Hi,I'm sorry for posting hardware related post here. It seems somebody hates people posting this type of post but I really desperately need suggestions on hardware upgrade.Here are what I have for now:CPU: Q6600 OC @3.0HzRAM: DDR2 800 2*1GbVideo Card: XFX 8800GTS 320MbHard Drive: SATA II 250G 7200rpmOS: Vista Business 32bitUpgrade Motivation: even for default aircrafts, I can not get a smooth experience over Aerosoft Mega Airports such as Paris Charles de Gaule or even Nice Cote d'Azur. Especially at night. 10-20 FPS generally but got stuck sometimes. Even 15FPS is okay for me but I don't want it to get stuck. What's more, I'm going to fly NGX in these airports in the fut…

Just came in,Just reading it a little bit shows me how advanced the 747-400X really is. I'm truly thankful that PMDG exists, keep on the great stuff gentleman's!

Anyways, I'm thinkin of upgrading my graphics card after my newly upgraded system (see specs in my signature) I currently use a PNY GeForce GTX 260, and I want something much faster, more powerful, more internal memory, and with an HDMI or mini-HDMI output(s)

Hi good people of this forum,I just got a new hard drive on which I plan to reinstall windows 7 64bit and FSX on. The question is should I make a partition for FSX alone? (on the same disc) So that windows and all the usual programs are on there own part of the the drive and fsx on it's own part? Or just one big partition.Thanks,Martin

Hey guysIts a bit off topic, so Mods, please delete if you think inappropriate.A while ago I posted on here about Topcat Sim and how good an addon it was, especially when combined with PMDG's planes. I also mentioned that I was eagerly awaiting Christian Gill's new PFPX programme which expands Topcat to cover the whole flight planning process. Someone here mentioned that they were, or knew, one of the testers for this upcoming release. I would be interested in hearing whether or not they have an update on the progress of this? Things seem to have been a little quiet so far in 2011.Rob

Hi guys,I have already had a chat to Ryan about my pc but would like a fairly general discussion about it. In case you don't already know I have blown up my pc by trying to run something off a portable hard drive but, I shall put that behind me and rebuild. I was looking at a few components for my pc, the CPU, a new GPU, upgrading RAM and a new motherboard for the new CPU as I was using a core 2 duo at 3.00ghz.So what's best, an i7 2600k at 3.4ghz which I could overclock to 3.8ghz or something else. This company http://www.austscene.com/ creates Nav Data specifically for Australia, so does Navigraph but Navigraph does a terrible job and never updates anything for Australia. I contacted AustScene about adding a few airport for me, they where kind enough to add RNAV Approaches for Bundaberg, Tamworth and Port Macquarie. I took the JS41 up from Hervey bay and flew to Bundabeg (YBUD) rwy 14 and rwy 32 to test the RNAV Approaches. They went great accept for the fact that the Approaches legs didnt line up with the runway very well. Has anyone tried the AvliSoft Electronic Flight Bag?I'm trying the demo now but it seems very conviluted to get working and I still don't have it working. Avsim review was good.However, it wouldn't work in fullscreen mode the manual says.It would be nice to have all charts in order etc. for flight, but it looks like it is more trouble than it's worth. They want $75 USD for it which is a lot just to show charts.Any thoughts?Thanks,BB

Hello avsimI have had the pmdg 747 for about three years now and the md11 for about two months. I am posting today because of a problem that occured today that i havent seen in my three years of having PMDG aircraft. When i loaded up in my 747 for a night flight across the pond, everything was as it should be, but when i woke up to land the plane, there was no outside model, it only showed the pilots sitting down. No biggy, i just stopped the flight and restarted FSX and loaded up in my MD11, well same thing, and the floor is missing too by the way. Guys,Your behavior is pathetic, ridiculous, selfish and childish.I first disabled 747dash8 posting ability for what I thought was a joke but after wasting half an hour locking your posts your accounts are definitly closed and your IPs blacklisted.Believe me, we won't miss you.

Does anyone know if you can add lights to PMDG's aircraft, like the A2A lights or does that have been done by the developer?

How do I maximize power for take-off at high altitude? When the airport is over 12000' (for instance), what extra steps need to be taken i setting up the FMC - I feel I am missing something. Even with a very long runway, I barely make it off the tarmac in time, and climb is very slow. (I know it will be, but what do real-world pilots do to maximize power at these altitudes? Can I set N1 at a higher limit???).At the moment I apply thrust with parking brakes on and push throttles to max as I release them. I do get airborne in time, but would like to increase thrust available for climbing. Or, if this scenario is close to how it would be in the real-world, then fine..Thanks…

I'm starting to get the MD-11 training while waiting for the NG.I've seen numberous air data out of data errors on the FMS in 747, etc.Does anybody recommend getting the NAVIgraph data for the FMS? I assume the FMS aircyles updata the FMS data base?What about STARS/SIDS are these different?Also, once installed to I have to do anything with the PMDG products to get them to work right?Thanks,BB

HI guys, I was wondering, what is your opinion on the release of third party add-ons for the new Flight software I was wondering if we could expect a new line of simulation software from you for this. I know that this may be a bit premature but I am looking forward to the new Microsoft simulator after a dry spell and it would be not the same without PMDG leading the way in Third-Party Add-ons again. Hello Where can i found ILS , MLS and GLS vertical and horizontal ( lateral) accuracy and precision? How can i calculate them ( i mean accuracy) ? where can i found minimum ICAO or EUROCONTROL accuracy requirements for these systems?Thanks!!
