Just flown PANC-EGCC in the Queen. I took a shortcut and flew dct ADN after SIDER, cutting off a big corner. When I got within 150nm of top of descent I noticed there was no green dot showing on the map display. The aircraft commenced descent on schedule in VNAV mode but still no t/d dot on the display. I was running FS Metar; don't know if that had anything to do with it.Thanks in anticipationRob

Hi,New user.Hi,Got the PMDG 747, though "oh, best FS download plane, ill get it"The nose wheel dont turn when u turn!I cant see the colours on the PFD! (attitude indicator)and ive seen videos of the OMDG 747 getting tire blowouts on hard landings!Why is this happening!Please help! PLEASE!!!Mike

I download pmdg navdata 0709. I find that sidstar file in this pack can not work properly.for example,"SID AND2D RNW 36 TRK 001 UNTIL 3.0 FROM FIX SHA TURN LEFT DIRECT FIX JTN FIX D192N 5900 FIX AND ",the route in ND is at right of runway 36 but not at left.can anyone help me?thanks

I have a PMDG 747-400 with FS 2004I am using a lap top not a desk top, and it is running okay, my2 questions are 1 How can i get rid of Flight Tip Texts that keep flashing up and have no relevence to my flight situation or set-up? 2. How can I set the stab trim I do not have a number pad on my laptop so when i folow the PMDG manual instructions i cannot get the trim to move using my number keys, All advice greatly appreciated Many thanks Richard (Nagoya)

I am considering building parts of my own cockpit to use with Vista and FSX. Eagerly awaiting the 747 release as well.However I am going to be using FlightDecks Sim-Boards for all the switches, leds, 7-seg displays and such and am wondering if they will work with the FSX version of the 747.Reason I ask is that it has already been said that it uses the new Simconnect and not FSUIPC now. The Sim-Boards use FSUIPC to map things. I hope they will still work.Can anyone comment before I waste a lot of money?John Veldthuis

I have started experiencing some issues with the Autopilot and Flight plans/fmc.My main problem is that things are happening which occur for no apparent reason. My first issues is that the A/P will disconnect at random and without warning.The other issue with regards to FMC/active fligh plans. I have created the fligh plan whihc is active, taken off and the rest of it. But again at random and for no reason, an FMC message appears saying there is no active flight plan, and all the waypoints on th ND are missing. Last time it happened i was climbing out of LAX flying towards the FICKY intersecttion.Any help for any of these problems would be great.The only add-ons i have a…

I'm following one of the tutorials (sp) on learning to fly this bird and one of them, It's lesson 2 by Tim Metzinger, great lessons BTW. Anyway, lesson 2 has you execute an aborted takeoff. I followed the lesson on setting up the plane, but the autobrakes never came on when I pulled the throttles back to idle. One other question, why does engine one (left) emit a buzzing sound sometimes when I'm pushing the throttles foward ? I'm sorry, these questions are for the 737ng ;)Thanks in advance, Dan Kern

i am new at using this fmc i read the faq, that said to use the ils you just have to put in where your going and the run way, i am going from kslc to kden it never picks it up and i know i am going slow only about 180 kts, is there faq said for autotuning just put the 2 in but it don't work this is on the 747-400, any help? thanks

I use TOPCAT for my takeoff calculations. I usually try to aim to have a margin of 2500 feet at Vr, but I was wondering what I should really be aiming for. I was just thinking that if I had an engine failure right after V1, would I have enough runway left to make it into the air? Hi there,I got into serious trouble with the 747-400 queen of the skies software. Due to some unknown reason something went wrong with FS9. So I uninstalled the program to start from scratch. When I went to add/remove software, to do the same with PMDG 747-400 I got "the installed version of the application could not be determined. the setup will now terminate". I get exacly the same message after reinstalling FS9 and PMDG.So I started with regedit and cleaned the regestries using "pmdg" "747-" and "747-400". After going over the whole installation of FS9 again, I still obtain ""the installed version of the application could not be determined. the setup will now terminate…

I finally have enough to buy the FMC from Simmarket that is compatible with the 747. As soon as I saw it, I thought, this has to be something worth getting. But I noticed there are no reviews. Luis, I noticed you had this FMC. Is it worth the money? Does it enhance the realism?Any advice would be appreciated. I think it will cause my marriage to break up if it's as good as I think it is because I will be on the sim 24/7.Goran

Hi.As a relative newby to the 737 800/900 I need a little help.I have now pretty much mastered the operation of the aircraft so decided to use FS9 ATC rather than operate in silence.With the throttles advanced anything beyond 30 per cent any chat from ATC is distorted by electronic interference and speech is not heard.Below 30 per cent there is no interference. Does anybody have any ideas.Thanks,Barry

Hello fellow pmdg drivers, my first time posting here, hopefully someone can give a quick word on what to do. I sent an email to support a few days ago explaining my need to revalidate the queen (I may have used up all of my reinstalls because the installer shuts downas soon as i hit validate) As it turns out, my hard drive is now dead (thankfully i have the queen backed up on cd) but I just wanna be sure I know what to do when i get my system back up...thanks in advancegidel warde

This is an update to the procedures included in the Cycle 0709 Collection. Based on FAA NACO Digital Aeronautical Information and Terminal Procedures Publications. I have smoothed the arrivals by adjusting the crossing altitudes within the charted constraints, which is described in the readme file. Minor tweaks to departures to ensure they're realistic with the 744.As a note, I spent more time revising this location than I normally spend on any several places. I developed a spreadsheet that projected descent rates and slopes based on distance and TAS (calculated from IAS) for each fix in the procedure and used it as a tool to provide as much of a constant descent (angle) …

On the 747, what should be a realistic minimum N1 fan speed required to get a windmilling engine to start while in flight? I was able to get an engine to light off with an N1 rotation of only 11% with continuous ignition turned on (at normal cruise speeds, no autostart). It took about 30 seconds to start, but it worked. This seems like it would invite a hot start and serious engine damage on the real aircraft.Kim

I was on a long long long haul. From DGAA to FMMI to YSSY when disaster struck. I stopped in FMMI to refuel, taxied out to the active advanced the throttle levers and thought she was kind of sluggish - the speed didn't seem to be building up at it's usual rate. I barely made it off the runway and then only to find the queen wouldn't gain altitude, eventually i ran into a hill along my path. Post crash analysis showed that the pilot flying had not taken into account the 4000ft elevation of the airport when planning weight limits and takeoff speeds. My question: I went thru the manual looking for a runway length/weight limit chart for the queen but i didn't see one. The …

Hi All,Need some simple help here. I have been given three ways to install the Ariane sound files so am confused as to which one will work. What I need is someone to tell me in the simplest terms how to install the new sound files to work with the PMDG 737NG. I really need it spelled out step by step, including whether or not I need to delete existing files or folders. Hi all,I was just looking through the Cessna website and came across the Cessna Citation X (http://citationx.cessna.com). According to the website, it has a ceiling of 51,000ft (FL510), a cruise speed of Mach .92 and has a range of over 3,000nm. Sounds like quite an aircraft to me!I think this would be an interesting project for PMDG eventually - a bizjet instead of commercial airliners that have only been done so far. I wonder what anyone else (particularly Robert Randazzo) thinks about PMDG venturing into this territory in the future?Kind regards,

Contrary to published instructions on how to install the 1900C into FSX, I thought I had a clean FS9 install, no liveries. Oops! Now, when FSX initially loads or I try to change aircraft, I get a message telling me there are files with the same name or something to that effect.Is their a workaround to make these warnings go away or do I need to reinstall?
