Good evening I need some major help. Why is it that when I install a PMDG 747-400 repaint,it does not show up in my selection of PMDG 747-400 aircraft available in FS2004? I have followed all the repaint procedures to the letter,i.e.altering the aircraft.cfg and texture file in correct place,etc.

Hi,for the second time in a row about 8 hours in my long haul flight I suddenly do not get the usual sequence of views in FSX. Pressing S I get spot view, but pressing S again bypasses all other views (like wing view) and goes directly back to cockpit view......but without the cockpit. I have to press A then Shift-A to get the 2D panel back.It stays like this for the rest of the flight.Any ideas if this is FSX, or PMDG or something else?Xander

Hi,after some time of hard-learning (thanks again guys!)I can manage MD11 flights (manually/automatically) quite well. There is only one problem:The rate of Climb is much too less: For a 1 hour flight (LTBS to LTAC) with an Enroute FL 270 hereis what happens:After the first climb-out maneuver the FMS only climbs with 1000-1500 ft/min. There are no Alt restrictions for the selected/used SID...so I think the only reason for that flat-climb-profile has to be the Cost Index, it is set to 80...Edit: Well I think it is probably NOT the CI: I changed it to 100 and nothing changed: The climb rate is as low as before....Do you guys habe any idea what to do to increase Climb rate? …

Hi Guys!First I want to thank PMDG for that masterpiece MD-11!Nevertheless I have an issue regarding the left elevator. It's simply not moving. I have "advanced animations" activated and I turned off/on the auxiliary hydr. pump before engine start. I checked the hydr. pressure and everything seemed normal (at about 3000PSI). But everytime I try to check the flight controls via the configuration menu only the right elevator works. Then I switch to external view and it's true - the left elevator is not moving at all.Can somebody help me?Thanx in advanceMat

I was flying into Vegas (KLAS) today after about 2.2 hours in flight from the KSTL area. When for some reason I decided to take one look at the outside of the aircraft when I was fully configured on final (ILS 25L) and noticed number 1 engine was trailing smoke! I went back to the cockpit view and checked all my displays for an engine fire or anything abnormal with old number 1. Everything was indicating normal so I went ahead and shut it down since I know at 385,000lbs the 11 will fly on 2. After landing I again went to the outside view and noticed now number 2 had joined number 1 in smoking. I shut number 2 down and fired fire bottles on both engines 1 and 2. Number 2 q…

After I save a flight using the MSFS Save Situation and then reload that flight the Map data on the Navigation Screen shows properly however my FMS data is not shown. Instead the From/To line on the Init page of the FMS is blank even though I had provided the departure and destination airports on that line before I saved the situation. Why is the FMS data not being recalled? I also went to the "Ref" page of the FMS and pressed the "Save F-Plan" button. The scratchpad responded by indicating "F-Pln saved as KSEAKPDX001" however I don't know how to retrieve that file for the FMS when I re-start FSX. After not being able to retrieve my FMS data I referred to page 0.00.11…

I have a couple of questions regarding 2D panel control:Firstly, in order to shutdown the engines is there a shortcut to display the engine start panel directly or must you go through the forward pedestal view first? It's a shame the fuel switches aren't functional in the pedestal panel view. The Engine Start Panel seems to be the only panel which can't be reached in one selection.Secondly, the fire handles are out of view in the full overhead panel view. There seems to be no way to display the aft overhead panel so that they can be used. In VC mode the fire handles can be operated.The way the relevant systems component panel is displayed when its System Display page …

Hello,First off I love your product. This was my first PMDG aircraft but as much as I am enjoying it it certainly won't be the last.My question has to do with the landing and taxi lights; mine don't seem to be acting properly. When I turn on the switches a spot of light apears on the ground about 400 yards in front of the plane and 75 yards off to the left and right. Easiest to spot from the overhead view. I realize this is dificult to explain so If need be I can post a screenshot but I am hobbled by a miserably slow internet conection so uploading a picture will take some time. This may be a stupid question but how do you know how many passengers are on board after setting the passenger load in Load Manager?I'm only asking as the max fuel load varies for the MD11 at least and with 3 passenger options in the drop down menu.... I'm wondering if it's as I am guessing... whatever passenger seating arrangement is selected... is saved for the next flight.IE if 'mixed' is in the top menu, that is what you get for the next flight!!!Regards John Ellisonp.s. Sorry that I have to ask again:My prep for a short 1h flight are complete...I entered all data into the FMS/MCDU (SID,Route,STAR) etc...the FMS calculated a flight time with the current weight of 0:50h.My question: Where (on which page/sub-page) of the MCDU can I read the *needed* fuel which the FMS calculated *precisely* for that flight...? So where can I find that info exactly concerning the *FMS-calculated* fuel ammount for that trip...?Thanks very much! :)

I've been trying to follow the thread about OOM problems, well lucky for me this has not happened, but there was a post of a similar problem to mine in the thread whereby at various times the cockpit or aircraft textures would disappear until eventually all I had was a black screen but with the sim still functioning in the back ground.No amount of changing between full screen and windowed mode makes any difference but it appears to happen most frequently when I try to save a flight. Restarting the sim reverts back to normal untill I go to save the flight again.This is happening with the 747 and MD11 and if I'm not mistaken begun after installing UTX USA and/or Europe...ha…

I searched the FMS manual but couldnt find that:When flying enroute the "Top of descend point" can be clearly identified on the ND in MAP mode when it is coming in side (vicinity).What I would like to ask:Is there a display in the FMS (or elsewhere) where I can see the actual calculated distance (in NM) and/or time until reaching/overflying that "Top of descend point"? If so on which page/subpage may I find that information...?Thanks very much! :)

Hi,after reading the Tutorial and how to enter a flightplan manually I would like to do a short flight LTBS to LTAC. Everything just works fine beside one "small" F-Plan Discontinuity...I dont know why there is this F-Plan Discontinuity between "HAY" and "ANKNB" & FMS dont accept the routing... Routing: Coming from the west on Airway R32 (KFK VOR) I specified "HAY" as the exit fix. I am trying to enter in N50W170 and place it in the ACT F-PLN and I am not able to do so. I have also tried from the LAT REV into the NEXT WPT. However I get NOT IN DATABASE. Certainly this waypoint is there. Any ideas?

This forum probably has the highest percentage of Aerosoft MCP users on Avsim, so I thought I'd post here. My machine seems to have died, and I wanted to see if anyone could shed light on whether this box has now become a very handsome paperweight. The machine no longer works, only showing ERR in the speed window, 001 in the HDG window, 5n in the vertical speed window, and 00099 in the altitude window. Has anyone seen this before? Is there any way to reset the code inside the MCP box? The firmware on the PMDG site seems to be just the interface software - I kept getting a box when the machine was active that more current firmware was available. Any help would be apprecia…

Hi,here is the situation:I am at the "Airway-SubPage" of the "Flight Plan page" and entered Airway "W78" in the "via" field as can been seen below.Now I would like to delete this "via" field (because of any reason). I learned here in the forum that I now should click on the "CLR" button of the MCDU and then press the appropriate LSK-button, in this case LSK 1L...But that doesnt work here. The result is a "NOT ALLOWED" message at the MCDU:So my question: Could you please give me an advice how to delete the entry in the first "via" field (W78") here...?Thanks very much! :)

Finally, after building a new machine and rebuilding lost "tools" I have developed for creating/updating procedures, and catching up with both 0810 and 0811... the current collection is available in the AVSIM FS2004-Flight Plans library. All 68 US locations.These work with 737/747/MD11. The testing with the MD11 has been minimal, so if anything unusual is found please contact me at the email address I provide in the procedure files.

Hello Guys,does anyone experiencing the same following problem?After installing MD11-PMDG, the PMDG options-menu for both PMDG B747-400 and PMDG-MD11 no longer save any choice made, such as pause on top of descent, or fuel load or saving any key command.I installed MD11 first then B747-400 V2.10 and B747-400 V2.10 update after.........and in a FSX totally clean installation.Any reasons why the menu is no loger saving any options?Thanks - Luca Collina

On a flight from Melbourne to Perth I noticed at one stage the flight gauges were frozen. I was still able to double click on the actual gauges and when they were enlarged they were OK. Return to the original view and they were frozen again. Another observation was that I can normally cycle through 3 different views using a button on my joystick( 4 when near a tower), but the display would only cycle between the virtual cockpit and and locked spot view. When changing the view from the locked spot back to the virtual cockpit is causing the display gauges to freeze. I worked out that if I use the mouse and not the joystick button to change views, the displays all return to …

Hi,I noticed yesterday that when you use the FMC for the 737NG and press the following buttons (7/8/9/0/./+/-) that they are not working correctly for example when I pressed 0 to enter FL330 it shows as FL338 clearly not right.
