The PMDG airports.dat for AIRAC 0810 places LOWI at N47.260278 E11.343889 and my chart places it at N47 15.6 E011 20.6. These are approximately the same, therefore. The wpNavAID.txt for the same cycle puts OEJ at N47.314503 E11.602422. My LOC DME WEST let-down procedure bases its altitudes in distances from OEJ.Yet my ND displays the runway threshhold about 11.4 nms to the west of where I guess it should be.Could someone confirm the distance west is the runway 08 threshhold from OEJ, please? If the airport is misplaced and the answer is in lat/lon, then how do I convert it to the PMDG decimal notation.Cheers, Richard

Hey all.Just wanted to take a moment, before the chaos of release is upon us, to give a hearty congratulations to the PMDG team, and more specifically, Bill and Michael, for seeing this project through to completion. It seems like eons ago that Bill first posted shots of his newest project over at FSNordic. I seem to remember test flight "photos" from Honolulu, is that correct ? :)What will give me the most satisfaction today, as I purchase what looks to be another revolutionary PMDG product, is to finally be given the chance to thank Bill for all he has done over the years, with more than just words for a change. To Bill, Michael, and the rest of the PMDG crew, thank you,…

With my PMDG 737/800, I would like to practice some difficult approaches (e.g. LOWI) including FMC , but since saving a flight is not possible, what is the best way to achieve this, ( I don't want to takeoff each time and fly to the beginning of my STAR)Regards,AlbertEHAM

For which reason ever I got an "IRU No 2 No align" msg at the Engine & saftey warning display and the corresponsing Anu is flashing at the overhead pnl...No 1 is working well.1) What do I have to do now that No 2 is aligning as well? I tried to switch it to "off" and afterwards to "Nav" again...but no change...2) In real world: Is it allowed to take off with only on IRS working (aligned)...?Thanks! :)

Hi all,I'm looking at some fuel planning, and I'm currently using the table on page 64.If you look in the column with 600k lbs gross weight the optimal altitude is listed to FL370 with a fuel consumption of 22.0k lbs/h. However if one then looks for the same weight at FL360 then, the fuel consumption is 20.0k lbs/h and for FL350 it's 20.4k lbs/h.Is this a typo? If it's not, how come that the optimal altitude has a fuel burn around 10% higher than for the two lower flight level? (Actually the figure for FL370 is the highest for all flight level above FL300).There are several other cases with the same trend, which is the reason I don't just consider it a typo./ Jesper

Hi,I have this question regarding the PMDG Load-Sheet-Manager: I wonder about this: First scenario: When choosing a typical 2/3 Pax-configuration I am able to take a very low ammount of fuel (e.g. only 7 tons)...the TOCG will stay black and I am able to take-off without problems...Second scenario: When flying without any Pax & cargo I would assume even more that there wont be a change considering the low ammount of fuel. But as I had to learn I have to take at least(!) 60 tons of fuel otherwise the TOCG will become red and I am unable to depart. Could someone please explain this...the result (at least for me)is that - although I havent any loads on board - I have to t…

Hi Captains,I wonder how do the real life pilots deal with FMC initialization when they fly a "there & back" short flight or a flight with short stop for fueling or passengers taking (for example Teneriffe->Warsaw via Gran Canaria). Do they have to power off the a/c and to perform all procedures in order to reset and reinitialize FMC on each departure?RegardsCzarek

Hello there,I wonder about two things...Is there a way to use the auto-brakes for rejected take off and if yes, wich button/key I should press to cancel take-off ?And second, is the message "BRAKE" should show on the bottom left end of the screen or not ?Because in first case I did not found this information yet in the documentation and for the second, three landing with no "BRAKE" showing in red.Regards.

I am watching right now this cold-and-dark video:http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=vUDML_mheacAt the beginning - after Bat switched on & fire warning tests - the APU is started. Until the APU isnt yet started-up there is NO(!) aural warning tone (no electricity)...If I reproduce this here - cold & dark, Bat to "on" and pressing APU-start switch - there is this constant warning tone the whole time until the APU has been started up and the bus connected... Question: Do you have an idea how - from cold & dark - to start up the APU without the warning tone (like in the vid) in the backround until the APU has been started & connected? Is there kind of "trick" ...…

Hello PMDG and fellow Captains...The title of this post indicates the issue I'd like to discuss concerning the MD-11F: in order to achieve MTOW, the load manager, in it's present form, does not allow the max capacity for cargo weight to be achieved. From my testing, max cargo weight has been limited so that a full tank of fuel can always be loaded. My post is a request to remove this restriction such that a full load of pallets/containers can be loaded so as to achieve max cargo weight. In such cases it would not be possible to fully fuel the aircraft. I'd like to have this option.Thank you for considering this request,

Hi there PMDGI suppose there's never going to some sort of "automatic step climb" feature in the MD-11 is there, or future long-haul aircraft?Of course, I know the real aircraft can't do it, but if there were some menu option that you could tick to have the aircraft climb itself at the step size you gave it sort of thing, such as when you go to bed, it would save dear old pilots such as myself having to get up from a snooze every few hours to do so!Perhaps I am the only one who has though of this?Anyway, just curious.Rudy

Hi,Getting more and more comfortable with the MD-11 systems. :-)However, one thing I have noticed during the night flights, is that I can not find anywhere to switch on the cabin lights. It only works if I press the "L" key. But then also all the aircraft lights switches on.So,..where do I switch on only the cabinlights? Many thanks to PMDG for such a great product! I'm really having a good time flying the MD-11.I'm having a small problem with the HDG Select mode. I have built a flight plan from PHKO to KONT in FSBuild. For my departure from PHKO, I selected the AMERY2.ROWIN departure. In the MD-11's FMS, all looks OK. Because this departure requires a left turn to a heading of 270 (departing from RWY 35) after passing 500' I did not arm the NAV mode before takeoff. Instead, I preselected the heading of 270 using the HDG knob. After takeoff and passing through 500' I pushed the Auto Flight switched and pulled the HDG Select knob to start my left turn to 270 degrees. However, the ai…

Hi,Just made another terrific flight from Hong Kong to Almaty with the WOW. But in Kazachstan they prefer QFE over QNH.And as far as I know QFE (Altitude above Station) should read 0 at the THR for the RWY.In the MD11 it's the same as the QNH. Is this FSX related or did I just discover a bug? Thanks in adv,

Good day all. I just purchased and installed FSX with the first service pack. My normal computer is on the fritz (Windows won't start even in safe mode -- any help here?) so I'm having to use a computer from my mom's work. I'm pretty comuter illeterate. The computer I'm using now has .99 GB RAM and I'm pretty sure my normal computer has ~2-3 GB RAM. With FS9 and the PMDG 744 I get great rates, locked at 25 FPS I get no lower than 23 FPS. But on the crappy computer (.99 GB RAM) with FSX locked at 25 FPS I'm getting ~9, even with the default aircraft. Looking at the performance requirements for the 744 it says for best performance 2 GB RAM. So my question is, are the low fr…

I'm using PMDG 737/800 and try to program the FMC for EHAM ILS27 arrival, using Sugal star (comming from the west.)According to my chart, I fly from SPL to WP via heading 093, then follow HDG 141 for 1 minute before making an left turn to capture the localizer. How do I program the FMC to follow this heading for 1 minute or do I have to do this manually ?

I decided to fly Fred Clausen's tutorial ver. 2 from KJFK to KORD with the 737-700. I've tried several times, but can't seem to get her to make the 200/5000 restriction at PAPPI. I followed the directions exactly, but no dice. It calls for hitting Decend Now about 30 nm before the top of decent point, which it begins nicely. The decent profile shows up on the display, but the decent never increases above 1000fpm. The decent profile then disappears. It arrives at PAPPI at about 22000 ft rather than 5000, and at a speed above 200. I made sure I hit exec on the fmc but still no. I'm in VNAV and LNAV and there are no VNAV disconnects. Has anyone tried this flight before? Any…

Im from Montreal, where the CRJ series are developped and I have always wanted to see a PMDG quality CRJ for FS. I think it would be an excellent candidate for a short-hauler type aircraft.Just a thought,Alex CYUL

Need some help. I recently got rid of all my PMDG files and decided to do a fresh install of all the PMDG products for FS9. I downloaded the PMDG 737 removal tool, ran it, Uninstalled FS9 using the Remove/Install function in the Control panel, and then went in and removed all remaining FS9 files & folders. I then installed FS2004 using my previously purchased CD's.I then ran my previously purchased "Aerosoft CD software" installer for the 737 NG 600/700 and the installation was successfully completed. However, when I double clicked on the FS2004 start-up icon I got the following:1. FSUIPC has a problem. The version of FS2004 detected is not compatible with this version…
