I already have the 737-800/900 and the 747-400 & -400F. I just need some advice.I'm thinking of getting the 737-600/700 but wondered if there's any point if I already have the -800/900? They pretty much seem the same from a cockpit perspective, and if anything, the -800/900 has TCAS (which, as far as I'm aware, the -600/700 doesn't). So does anybody have both and can see a general advantage in having both?Also, what's the updates on the PMDG website do, in particular the one I've seen is the:737-800/900 Model Update - Updates your entire 737NG Series to the latest model and VC standards 30MB?When I click and download it, the .exe opens up and the title states it's for…

Im seriously goin to look into radar contact it looks great what i would like to know can you voice recognition like the vox program i was looking at the demos of radar contact but couldnt tell if its a key board operation like fsx atc or voice activated like vox. Has anyone used vox does it work the same as you have described for my flight planning or is vox a totally different type of program. Also does vox work with radar contact? Id like to try vatsim sometime but still getting to grips with flying the 747 at min please help me to make the right decision in which program to choose. Brett

HiCan anyone tell me how to programme procedures into the FMC on my 737NG-700? Specifically, Schiphol rwy 27? FMC programmes the ILS approach to 27 but doesn't include the last procedure turn, consequently I habe a steep dive from 7000 at SPL and can't make the approach.And while we're on Schiphol.. Does FS9 recognise the (relatively) new Polderbaan 180R/360L at EHAM? It didn't exist when FS9 came out and I now have Cloud9 add-on scenery for AMsterdam (excellent, BTW), where it does exist. The FMC programmes the rwy in but when I reach it it doesn't recognise the GS and flies over. Is that because FS9 still thinks it's 180C/360C?.I'm confused...Any tips, gratefully receiv…

can anyone help with this idea. Im guessing that in order to fly ifr in fsx i nee to file a flight plan as if i dont its as if fsx doesnt know im in the air ie: i dont get vectors or any seperation from a1 traffic. as im using the pmdg 747 i was under the impression that all i needed to do was program my fmc and away i go but this isnt the case is it?. could you kind people tell me what exactly do you have to do for proper flight planning thanks Brett

Hi there,I feel something's seriously up with my 747-400 for FS9. It has the most recent update, service update 1.2 (22nd May 08) and it said it has corrected the UNABLE NEXT ALT Logic, but mine doesn't appear to have.I've attatched three pictures to show you my point. Basically I'm on RW27R at LHR; on a WOBUN 2F, no additional weather changes, just the basic weather. I am using full TO and CLB thrust. She's weighing 384,200 KG so a little heavy, I have a ZFW of 235,900 KG, and the distance is ~4,800 NM.Firstly, have I calculated the fuel right with an alternate as KOAK, then Sacremento as a second - 75NM = 3,600 KG; and also holding time about 40 mins = 6,100 KG, and min…

I just love flying my PMDG B737 but at night the overhead panel is virtually impossible to use as all the switches are 'blacked' out and you have to feel around with the mouse for them. The panel light itself seems to have an either 'On' or 'Off' setting and there is no lighting on the switches themselves.I've trawled through the Forum to find an answer to this problem without success, so does anyone have a solution to making the switches visible at night?

I just got into FSX, installed SP1 then SP2. And now I am flying the Queen, and Freighter addon. I have a weird issue. When in the VC, if I hit S to change views, and go back to the VC, none of the panels update. I change the range, or from map to plan, altitude, etc. but nothing "takes"I have to press A to cycle around and go back to the VC that way, then it works fine. But this only happens after switching to the outside views then back.Has anyone else seen this?Alex

Hi All, I have installed PMDG 747 onto my laptop, which is a widescreen with Vista OP and FS9 installed, but it cant be flown because the keys in the FMC are not where the buttons are,they are slightly to right and above the buttons on the screen, is this something wrong with the program or is some to do with it being a widescreen.....Please help as I would like to fly it on the laptop.....Lennie......

I have the PMDG 737, and i LOVE it, but the glass gauges- PFD, MFD, and EICAS have a tendancy to sort of "freeze up". the only way to fix this is to switch views. How can i fix this, if i can?Sam

I recently installed Vista 64 on my system to rid myself of the dreaded oom error in XP 32. I am a little disappointed in the performance compared to XP. When I run in windowed mode to allow the second monitor to display FSCommander I receive a huge fps hit and the quality of the pictures is very grainy looking compared to the same configuration in XP. In full sreen mode the fps and picture clarity improve dramatically but I am unable to use the second monitor. Is this a Vista 64 problem or is there a workaround to the problem.Andrew

Hi,I noticed that PC Aviator has the PMDG 737-800/900 for sale on CD, and they ship it to the US. So, I have a few questions about it:1. Do I have to have the PMDG 737-600/700 installed, or can I just install the -800/900 package alone, like when you buy via Aerosoft?2. Do I still need to install the 744/744F after the 737?3. I plan on buying the -600/700 package later (also from PC Aviator). Do I have to install the packages in order, or can I install -600/700 after -800/900?4. Finally, is there anything different in this version than if I were to download the product from PMDG's website?Thanks in advance for any help.Ernad

Hi,I've always wondered if there's any way to specify certain waypoints in the FMC as FLYOVER rather than bypass, ie. not to start a turn until AFTER the aircraft has passed the waypoint?Many Thanks....Adam

On PMDG website we are told it is "coming soon". I have been holding up buying a new computer waiting for the PMDG737 FSX version to arrive. after watching my Oasis hongkong dvd where on finals to Gatwick atc instruct the captain to turn right from the localizer ( hdg 260 approx) to hdg 320 for spacing after the aircraft is fully establised on the glide slope and in land 3 config AP on. The captain simply presses heading select to go to the required heading and uses Vnav to maintain the decent on the glide slope as land 3 mode automaticaly cancells when heading select is introduced.i thought i would try this myself with the 747x but found that when i tried to press heading select after land 3 had activated nothing happened i was not able to turn off land three unless i disconected the AP . Hi All, Just a quick question. Im my 800 series when you select the throttles if you look closely you can see a gap between the fire switches and the pedistal itself. Is everyones like that. I haven't flown the 800 much but the 700 is a complete block

hey guys, i just got this pmdg 747 400x 2.1. downloaded the latest version directly from pmdg website. to say i'm very happy with it except for one problem. the textures on the airplane start flickering when i'm in the tower view. in all other views the texture is crisp and perfect. this only happens when the plane is pretty far in the tower view mode. looks like the textures are corrupted.has anyone else had this problem?thx.

Hello dear PMDG. I have a question to you about using one of the levar of CH Throttle as a spoiler. I can move spoiler but I can't arm it with this levar. Is there any possibility of calibration to make arming of spoiler with CH Throttle ?Best regardsP.S.Will PMDG MD-11 works fine with CH products? ;)

Hi there chapsCame into YSSY (744) last night with a headwind of 30 knots gusting to 45.Now manual states:"Target Speed: The speed at which the approach should be flown. Target speed should equal 25REF+5 or 30REF+5 knots. To this figure, add 1/2 steady wind plus the full gust factor (up to a maximum of 20 knots.)"Does the twenty knots refer to simply the gust additive or the overall wind additive?I had an additive of 30 knots yesterday (full gust + 1/2 of steady headwind).This took me to a Flap 25 Vapp of 182 knots - very fast for a wet and gusty runway. I elected to have a Flap 25 landing because a Flap 30 Vapp of 176 put me way too close to the 180 knot placard limit…
