Has anyone installed the SW Redux lights on the MD-11. I'm working on it, but I do not see "strobes" on the list of lights in the aircraft.cfg file. In fact, only about 5 of the numerous external lights are listed in the .cfg file. Where does the aircraft read these lights from?Thanks.David BernhardtKRIC

Hi Folks.Sent my GoFlight MCPPRO back to the factory for a new installation of ForceWare. GoFlight kindly replaced the unit free of charge. I try to connect the MCPPRO in the PMDG pull down menu in FS9 and the debug window says the new unit "is an unlicensed MCPPRO serial number for this product". Does anyone know a way round this problem? How do I get the new serial number into the program?Regards; John.

Hi,I mentioned that I usually like to modify the Flight Plans constructed by FSX Flight Planner to include my own SIDS/STARS and additional waypoints, etc. It seems that if you do this it will not load.Make a FLight Plan in FSX and save it in the XXXYYY format. Don't change it. Then load it via the Co. Route. It will work. I guess if I want to change/modify a Flight Plan, I will have to load it the longer way, step-by-step.Hope this helps someone,Meekal

Hello, I was curious about the compatibly of the MD-11 for FSX on the Windows XP 64 edition operating system. I have 32 currently up here, but since I got this PC a 64 bit operating system is still in question with me I have one and would like to use it, but the compatibility of everything I have on this PC comes into question with a 64 OS. I figure even if FSX is self would the MD-11 installer and .dll files that are used with the plane could have some problem. The only thing that has stopped me from using the XP 64 is th use of the product key for the operating system I have now. Hi,If this question has been asked before I apologize.I cannot seem to import flight plans created in the FSX Flight Planner. Is this because the format is different? I know that there are Flight Plans included that are common to the 747 and the MD-11 (they seem to come from the PMDG 737). However, if one wants to make their own, can this be done in Flight Planner and imported? I think I once got a message "Cannot Import Flight Plan" and gave up. Can anyone tell me if it's possible to switch LSAS off? Maybe it's just me, but I don't find it works as advertised. It's supposed to provide attitude hold in pitch mode and automatic trim in this sitation when there is no control force present...it just doesn't work. Instead it makes flying this aircraft manually very difficult!Regards,Martin Neep

Hi,today I was experiencing the VC head movement problem for the first time after using the 747 for about one year, and the MD-11 for about one month. The issue was, that, other than before, the viewpoint was shifting permanently, and the movement effects were quite exaggerated. This shifting effect concerned all aircraft. Until then, I just had slight movement that didn't shift the viewpoint permanently.As I had uninstalled some other aircraft before this problem turned up, and also had some CTDs, I was suspecting that something went corrupt with the FSX or the PMDG configuration files. How can you add an approach via the FMS when the STAR is already in use?For example...You are in flight and have a route and STAR selected, but you do not know which runway is in use yet so you do not select an ILS. You start a descent and shortly pick up the ATIS advising which runway is in use. How can you add an approach, without entering the STAR all over again?Regards,Martin Neep

It seems that I am programing this thing wrong at different times, sometimes it flys straight and true and sometimes it barely flys at all, Example:When I take off it flys great everything doing what it's supposed to do when in "autoflight". But then sometimes when it gets to around FL150- Fl180 it starts to down it's climb and by the time it gets to FL230-FL260 it is trying to crawl it's way up to FL350. Speed is still there and engine power is available the aircraft is just not using it. I don't have to much fuel, I have already played with that. This all happens with in about the first 20 min of flight time. Around 45 min. into the flight my airspeed starts to drop slo…

In "The Queen" early in the flight I used to be able to be able to move through the Waypoints on the FMC screen to view whether the STAR approach looked appropriate.If not I could choose another STAR well before landing and view it also to make sure that I planned the best possible approach.How do we do that in the MD-11 please?Cliff

On arrival lets say to EDDF I programme the STAR via the MCDU it says " <Sel> " next to the star . My problem is that on the the PFD unit or the one next to it my route is shown with the aircraft and the line ends at EDDF but the star doesnt showwith the 747 I could follow the star to the runway . Hi All,I'm experiencing the non-existant MD-11 autobrake anomaly, and I was hoping that perhaps I could add to the knowledge base relating to this problem. Also, a lot of you guys know a lot more about FSX, Windows, and complex add-ons than I do, so maybe this might inspire some new ideas...The MD-11 is the only PMDG aircraft I've ever had any problems with (don't read that with a negative tone - really I'm absolutely in love with this airplane. I'm expeciencing a new problem with PMDG MD11 probably due to an installation of a new aircraft. Now...with the plane on the ground, idle thrust and full brakes applied I can see that the aircraft is still moving a bit...it is almost impercettible but if you leave the aircraft for a while in a park stand in front of the terminal with engines running you will find the aircraft inside the teminal building...and it's not the best...Another point is that now, for taxing I need a lot of thust even if the aicraft is empty (50/60% N1)...What has happend? Hello!I've some troubles with imported flightpans in the MD-11. The FP is created with Flightsim Commander 8.4. The import is no problem, the plan shows up with no errors. Only the climb rate is much to high. Right after takeoff the plane goes to a climbrate of 3000-4000 feet until the protection goes active. After the speed has recoverd, the climbrate increases again to abnormal values.When I look into the plan, it also shows very high altitude on the first waypoints. For descent it is almost the same. When I calculate a flightplan within the FMS all goes well. Do a make a mistake somewhere or can someone tell me where the problem is? Can I correct the climbrate somewh…

Example: I want to fly from Los Angeles KLAX to runway 6L at San Francisco KSFO. I therefore need to know which charts to use before being able to select the appropriate STAR.1. I access VATSIM Chartfinder at http://chartfinder.vatsim.net/2. I type KSFO and open the Approach selection3. I select runway 28R. It offers 8 choices:4. How do I know which to choose?5.I open Arrival selection and am presented with a choice of 9 STARS. How do I know which to choose? Just curious, but is the time/flight time vs. speed really accurate in FS?? I thought most of my flights take about the same time as the same real world flights, but I noticed that the clock in the 737-700 is a about 5 seconds slower per minute when timed with my real watch. The elapsed time even seems a little slower. Is this because of slight unnoticeable pauses within FS which will cause the time to halt in order to maintain accuracy within the flight? In other words, if the sim pauses itself briefly to update or for whatever reason, the time should as well. Thanks. Tom.

hi guys, hope u r able to help me out on this one. this problem happens to me only when flying the pmdg 747x or pmdg md11x and not any default msfs aircraft. the problem is that the localiser and runway centre line dont match at certain airports, e.g. Bali intl airport (WADD). when i fly an ils approach using the FMC, the FMC nav radio correctly picks up the localiser frequency and the purple localiser diamond aligns perfectly at the centre, but unfortunately as the runway comes into sight i find that the runway is not at all in the centre, it is off by atleast 5-10 degrees. i just dont understand this. the glide slope however works properly. i know how to use t…
