Hi all,Is there any way to turn off the "AP disconnect: excessive control column" movement? For some as-yet unknown reason the 747X gives this message immediately when clicking on any of the autopilot buttons. The joystick (X52) is not being held or moved. I reinstalled the driver, re-calibrated the joystick, and unchecked all the "controls override" options in the PMDG options. I've also tried all sorts of permutations in the null zone settings both in FSX, FSUIPC (paid version), and the driver. Also tried setting everything to default (FSX, FSUIPC, driver), but no luck.I tried searching the forum but the search function doesn't appear to work correctly yet. There was no…

In the last stages of the MD-11 Tutorial, after leaving GTQ my Flight Plan requires me to descend from a cruise altitude of 20,000 ft to 15,000 ft at BLM.By that stage I had already set, as instructed in the Tutorial, 4,000 ft in the Autoflight panel.At GTQ, if I understand correctly, I should insert a vertical descent speed and I do so at a rate of 1,500 ft. The aircraft begins it's descent but continues descending down to 4,000 ft despite the Flight Plan requirements.1.Is it up to me to use the Autoflight Panel to change altitude in accordance with the Flight Plan?2.Should the aircraft not change altitude automatically to match the requirements of the flight Plan?Cliff

What is the proper sequence of things to do after a flight and arriving and parking at the gate with park brake set and all 4 engines running in order to get external power (ground power) available so it can be selected before shutting down engines and without starting the APU?I can't seem to get the external power available light to come on so I can select ground power prior to engine shut down.

Dear PMDGOn 747-400 I can enter values or inputs on the FMS during the pause mode of FS. But not on the MD11.It could be possible to make this available for the MD11, too? Maybe by the next update?Thanks and regardsMarcel

Hello PilotsIs there anyone who knows why I do not get to see the green Vor arrow in the ND display.I have switched the button on the EFIS to VOR L ( in this case). Of course I have entered the VOR freq.Even when I select a full rose there is nothing to see.When I do the same in the FSX version, than it is OK. Starts at KSEA RWY 34R VOR freq= 116.80, make round trip over the airport, so I have to see the VOR arrow.Is it not simulated in the FS9 version????Carlos Oosterling

HiUntil MD11 availability for fs9 I'm on B737 :-).But I have few problems.First of all, MCDU problems on 2D mode , but I found solution in FAQ :-)Second problem is that my ECAM stays frozen. I don't know how to explain exactly (English is not my native language ).For example. I start engines and everything is OK (I hear sound), but engine parameters does not change until I change view (just for the moment look left or right). Then I have parameters animation. Same thing with changing range on ND. If I change range, nothing happens until I change the view. Then everything works OK. I am in the process of my first MD11 flight using the supplied tutorial. Having also started reading the manuals I'm amazed at the engineering compexity and the systems of this bird. PMDG have done an incredible job with this simulation, it has raised the bar again!For those more familiar with the MD11 than I am, is it more complex to fly than the B744, or is it just that I'm more used to the latter? When will the new version of the 737 FSX be ready to purchase?

On page FMS 100.26, it describes how to setup an offset track. It shows an offset at 5L but it doesn't exist in my MD11. How do I do this or is it coming?

Greetings:I have downloaded and attempted to install the 737NG for FS9. The download went find, the extraction went fine... however when I start the installer it processes for a few seconds then gives me an error message.."FS(Version 9.1.0.50901(FS9.1 at least) required. In the 747 FMC we enter Airways on the left and Wayoints on the right.Am I correct that in the MD-11 both Airways and Waypoints are entered on the left only?Cliff

I just purchased the MPDG 747X today. I've read all the manuals and tutorials, and have a pretty good idea how to work the thing. However, i've encountered a number of problems that i'm sure any one of you could easily correct if wouldn't mind taking a moment to help out a newcomer to the software. 1. When I attempt to manipulate the knobs on the various autopilot functions (SPD HOLD, ALT HOLD, VS, etc.), the values will only go down until they reach their minimum. The figures will not go up. 2. I read this chapter on the FCOM and on the Systems manual either. The fact is that I'm still in doubt about some thigs. For example:1) The PMDG MD11 has the ice detector system? When I download the repaint and install it it's fine. But when I open fsx it's not there. It's in the aircraft.cfg and i'm on vista.

Hey guys, FSX SP1 and SP2 Vista 32Bit SP1 and "Allow Multi-Monitor" tab checked in PMDG options. I fly in 2d with my Lower overhead Panel (Lights) FMC Radio Stack and 2nd EICAS page on my second monitor. Now every time I click a new synoptic button, ie Status, Air, Fuel etc, either the radio stack will close or the lower overhead will close, why does this occur? Thanks Angelo Cosma

I've switched over to Vista (hum?!), and am in the process of reinstalling everything.When I launch the 744 load manager, it just closes again. Yes, i know this has come up before, be i'll be darned if i can find it.Can anyone remember the problem?I have run the PMDG reg tool, and i have UAC turned off!EDIT: The MD-11 load manager is fine.

If the Captain Sim 757 runs fine on my PC, would my system specs be adequate to run either the PMDG Md-11 or 747?
