HelloI have a problem with the ND. Using KSAN as an example I have the VOR 27 or RNP 27 waypoints in the FMC and get the proper sequence of waypoinst for the runway.The problem that I can not understand is that these waypoint when I fly down the path ( it should be 272 degrees ) is actualy offset on the Navigational display about 10 to 15 Degrees !!!!I don't undestand why ?Any ideas ?Thank you for any help that can be provided.Hector Vildosola

Thanks to George and others I finally became interested in using the FMC and so forth. Why is it that when I create or import a flight plan (bought FSBuild) the FMC calculates the Top of Descent as do dang close to the arrival airport, such that the speedbrake needs to be actuated practically all the way to the ground? Strangely (to me, the uninformed) the default ATC starts your descent way way before the FMC's stepped descent. It's very easy to not be able to make the VNAV path and I'm wondering what I may be doing wrong, or not. Noel

Hi all,Recently I bought and watched the very nice ITVV VIR 744 DVD and was quite amazed at the quality of the recordings. With Aerowinx 744, PMDG 744/744F, Robert's new Type courses, ITVV VIR 747 Flight Cockpit Videos, airliners.net 747-400 photographs, etc etc this is a true 747-400 enthusiasts wet-dream come true! No other aeroplane on the face of the earth is more popular and prestigious, and no other has been modeled and recorded and written about to such details made easily aviable to the general hobbyist. hello alli love my pmdg, however, i am about to pull the last strand of hair out of my head........ here is my issuewhen i turn LNAV on on the ground, it easily finds the route i entered into the legs page...... but once im airborne and pass my first way point, it doesn't "uncheck" the way point i just passed...... it continues to my next way point great, but once my plane passes the second way point, it just turns the plane around and heades back to my still "checked" previous way point....... here is an example of what happenslets say i take off from KLAX and am going to my first way point, SLI then to my second, DAG....... the way point SLI will remain "checked" (im sa…

I fly the 737 using only 2D panels. I presently run the main panel on one monitor and the other panels on a second. I am considering expanding my system to incorporate two or three 19 inch monitors for the main panel using Matrox's TrippleHead2Go. I am concerned about the position of the besels in relation to the panel and I do not know whether two or three monitors would be best for the 737 or whether they would be suited to the main 2D panel. I would much appreciate any advice anyone may have together with direction to any pictures that might show how well a multimonitor system would work with this particular aircraft.Peter.

I used to have a beautiful landing light file I downloaded from the AVSIM library. It was a much softer landing light texture for the 737. My computer crashed & I lost it. The current file is really harsh, bright, and too "White". The one I downloaded used to be much softer and more amber in color. It may have been a "halo.bmp" file replacement. Does anyone know the file I may have used or even a good substitute. I tried Nick's light fix files, but it is still too white in color and harsh for the runway landing lights on the 737 by PMDG. I just tried to load several flightplans that I built for the NG series into the FMC of the 744 and while they "loaded" using the CO ROUTE LSK function, there are no data visible in the 744 FMC's LEGS pages and so they are unusable. I am puzzled by this.When I build and save a flightplan exclusively in the 744's FMC, it gets saved with an .RTE extension and loads normally. But the NG flightplans which I built and saved in the NG and which also have an .RTE extension do not display any data when loaded into the 744's FMC.What is going on here? Appreciate any guidance, thanks.Jonathan

Does anyone know if there is any reason that the APU cannot be started in flight...surely this isn't correct.Also is it possible to track a VOR radial using the Autopilot? The MCP panel has a [LOC]aliser button but not the traditional VOR/LOC button.Many thanks in advance for any helps/tips received.

Hi,I'm having a problem with my mouse when pointing to the turn buttons on the panel. Instead of getting this hand pointer the mouse turns into a dubble arrow and I cannot sellect the button.The other push buttons seem to work and it only happens with the turnable buttons.Does anyone knows the sollution for this problem?Thanks in advance

I thought I had already posted this but I cant seem to find it so Im thinking I didnt. Nor could I find a reference directly to this.This issue seems to apply equally to the 747-400 and 747-400FWhen creating a new flight there seems to be no issue with the VCHowever whenever opening a previously saved flight, The VC panels are no longer present. There is simply a view of the open sky, which can be panned fully, however no panels whatsoever, the plane flies on without issue. The cockpit and other views are fine.Has anyone else seen this arise on saved flights?Mike

After reloading the NG's I find that the '700' VC view is jumbled, the display in the overhead distorted?I have loaded all the updates but the problem is still there? The 600 is okay and the 8-900s are too.Help please?

HiI am still a big fan of the 737NG.Old but good.However, I don't like the response time of the A/T. It takes too long (especially at x4 simulation rate) to decrease, when descending. It often result in overspeed.I was wondering whether the ACS.ini could be tweaked (or some other file) to have quicker A/T response?Also, the NG is difficult to descend below 10,000ft. With LVCH and 250knots, it goes down clean at 1200 ft/min. It is normal?Because of the ATC control (using RDC4), I need much quicker descents. What could I do to allow this, with compromise on realism, if necessary?I was thinking of reducing engine idle thrust. How to do that?Thank you.PMDG: don't let the NG d…

I have observed that on approaching to land as well as on climbout in nasty weather--such as t-storms with wind shear, etc.--the stick shaker will go off intermittently and repeatedly as we are buffeted heavily. At certain times in this bad weather my airspeed can be + or - 10 knots in each direction in under a second. However, at no time has my speed fallen into the red bricks or minimum flying speed zone. Does the stick shaker go off intermittently in these circumstances because it predicts perhaps that if the rate of speed bleed continues, I WILL indeed go into a stall ?Does it work thus on the real Queen?Jonathan

Hi all - may seem a silly question.In the 737 - I have disengaged the autothrottle, and have pushed the thrust levers all the way forward. But the instant I finish pushing them forward, the thrust will return to whatever the annunciated thrust mode is (e.g. CLB). What am I doing wrong?Also I don't have the joystick throttle overrides the autothrottle option on - doesn't really apply anyway as the autothrottle is off!Any suggestions?CheersRudy

I am trying to map engaging or disengaging the autothrottle to button 10 on my CH Flight sim Yoke. In FS 9 this has assigned key Shift R by default. Using FS 9 I then assign the shift R function to button 10 on CH joystick.Load default fs 9 747 and the button works fine.Go to PMDG 747 key assignment function and assign Shift R to MCP Press AT. If I press SHIFT R the AT switch goes up and down as it should. BUT, the button does not work to do this same effect in 747 of PMDG. I must be missing some simple thing and wonder if anyone could help me on this one.ThanksGreg

This is a small annoyance that I'm certain is fixable and a fault of my own and not the 747-400 programming. I have done most of my takeoff's and landings at near sea-level so this has not been a problem before but I'm attempting a journey from La Paz (sllp 13,200ft) to Rio (sbgl). I also start with a c&d cockpit (previously established at sea-level and imported). Bottom line: After a few minutes I get a 'Cabin Altitude' warning and alarm. I can shut the alarm off ok but the red 'Cabin Altitude' sign remains and is not cancellable via the eicas. I've porked about with the settings on the overhead but cannot get rid of it.
