For everyone who hasn't already seen the video, Please share your thoughts about this new video. From what I can tell the virtual cockpit is perfect. The switches and buttons are modeled nicely and this plane should be one of the best add-ons to go down in history.

I was wondering that now you are in the late development stage, if there is any significant RELATIVE difference in Frame Rates& performance in FSX between using a default A/C (say their 737/800) & the NGX .Just curious to know if NGX will be more demanding computer performance wise or less so or about the same? .... (I don't know if there's a previous post on the subject).Just for info, I have just bought a new system just for NGX, & have loaded in FSX & ORBX.ASRock P55 PRO M/B - Intel P55, DDR3 2600+, Intel i5- 650 Core i5 CPU, Dual Core 3.20 GHz, -RAM 4GB KIT ( 2 x 2GB) DDR3 PC-12800 (1600MHz), HIS ATI HD 6850 PCI-E 2.1 1GB 256-bit GDDR5,I have set sl…

Just wondering how to translate coordinates for a navaid in one form to another. Example: Flightsim 2004 has the format N42*14.8 W70*53.35Online at some sites they have a format of (and this is for a different navaid): Lat/Long: 42-29-41.900N / 071-33-12.270WHow would you change the second format to that of the first? The reason I ask is that I'm trying to add navaids to into my FMC. Thanks,Chris Porter

Since it is the weekend, I was wondering if we can get a small update on the NGX, just something small, like what you guys worked on this past week? Or maybe what you will be working on this upcoming week? Just a little something (only needs to be a short sentence) to keep us all sane. Pretty Please? :)

To the PMDG staf,Some time ago someone, I think it was Ryan, told we could expect some videos of the 737NGX.I know that I am impatient and I know everyone is working hard on the release, but I would greatly appreciated one or two videos of the new 737NGX (external and internal). Is it something we can expect in a short range of time? Thanks for your reaction.RegardsEric

  9. Quick question for anyone who can answer.I wrote a little .bat file to delete all the shader cahce files for FSX, then start FSX and so far this has worked well. Occasionally, I would get the black screen while flying the JS41 and realized I'd forgot to rebuild the shader cache, hence the .bat file. My question is, would there be any reason not to do this? It's not that it necessarily needs to be done every time FSX is started so that's why I ask.Thanks.

Hey guys, like many others... I'm asking a question that's unrelated to PMDG, but because of the traffic and knowledgeable folks here, I thought I'd ask. (Feel free to move, delete, etc. if need be)I have a certain addon GA aircraft that has a "feature" on the VC panel that allows the pilot to change views by clicking a dead spot in the panel... For instance if you click just to the left of the Garmin, it'll zoom in on the Garmin... Right click gets you back to the main VC view. I fly with TIR and EZdok... so I always inadvertently click the viewpoint hotspot unintentionally. My goal is to disable these hotspots...All advice on where to start looking is welcome and if mor…

Hi,A320FirstOfficer (Martin) and myself thought it would be interesting to fly a couple of routes using different aircraft of similar mass. The first two aircraft that came to mind were the MD-11 vs. 747, to fly the following routes:* SHORT RANGE: Heathrow to Zurich (EGLL to LSZH)* MEDIUM RANGE: Copenhagen to Dubai (EKCH to OMDB)* LONG RANGE: Heathrow to Anchorage (EGLL to PANC)The aircraft must be loaded with approximately 90000 lbs of payload, plus an accurate fuel loading for the flight. The routing and fuel load will be left up to you, but the aim is to use as little fuel as possible whilst complying with minimum fuel requirements (APU + taxi + trip fuel + 5% nav conti…

I'm sure this has been reported before, but I can't find the topic, so here goes. On my last two flights, Lnav has become very unstable during cruise flight. It appears to chase the course and uses large bank angles to correct resulting in ever increasing deviations. I tried engaging heading select in an attempt to stabilize the aircraft and also tried reselecting the active waypoint while in Lnav, but I'm unable to correct the problem when it occurs. I'm always very close to optimum altitude, use a cruise speed of .84 mach, and all hydrraulic and flight control synoptics appear normal.Any ideas? Thanks.Pete Locascio

I'm really looking for help with my fsx and don't know where to look so I thought I would try here since PMDG users generally have a strong grasp of FS. Here we go, i just deleted some aircraft (freeware and such, no default) from my simobjects/aircraft folder, now when i select an aircraft (payware), my nav, beacon and strobe lights do not work. Also when I exit my flight, i get a CTD. Another funny thing, i can see all my exterior lights in tower view, but not in spot, and I am also worried about this CTD bit. Any bit of help someone could offer that would save me from reinstalling fsx, since i have ALOT of addons in there would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.PS. …

Hello all. You haven't seen me around the forum in the past two days, but I wanted to touch base with you all. As some of you may know, I moved from Dallas, TX to Tuscaloosa, AL several years ago.In case you haven't heard, there has been a terrible disaster here. An EF4 tornado that was nearly a mile wide hit us here in Tuscaloosa. Me and my family are all-right, however many of our friends completely lost their homes and have nothing but the clothes on their back. Many areas of the town are simply destroyed, while others are badly damaged. To give you an idea of the severity: Today we tried our best to assist in the relief effort. The situation is so bad that the search…

Hey all!Been sitting on the captain seat of a 737-800 today, when i came back from my vacation. I know a retired captain, who knows the captain of THIS flight, and he then invited me to the cockpit. Unfortunately, when i asked to visit the cockpit in the air, the cabin crew said no, but the Captain asked me today: "Why didn't you come while we were in the air?", he smiled. Well, i said: The crew didn't let me come in. He then was like ##### lol.Anyways, here's a picture i took while i was sitting on the captain seat. Taken from my iphone 4 so excuse the quality please.I got a 2nd picture but i'm not sure if i should load it up, as you can see the first officer on that pic…

This question is for Ryan or someone on the dev team. I just finnished reading about the new Aerosoft Katana and it's damage and wear model. I was wondering if we'll be seeing anything like that on the NGX? I was just curious because I remember that some features were being held back for competitive advantage reasons. I had a long drive the other day and I was thinking about what could you guys possibly have up your sleave that is such a secret. We know it's not the HUGS because you've shown us pics and video of that. I just couldn't think of anything that hasn't been done on a commercial jet add-on. The MD-11 is already like a real plane! The wear/damage thing po…

A quick question for the developers. I thought I had read at one time where PMDG will allow you to choose aircraft options (specific avionics, winglets, etc), based on what the real-world airliners have. For example, loading a "Southwest" option, or a "Continental" option. A lot of us (myself included) are not aware of which options each airline has on their planes. Will this be included in the package?I am not asking about which specific options will be included for each plane, just if this will indeed be done. Many thanks

It looks like my airline is going to get iPads for the whole pilot group to use as Electronic Flight Bags (EFBs). They will be the only thing we will be required to carry in our flight kits. They will have all the charts and manuals that we normally carry saved on them. It really is a cool idea, and it can get more carriers closer to a paperless cockpit, without paying the hefty prices for a bulkier unit such as the Lido systems from Lufthansa. Not to mention saving space and saving reams and reams of paper. I don't think people realize that 25% of a pilots job is putting in revisions to their manuals, at least it certainly seems that I'm doing one every fourth day. …

Dear PMDG,Are you only interested in good publicity? My reasons for asking are that it seems that anything negative said about your products is quickly deleted without warning. Im sure you dont go around deleting posts that praise your products, so one can only summise that you treat these forums not as a place that embraces free speech, but one of censorship and modified truths.Cheers,J.Hick
