Captains-Tonight we have made-live the new PMDG Technical Support Portal:http://support.precisionmanuals.comThis new portal replaces our traditional email based technical support methods with a ticket based system, and replaces the PMDG Support wiki with a dedicated, managed Knowledge Base system. We encourage you to explore this new system, and we will continue to expand the knowledge base.We will continue to answer email to our support@ and updateme@ addresses through today- but after 25FEB10, these email addresses will provide an auto-reply pointing customers to the new support portal. As I mentioned in my previous post on this topic, I fully anticipate that we are going…

I've been watching the NGX reports, and I have a question: Will the FMS be capable of LPV approaches? I recently tried this out with the RXP GNS in a GA aircraft, and this seems pretty cool as another bit of completeness that most other add-ons lack(the MD-11 has GPS, but I don't think it has WAAS or LPV capability, and Level D's 767 has no GPS at all)In case it isn't obvious, by GPS I mean GPS navigation, not 'silly moving map device used in default aircraft'.

Hi Guys,I posted about this in the Video Hardware forum as well, but I thought it might be worth asking about in the PMDG forum too, especially since the NGX seems to be right around the corner.Would it be a good idea to upgrade from a Radeon HD 5770 to either a Radeon HD5870 or Nvidia Geforce GTX 285? Those are my only choices. The HD 5770 card struggles to deliver good performance when in bad weather. Spec-wise, both the 5870 and GTX 285 are better than my 5770, but would it be worth upgrading to either one of those? Would the Nvidia card perform better in poor weather situations? Thanks for any suggestions,Robert Deichert

Hi,I'm wondering if the systems implemented in the PMDG 737 NGX would be advenced enough to use them in a real airliner. Can anyone from PMDG tell me how real this whole thing is really? I'm just wondering because I know that PMDG is the best developer for FS addons at the market, but would that be enough for real aircrafts systems? Or is there something (exept the weather radar) which you weren't able to do?

Hello,I know that this might not be possible, but does PMDG accept aircraft requests? If so, I'm sure that many people (including me) would like a Tristar in PMDG quality.

I just got the evga gtx580 superclocked, and I was wondering if I could increase the clock further. It's now at 797 MHz factory overclock (I believe). If so, what would be the most reasonable estimate? GPU is around 39-41 idle and ~59 with fsx. fan is 40% (sound is not an issue to me). I would also like to oc my cpu further to 4.2 GHz. I've gone through a lot of oc'ing tutorials, but still finding it difficult. Overall temps for cpu (core i7-975 @ 4.14) is upper 30's to lower 40's idle and between 62 and 67 with fsx. (I think max load was at 68 average and stable last time I did stress test (prime95 and OCCT)I have 12 GB of 1333MHz (6 Modules) DDR3 RAM. With everything ma…

Hi,What is the aspect ratio of the 2d cockpit view? I hate it when round instrument (even the 737 have not many of them :() are kinda oval.I truly hope it is 16:10 since I like the extra vertical space for a lot of applications.Kind regards,Daniel Verhaal

This is out of the RealityXP FSWXR-2100 Airborne Weather Radar Manual, Would anyone at PMDG care to comment on this?Thank's from Jim Quote,Of course, weather is also an important factor in flight simulation. With the release ofMicrosoft Flight Simulator 9, Microsoft has built an outstanding weather engine.Together with perfect weather add-ons (AS e.g.) weather becomes as important anduncontrollable as in reality. So in flight simulation weather radar also would be important. But since the Microsoftflight simulator does not simulate in could turbulence and precipitation, there is noreasonable way to program a radar. But anyway, weather radar simulation is possible, because w…

Just a quick response to the topic that got locked, the A380 engineers determined that ice formation on the new "critical" wing was only noticable detrimental at the area where the #4 slat is located. Keeping this area only this area clean has proven to be successful.

I currently own a Core i7 2600K system @ 3.4 GHz & TurboBoost enabled with 8 GB of RAM, a GTX 570, as well as Windows 7 64-bit. I am also an owner of the 747-8i, however, I'm just wondering how the PMDG 737 NGX will perform on a system similar to mine? I also run GEX/UTX/REX as well as FS Genesis. I know that the 737 NGX is a new plane, versus the 747-8i I was told is based on the 747-400X, which I was told was ported from FS2004, not as a new plane.I asked earlier in the NG forums, but I read today that any questions about the NGX should be put here instead. Hello PMDG support,Several of our customers who own our hardware and also have your high-quality software products for Microsoft Flight Simulator have found disappointment that some of our hardware products do not work with your addons. Our professional-grade hardware is not HID compliant, therefore it communicates with MSFS through a custom-developed plugin which was made for use with aircraft that follow the MSFS SDK. We are wondering if possible that either it may be possible to develop a version that abides more within the SDK, or if there is someone from PMDG we can send some of our hardware to so that proper functionality with our hardware can be added to your softw…

Hi all,Last week, PMDG posted that the new 737NGX is close to be released. Now PMDG says yesterday:"Thirdly, we are prepping to start beta testing... Was supposed to happen on Friday but we had a coupe things we wanted to resolve first. Possibly Monday. We'll see...Please note that we aren't going to tell you about it until AFTER it happens... might be a few days, might be a few weeks.."What is the story about beta testing in this context? Does it still need to be beta tested? Is there an alpha test as well then?I try to understand: the first tests are accomplished and now they start the "second tests" (beta test)? If I understand well, beta testing may take "a few d…

Hi,I know that this is totally off topic but I thought that if I'll find an answer to this question than in this forum. After a recent trip with an A380 from SIN to SYD and back I started reading a bit about the superjumbo. I read in an offical Airbus document that only slat #4 (on each side) is deiced by the Anti-Ice-System. I cannot think of any reason why only the #4 slats are deiced and not all the others. Can anyone come up with a solution???Thanks in advanceFrederik

Hi. I wanted to fly from ZUJZ (Skysoft Simulation version recently uploaded to the AVSIM file library), but the FMC reported that this airport is not in the database. So, after a bit of Googling re. format (the indefatigable José Luis to the rescue yet again!) and getting AFCAD information with AFCAD2 , I added these lines to the file wpNavAPT.txt:HUANGLONG ZUJZ02 11312017 32.839322 103.677260108.7001711311HUANGLONG ZUJZ20 11312197 32.868452 103.687185108.3019711311and this to the airports.dat file:ZUJZ 32.853888 103.682222.. restarted FS9 and my PMDG 737NG flight, and now the airport is there in the FMC.
