PMDG General Forum

  1. Normally I am not the guy who is writing much, but latrely I was asking myself:Why are in the PMDG General Forum more new Topics about Hardware instead of Topics about PMDG related stuff?Don't get me wrong, I know that everyone wants to have a system that is more than capable of running FSX with as much addons as possible with smooth framerates. But Isn't one Thread, which contains everything regarding HW, enough? It is getting at least for me a little bit confusing here.So happy simming everyone :(

Hello,I purchased the MD-11 for FSX on March 9th but meant to buy the FS9 version. You may ask "didn't you notice it was for FSX during 5 steps of the purchasing process"? :Thinking:I apologize, I didn't realize my mistake until my download link was sent to my email. I immediately sent a relevant email to the PMDG support desk (got the address from the PMDG site) and of course didn't download the FSX product. I let the link expire and hope it can be verified that indeed I did not download the MD for FSX as purchased.Could you please verify that I purchased the FSX MD-11 but never downloaded it and hopefully provide me with a download link for the FS9 version?I have kept t…

PMDG, would it be possible to scale the center pedestal poster to be the same as the instrument panel poster. Pic 1 is my attempt to "decorate" my home office wall. Pic 2 is what I am trying to accomplish. (Also, something is not aligning to the left of the center pedestal where there is white space.).I would be more than happy to purchase the poster set again if possible. Of course in the grand scheme of things ...

Hi all, just downloaded the Auckland2005 scenery, but can't find the fix file for the elevation problem (aircraft sink into the ground). I've seen there's a 2006 version but can't find it anywhere. Is anyone able to help me out with either of both of these?

Hi,After weeks of hard coding, 737NG Takeoff Analysis tool is about to release. This will be a freeware for all operators operate 737NG fleet delivered by PMDG.Here are some screenshots (NO DATA SHOWN BELOW CAN BE USED FOR OPERATIONAL PURPOSE):Currently, performance data of 737-800 CFM56-7B26 Flap 5 Full Thrust Take off, wind (-15 to 40 knots), OAT (-40 to 50 Celsius) is modeled based on FCOM. If anyone can secretly give me an AFM, improved the climb performance will be modeled :)In the future release, wider range of data may be modeled according to FPPM.This tool is developed by me for so-called "PMDG Charter Airlines Dispatch Office". PMDG Charter Airlines has no direct…

I think it would be totally awesome if PMDG made a Lockheed L-1011 model. I have been fascinated by it ever since I saw it, I went out and got a FSX model and it sucked. The modelBut I was thinking, PMDG is renowned for it's quality and accuracy, so it would be an amazing thing if they made a model for it, I can already picture the beautiful cockpit, and the amazing jet model, complete with a spinning fan inside the S-Duct engine, fly by wire technology, the Direct Life Control system (no elevator to pitch the plane! it uses the spoilers instead) and the first Cat IIIb autroland system. It would be epic, of course they could modernize it, you know, with computers and such,…

Been a LONG time follower of this forum, but haven't posted much, so I thought I would pass some time before NGX release by posting a random topic about a plane that I love....feel free to add to it!http://boeing.mediaroom.com/index.php?s=43&item=1678Didn't know that Boeing had a 777 Performance Improvement Package. Kinda reminds me of the option on the MD-11 to have drooped ailerons (although the MD-11 PIP was developed to make the plane meet original perf specs. The 777 PIP is used to improve an already great plane). Anyone have info on what they mean by Ram Air system improvements? How is that improved? Through computer code?I know it's a long way away, but I am b…

I managed to place all the files in a seperate folder and have executed the FPS_Limiter_GUI .jar file. Now when I do the "Search Executible" to find the fsx.exe file, that's where I need some help in located where this particular fsx.exe file is located. I will say that one of the blocks already has "max fps" of 30 indicated in it. I'm assuming that once I locate the mysteriously placed fsx.exe file that I then go to the bottom of the display and click on the "Create Bat" square? Is this correct?Regards, jen noulet

Hi. Posted this in 747 forum with no answers yet and would really like to know:I am looking for a little more realism in the cockpit of my PMDG 747X especially during take-off, approach and landing. I have been looking at EZDOK CAMERA (EZCA for FSX) and it seems that it simulates movements created by turbulence or taxiway/runway survices and improves VC views. Is anybody using this addon with PMDG 747X that could tell me anything about it and what if any, affect it has on the all important performance (FPS etc).

PMDG what is your opinion with the current technology your working with? Do you feel that your ability to spawn astounding air planes have limits, and if not what is the limit that you are willing to take your future projects to? If you were to compare details of FSX with real life where have we reached in terms of developments? It doesn't get better than PMDG with the Detail in their work.

Ok I've never tried crack but heard it's pretty addictive! ;) We'll I've been back in the UK a month now after moving my entire life (including home cockpit) to Bahrain. Only planned to come back for a few day's to pick up a few things but due to the riots and general craziness out there I may be stuck in London for a few months on the advice of my employers.well I didn't think I was addicted to FS until now, I seem to be getting withdrawal symptoms! and even had a dream I was landing the PMDG MD11 lol! I am a perfectly normal 30 something guy with plenty of friends and activities outside of FS. The closest thing I can think of is when I don't play guitar for a while, I…

  22. With eager anticipation of the impending release, I am keen to know which versions of the Woodpigeon will be available in the package. Will we have the operator specific Woodpigeon 1 and Woodpigeon II? The II was of course re-engined with an Anzani as opposed to the Bristol Cherub in the Woodpigeon Classic, the additional 28hp of the II would make a significant difference. If it hasn't got this option then I probably won't buy another PMDG product again. Ever.As regards the external model, will the wings be the original dimensions or the later stretched versions? I suspect that this may be one of the options selectable from the cockpit and would welcome a screenshot of th…

Hey guys, my co-worker who owns an ATI4870X2 video card wants to trade it for my Geforce 9600GSO...reason is that he says it uses too much power and he wants to get rid of it, with 2GB of video memory vs 768mb in mine i would take it but ive used 2 ATIs (dont remember which they were) in the past and i didn't like them because they always had problems with flightsim, for example they never could render haze and fog properly, i know nothing of this VC so what do you guys think, should i trade, or stick to good old faithful Nvidia?

Hi guys,I know this question is not particularly related to PMDG but I do like this community and I hope someone can help me. While doing flight planning, in order to calculate data related to E/O driftdown and decompression, I need to know the enroute minimum safe altitude. It seems this information is not marked on Upper Airspace en-route chart like this one https://www.sia.aviation-civile.gouv.fr/aip/enligne/PDF_AIPparSSection/AIP%20FRANCE/ENR/6/1104_ENR-6.2.pdf, so the only way I can think is to check that on the topological map included in FSX Flight Planner. However, I have read all help documents but I could not find any information on how each color corresponds to …
