Hi everyone, first post, thought I'd report on my first impressions after a week with the MD11.I've enjoyed flying the PMDG 747 in FS9 but waited a few months before getting the MD11. I wanted to upgrade to a new pc with FSX and Vista; reading through the forum it seemed that the main problems I could expect were 'out of memory' crashes and VC head movement. The pc is: dual core 3.33, 4gb ram, 512graphics with Matrox triplehead, 3 4x3 displays, Vista 64bit, FSX with acceleration.After a small problem finding 64bit drivers for the network card everything loaded ok and I set up the tutorial flight LHR-ZRH.The simulation is sensational! So far no memory or any other crashes,…

Hi, Does any know how to make Autopause at Top of Descent? I know that Wilco Airbus and feelthere 737-300 have it, is it difficult to make/implant it in PMDG 737? I also want to make it in Level D 767. Hope that some one can help me. Frank

Dear PMDG:After all these years on Fs2004, which I still use, nobody has produced a Boeing 777 that satisifies the way your 747-400 has done. Your 744 has become The Queen of the flightsim world. The 777 sim market cries out for something great and beautiful that we can use with our GoFlight MCP PRO easily . How about it? The 777 range is here to stay for at least the next 25 years with the LR and -300 versions. So why not build it for us and sell us something gorgeous and amazing? Seasons' Greetings!Jonathan Sacks

Hi All,Could some one advise which is the better between the MD11 or 747 for realism. I'm new to the add on market and would love to hear comments. I know each aircraft will have its supporters but dont want to buy something I will battle with. I purchased a 757 from another company and the support I got is shocking.. Thoughts please... :unsure

Dan or anyone...can you help?Just trying to update my navdata, and can't remember the order of recommended procedures. Installing for PMDG on FSX. Download and install AIRAC from NavData. Terry Yingling's Terminal Procedures from PlanePath Then Dan's SidStars? I see Dan's SidStars on the NavData website, so am wondering if they are already included in the AIRAC. Hi.Is there available some kind of HGS (the HUD, more in here)? I thought there were some payware panel which had one, is there available merge with it or with some freeware-version? Thanks.

I just picked up the Aerosoft version of the 737-800/900 and installed it last night. Unfortunately this broke my ATR somehow, giving CTD's every time. I've solved it by reinstalling the ATR, but I wondered if PMDG could include a note about it on PMDG Ops? A quick google search revealed others have suffered this glitch before (although I'm not saying it always happens, I don't have the data to support such a view).Thanks,Mark Tuma

I'm not an FS9 user anymore, but great to hear that those who still are will soon get to fly this plane too.Also good for us FSX users to know theres an update coming to an already very perfect simulation.How are things going with the NGX product by the way? Now that one of the programmers has left PMDG, I hope this product is still going strong in development? Can't wait for it, even though MD-11 is keeping me busy right now, and NGX is probably still a few years away (my guess). :)

Hi,How does one select an appropriate level of autobraking (min, med, max) in the MD-11? Is there a table somewhere that can be used with airplane weight and runway length/condition to make this choice? I looked through the documentation, but if it is there I can't find it.Tom

This maybe a stupid question but when I have been testing/practicing with the PMDG MD11 (just bought it a few days ago, fantastic btw) at some point I get the ILS Ident beep automatically and throughout my whole short test/practice flights (roughly 1 hour fly time) I get the constant indent beeping and it is driving me insane.I have been playing with the radios on the pedestal and the nav/rad on the FMS and no luck turning it off. I think this ILS ident sound is independant to the MD11 but is inbuilt in MSFS, I still can use the indent on the MD11's pedstal while the loud annoying FSX is going the same time.Anyone know how to shut it off? BTW I am using FSX 64bit Vista.Ed…

Hi,Can someone explain how to read the table on top af page L.00.2 in the FCOM (Maximum Weight Tables). I'm trying to find the maximum landing weight of the MD-11 freighter, but which of the three rows should I use? And what are the other two rows?Thanks,Tom

I just purchased the MD-11 yesterday and I must say I was blown away. This is by far the best airplane I have ever seen for a simulation as well real life :( . However, I have ran into a very minor issue; the control yoke will not move forward or back. It will turn left and right when I move my joystick but not forward or back. Anyone ever heard of a problem like this and is there a fix? Also, I cannot see the external lights on the wing tips like the nav, beacon, and strobe lights day or night. Is there a certain way that FSX has to be configured in order to see all of the lights? Jared

Just wanted to get some opinions from other users here.I own the FS9/FSX combo MD-11 package, as well as a flight deck poster, and just got the printed FCOM today as a late birthday present. For those that own the other manuals, should I put the MD-11 systems manual or QRH on my list as a Christmas present this year (asking for both may be a bit much)? What is everyone's opinions on the flip card checklists too?On a side note, does the FCOM contain most of the information included in the QRH (but of course the QRH is a one-stop document for all checklists and procedures)?Thanks!

i tried doing a flight from panc to rjtt...alaska to japan. 3000 miles...i filled the aircraft with 50% full of fuel...but ran dry about an hour into the flight...im new to this plane so if its my fault thats okm ryder
