I am about to invest in a new monitor in anticiaption of the new MD11 and I could do with some advice.I would like to get a 22" monitor but what resolution and refresh rates should I be looking for? Anything else I should think about?Thanks.Pod

It is worth in my opinion to check this site out (registration is fast and free):http://radar.piopawlu.net/It provides limited ADS-B coverage (some parts of Poland, Czech Republic and Scandinavia) but it's really cool. Randy,It might be simpler if the PMDG forums were split-up a bit, maybe by airframe. With the release of the MD-11, it is going to get harder to find the B744 and B737 stuff amongst the many topics started.Just a thought!Cheers, Richard

I have been flying the MD-11 for the past several weeks and wanted to share my impressions with you. I come from a solid Boeing back-ground, frequent forum visitors will no doubt recollect my passionate love affair with the fat girl. That has not changed- she will always be my favorite. Hi guys wonder if you can help me with a memory issue, Its happened a couple of times now not most annoyingly just now when i was taxi ing off the runway after my first successful pmdg 747 landing. It had that familiar bong noise then freezes. my system is an athlon 5000+64 with a dual core 2.6 processor with 3gb of ram and a 1gb graphics card. Ive heard people talk about a 3g switch what does it do and where in win xp do i find it. Please help thanks,Brett Anderson Stafford Uk

Captains,I had to re-format my hard drive, but had the care of saving the PMDG .ZIP downloads files. However, I'm having trouble in re-installing the planes. I don't remember if I had a passord of what else, but it's not working, somehow. All them were downloads, no boxes.Any hints are most appreciated.BPilot

Using FSB 2.3 which inserts TOC and TOD into the flight plan. However in the 744x these do not show up in the FMC flight plan nor on the Navigation Display.Thanx.

Does anyone know of software that provides the ability to be an observer in a tower whilst online to VATSIM?I envisage a product that, by default, views from the tower of the airport at which your aircraft is located or, by specification, any tower. Then the view would default to your aircraft, or generally would view where the ground activity is concentrated. The ATC voice would be that picked from the specified Squawkbox frequency.Perhaps I am asking rather a lot? I am sure that it would be a great tool, not only for pilots wishing to watch traffic at an airport, but also for the many observers currently using SB to gain ATC familiarity.Any ideas?Cheers, Richard

I would like to assign keys to adjust the altitude, heading and the V/S instead of using my mouse.Within the PMDG menu for keyboard commands, there are fields for Increase Alt and Decrease Alt, also increase SPD and Decrease SPD,and for HDG and V/S.When I assign keys to these, nothing happens. Is there someone out there who has been sucsessful in assigning these? Or am I doing something wrong? Thanks,

Hello, I have the full set of PMDG Boeings installed. When I try and re-assign keys to the Panel Switchers the change is accepted until I close the assignment change dialogue box in the top menu in the sim. The assignment then reverts to the default setting. This occurs even after deleting the assignment before changing it.I have to change these and other assignments in order to use "Its Your Plane". Does anyone know how to solve this or do I have to re-install and not put the 747 and 747F back in?Best wishesPeter

Just noticed the following:FSX 400: Lock/unlock switch on pedestal operates as in Fs9 version but, in VC door, is permanently closed with no hot spot to operate it.FSX 400F: No switch on pedestal. Door in VC is permanently open.Wondered if this was normal for the FSX version or whether I have an installation problem.John Rooum

Hi,I just wondered how to "make the airplane go higher" - a naive way of saying it lol. I know how to fly this thing pretty much, I just got an issue with the altitude. And here's my problem:Say I'm taking off, and my transition altitude is 6,000, same as my cleared altitude AND the altitude at the end of the SID. So I post 6,000 into my MCP, then take off and fly for a little bit. Then I am given clearance to fly to a higher altitude before the end of the SID, and overflies the height restriction (for an easier reference, I'm flying the WOBUN 2F out of LHR, and given a clearance to fly above 6,000 at WOBUN) which is where my problem is. Hey guys can you help im using pmdg 747 and i cannot find in fsx any reverse thrust keys to slow the girl down does anyone know where they are and can you set the 4 throttles individually by key strokes as all i can find is f2 and f4 to operate them all at once. and its a bit much to move them individually via the mouse thanks Brett

Who ever said the old generation 737's are cumbersome and not precision enough, think again!This weekend in Cape Town, South Africa we were treated to a very rare formation flight display of two old generation 737's, namely the 200 and 300 models flown as South African Airways Cargo.The airport was Airforce Base Ysterplaat(FAYP)The 200 was flown by veteran aerobatic ace and 747-400/ A340-600 pilot, Captain Scully Levin and his daughter as first officer. (Both his daughters are captains in SAA on heavy's by the way). Hi Guys.I purchased today 747-400X and downloaded it too a memory stick.I have validated the product on my Windows XP machine and everything is working fine.I then put the memory stick in to my other PC(windows Vista 64 bit) but when I try to validate the product on my Windows Vista(64bit) PC I get a window pop up titled "unhandled exception" and a messageError number:0x800C0008Description: the download of the specified resource has failed.Any Ideas what this means? If I have downloaded the product via a XP pc does this mean it then wont work on Vista?Thanks for any help Tony
