Hey guys just sold my multi gpu setup. I am going to a 2500-2600K and 580 Lightning, I just for grins launched FSX with only my integrated 8800gt on the mobo and it ran lol! I had no idea it was so cpu bound! It was thrashing my Phenom II 965 like all 4 cores at 80%! I mean the frame rates were down in the 10-15 FPS range but still I couldn't believe that it would be that CPU bound at 1920x1080. I figured that it wouldn't barley run with out a decent gpu. I mean I tried some games from a couple years ago and they are struggling on this integrated but FSX was still kicking lol.Guess you learn something new everyday.

I just installed the new 270.61 driver, it has an automatic update feature, this came on during a flight to check for updates and it did some weird things, I lost all my sound and all the gauges in my MD11 froze up, my fsx itself did not lock up or freeze, just thought I would give a heads up about this feature, my advice turn the auto update feature off.

Hi All,I am a cockpit builder and I am trying to wire up all the lights and backlighting as much as the real thing B737-800. Since there is a lot of knowledge in these forums I have the following questions:1) Is there any light source in a cold and dark environment? Perhaps only the dome lights?2) What light sources are available with battery power only? Are the flood lights (MIP, AFDS and Aft console) available? 3) I presume that the backlighting is available when there is an AC power source, (GND, APU, GEN).If somebody could shine his or her light on this I would be grateful, as I cannot find any of this in the FCOM.Best regards,--pim

Does FSX take advantage of HT?Looking between a 2500k and 2600k.

Hi everyone.This is my first post here and my question is this...I would like to print out my PMDG 747 Operating Manual so I can have it to leaf through on my desk as I need it, rather than have to switch back and forth between FSX and the PDF.I tried on my home printer but got a paper jam about halfway through the first pass of a double sided printing run. "Sod it" I thought, and then asked for a quote for printing out the file from my local print shop.They quoted me a price, but with the proviso that they "would not be able to print copyright protected documents".Am I stuck or can I get permission from PMDG for the shop to print out the manual for me?Any help gratefully…

Ever since I bought the JS41 in late November last year, I haven't flown anything else. I'm an all around sim pilot and like to fly everything really. My PC has a decent collection of payware aircraft that are now collecting virtual dust. Maybe three months isn't really a long time to stay with one aircraft on a flight sim but for me it is. I used to like variety, haha, it would sometimes take me a couple minutes to decide..Anyone else run into this?What's going to happen when the NGX comes out, will my precious JS41 but tossed aside along with the other planes! Just a heads up, I selected the MD-11X extended download, Reviewed the cart it said the same. After the purchase, it came in the confirmation email that I did the 747-400X. If so (based on previous products) by how long? Also as a UK resident how long will it take to deliver. Lastly upon launch will the product be availible for purchase through Amazon? Thanks

In June I'll be out for a trip (in the 737 :() and I'd really love to have an opportunity to jumpseat. The thing is: I have no idea about how to achieve this. I know that many people in this forum have already had this great opportunity, so I want to ask: how did you do this? Did you just came talking to the pilots? Did you asked for permission directly from the airline? And please, share your experiences. PS.: I know that after 9/11, things are much harder and some airlines and aviation authorities simply forbid this practice, but I'll give it a try anyway.PS 2.: The trip is not to or from the US or Europe, so what are my chances now?

First I would like to say that as far as I've seen (pictures, videos) the new 73 will be a milestone in Flight Sim. IMHO, PMDG has already, and will soon set a new standard for add-ons. Bravo!With that said, I have a question for the computers buffs on this board that can give me some advice. Looking at my system specs in my signature, will my Coolermax 950W PSU suffice? I'm planning on buying a MCP panel and would like some thoughts on whether I should buy a 747 version or 737 version. I own the PMDG747-400X and plan on buying the next PMDG 737 so I guess I'm asking which model panel would cover both planes better?

Hello to all,I have recently come back to FSX ( after having FS2000) and in particular using the PMDG 747-400X, I am quite happy using the software and now I am doing flights staring from cold and dark from airport to airport using the keyboard....But it's now time to get a joystick, so I can taxi better and and fly the plane myself without the keyboard and using the autopilot. My price budget is around £30 to £60 ( or U.S.$ Dollars ), this is just to get me started to do basic things...I will take onboard idea's for a yoke style, but I think the wife will think I'm mad if I do this.......Any suggestions or idea's would be gratefully received, or direct me to a forum that…

I'm running FSX with most settings at the full right with add-ons and locked at 30 fps. No stutters and no blurries!
