. Have any of you encountered this problem before. Does this point to a particular file I need to look at?Regards,Xander

I've been flying the pax version with no problems for awhile... but ever since downloading 400F 1.0 (I'm still downloading 1.1... SLOW!) and installing it neither my pax or cgo version will engage the autopilot. The autothrottle seems to work ok but I cannot get the lights on any of the 3 to light and engage. LNAV and VNAV are inop. I've checked the FMC and it looks fine.Pardon my use of on typical language but I'm a noob...

HI all,Sorry if this has been covered before - am a newbie to this site.I have just got the PMDG 737 800/900 package, which has quite frankly, blown me away how cool it is.But am most disappointed at the lack of an inflight save feature. Being a newbie to the locations of a switches in a more detailed cockpit, it takes me an hour or so to get from cold and dark to ready for flight, and if, as has happened once or twice, the PC freezes just as I am about to move, its frustrating.I know what the manual says "no saves possible" but has anyone in the big world created a patch that can do this?And if not, PMDG - YES, THERE IS "CUSTOMER INTEREST"!!!!ravey

Fellow 747-400F pilots. After reading page 3 of the Cruise & Planning document I noticed that the Maximum Zero Fuel Weight is 535,000 lb. The 747-400F Load Manages shows the max Zero Fuel Wt as 635,000 lb. Which one is correct? If I had to guess I'd go with the higher, but as I only play the part of a 747 pilot in FS I really don't know.

This is what Bill Bulfer says about a partial throttle descent:Using the thunbwheel (MPC), one can select a rate of descent that will maintain a constant angle. The throttles are kept slightly off the idle stops. The top-of-descent will occur earlier than the idle throttle descent technique because some power is used throughout the descent. The airplane is not in a power-off glide configuation. There is no significatant fuel savings between idle throttle and partial throttle decents especially if speed brakes are used during an idle throttle descent. I was just watching my old DVD of the ITVV B747-400 video with Don Grange over my holidays. I was just thinking if there was anyone out there who could do a DXT3 repaint of the PMDGB744? For better FPS for people like me as I run on a notebook computer. Hey I was also wondering about what you all said about that it was easy to convert high quality 32 Bit textures into DXT3 format. Just wondering does anyone know any good reading material or books about the 747-400(apart from the PMDG Manual :) ) Im looking for a history of the aircraft and about how it was made and maybe some technical details or diagrams. Im hoping to understand more about systems..im no longer satisfied by clicking buttons in the overhead panel and not knowing what it does or what systems are involved and how they work. I guess a lot of the information im looking for is not available to the average Joe Soap just wondering if anyone could help :)Cheers

This may have been brought up before but I didn't find it in a search. Is is possible to divide the forum by plane types like the PSS forums are. It would be easier to find the info you are looking for. I just got the 747 and 737 so I am on here a lot to figure things out now.

I'd like to build a small control box for some MCP functions, using an old USB controller, but all that the PMDG options allow are keystroke commands. I can use FSUIP to convert joystick button commands to the PMDG keystrokes, but is there any reference documentation of PMDG functions to FSUIP control codes, or is all pretty much propiatory?

With just the Queen PAX installed which I've had from day one, NO PROBLEM. Some general questions I have about the 747 pax after recently installing it.Q01) The cargo doors open with the cockpit cold and dark - is this realistic, shouldn't we need electrical or hydraulic power?Q02) From the VC you can't see the wing tips but I thought that the wing tips could just be viewed i.e. for taxiing - is this a limit of the visual model? Hi, As already mentioned, to get the lower display to work for the EICAS, i just needed to select the check box in the PMDG options to Over/Under. I did this and nothing happened to the lower display. It still appears black. Any ideas would be appreciated.David
