On a trip EGLL to WSSS, I decided to experiment with varying CI settings. The results are quite interesting.On a leg with constant heading and wind vector, 4400 nms to run, at FL310, and a gross weight of 345.4 tonnes, I got the following results:CI Fuel at Destn/tonnes Commanded speed/Mach Time at Destn00 1.3 .782 00:2210 3.2 .828 23:4920 3.2 .829 23:4830 3.3 .830 23:4640 3.3 .832 23:4550 3.3 …

With PMDG (and LEVEL-Ds) FMC i need to ajust FL manually during decent by decreasing altitude according to next leg. this seems illogical since this is an automatic FMC system.my questions are:1) is this normal?2) if not normal, how to operate/set so that decent happens according to (FMC) calculations?3) if normal, why is it so (i guess its so for a reason)?i ask that if you reply, pls reply with some relevance to this technical question.thx

Hello,I have been using the PMDG 737-800/900 for a few years now. I bought the CD in about 2005 so it's pretty old. I've applied all the updates avalible to me but my over/under configuration on the EICAS doesn't work. I'd love this setup to work so if anyone can offer any help that'd be much appreciated.Cheers,Puffmac

Just wondered if anyone has this kind of setup for FSX and the PMDG products?I'd like to have FSX and PMDG running on my main PC and then have FEX/ASX/Ultimate Traffic etc running on another machine to reduce the work load that my main PC currently has to do, in a bid to improve overall FPS (well, in the hope of increasing the overall level of detail) Is it worth it/possible?

Some sad news in the newspaper this morning...The biggest airlift in British history began yesterday after the collapse of a package holiday airline that stranded 90,000 customers and left another 200,000 people holding worthless tickets. In a shattering blow for the travel industry, the third biggest tour operator in the UK, XL Leisure Group called in the administrators early Saturday (Sydney time). One XL aircraft at Gatwick Airport was taxiing on the runway preparing to fly summer holidaymakers when its pilots were ordered to return to the bay and disembark. In a statement yesterday, XL chief executive Phil Wyatt said he was "devastated" and blamed rising oil prices for t…

Hi everyoneThis is a difficult question about the PMDG 737 (all patches installed). As far as I know, in real life, if you have an engine failure after v1, you should need full thrust with the working engine, either by "pushing" the throttles all the way forward to get full thrust with the working engine or the system automatically commands it (I dont't know as i am not a real pilot and i have seen it only on DVD)... how to make it with PMDG?Imagine you are about to take off with a 737-700. Fuel=9.000Kg, GW=60.300Kg, OAT=15C, Assumed=50C --> D-TO=89%, Flaps 5, Rwy=3.200m, Sea Level.... (with this config, you get airborne in the first 2.500m - 2.700m)Passing V1, you have…

Hi guys from PMDG,I just had an idea come to me. Another addon developer has a GUI which shows a basic overhead view of the aircraft with lines from specific points leading to buttons to open or close passenger or cargo doors, open cockpit windows, open APU doors, etc, etc. It appears in a corner of the screen when pressing "Shift+3" if I remember right. Is this something PMDG could do for us in the MD-11 instead of the numerous key combinations that we currently use with the B737 and B747? I think it would be handy.

Hi to all,Firstly I'd like to thanks very much all the PMDG staff for the continous working and developping of their wonderful B744 simulator.I'm a FS9 use and I has been very happy in discovering in July the new 1.2 release! Yes I know: I'm late in doing this but a problem with my password first and my summer holidays cause me to stay away from my computer for a while. Now it's the question: It was flying (and refreshing my studies about)a failure scenario involving a flaps primary failure: Yes I know there's not a direct option about some flight controls failures in the 744 failure generator (let's hope it'd be implemented in a future upgrade together with a "rapid depre…

Fellow Captains:I currently own the SkyDecks 737 panel add on. I really enjoy the visual accuracy of the panel, but I'd really like VNAV, LNAV, and LVL CHG functionality as well as TCAS, FMC, and weather radar. Would you recommend the PMDG NG series? And if so, I understand two purchases are required for the entire 600/700/800/900 family. With the price of the product, I'm limited to one purchase, the 600/700 series. Is it possible/practical to merge the 600/700 panel with the freeware Posky 800/900ER models so I can (cost effectively) fly the full NG family? any help is appreciated.

Gents-Every year come September, the US National Championship Air Races are held at the old Stead Field just north of Reno, NV. As some of you forum old-timers will recall, I run a race team that participates each year in the T-6 class and this venue always makes for a neat opportunity to meet and chat with PMDG customers and fellow airplane nuts! The races will be held from 10SEP-14SEP this year and will involve hundreds of aircraft and race teams across multiple racing classes. My team races in the T-6 Class, which tends to be the loudest and most crowded race field. For those who have never experienced closed course air racing, picture this: Seven airplanes chasing ar…

Hi,I know that the MD11 project has been the primary focus for your staff. But I was hoping for an update regarding the NGX project and perhaps some idea what to expect going forward regarding some of the features. On a personal note the 737ng product has been a wonderful and looking forward to more if the same. Thanks,Bobbie Vazquez, COA4318

I have been flying the PMDG 737 and 747, and am wondering if someone can explain the green arc moving through the second display from the on the cockpit view. I seem to always get it after take off. And, I get it at other times also. It starts at the top of the display, comes part of the way down, and then goes back up. I am sure that it is telling me something, but I don't know what. I have looked in the manual and can't seem to locate any information on it.Thanks
