I know this topic has been talked to death, but I was just watching about the British Airways flight that crashed at Heathrow, b/c of ice restricting the fuel flow in the heat exchanger in the 777, and then again in the US on a Delta flight b/c of water in the fuel. Is there a way to implement a system failure in an upcoming update where if your fuel gets too cold it gels or freezes and causes the engines to roll back? Only reason I ask is that I'm flying the 787 right now and my fuel temps are -65c. I don't even know if this is doable, but I wonder if it could be implemented with the addition of an extra fuel warming switch for say the tanks. Kinda like the same princip…

This is something that I've noticed "casually" when comparing NGX with older PMDG offerings like 747 Queen of the Skies, and I was wondering if ti would be useful in any way in the quest for extra frames per second in NGX aircraft. For a very long time I've wondered why it is that when you "get up" from the captains seat and float your camera to the rear of the plane in the 737NGX using something like EZDok, tha graphics in the main cabin area are, well, "horrible". By this I mean the textures are extremely low resolution, and blocky, and the geometric complexity of things like the seats are extremely minimalist. I was wondering if anyone else has a problem setting the parking brake on the pmdg ngx 737, when I set the parking brake and get a lite indication that it has been set, after a few seconds it releases itself, with no action on my part, does anyone know how to set the brake so it remains set? it constantly does this, am I the only one having this problem?

I was just on a flight from KATL to KJFK and was cruising at FL350 peacefully reading my book to the relaxing drone of the engines and then the peace was shattered by the TCAS annunciation "Traffic Traffic" I looked at the ND, zooming in to get better resolution on the situation and I saw one diamond to my left and one to my right, the one on my right was a thousand feet below me but there was no alt data for the one on the right... Hi all, This might sound like a silly question, and probably to some a simple thing to do. I have just started to use TOPCAT to plan my take off's and landings, trying to bring a little bit more realism into my flight simming. I was setting up my PMDG aircraft in TOPCAT, MD11, Boeing 747, Boeing 737NGX and I noticed that in the MD11 the PMDG house liveries for the passenger and cargo versions have the same registration number on the tail N11PM! In TOPCAT you list aircraft by tail number, so this confuses it somewhat. If I wanted to change the tail number of one of my MD11's to N12PM, is it a simple case of changing the aircraft cfg file to show the change "at…

Hi all in the forum, Got a new pc coming this week, and wondered if anyone can give me some tips on what to back up and how to ensure I have a seemless transition of re installing my 737 NGX purchases onto the new pc. I have copies of all e-mails between myself and PMDG from time of purchase etc, and old pc is still up and running so can make back ups of what is required for the transfer. Hi, i havent played this game for a long time now because well i havent had the time since ive worked elsewhere. Now that iam back in biz with new comp and all i was looking for all the planes i baught sometime ago and it all says download time expired .. wth?? How do i get the download files i baught back? do i seriosly have to pay them all AGAIN? i mean 70 bucks each addon .. i dont crap money exactly.. or is it a way to get new download links for the .exe files?? please say it is!!??? sorry my english isnt good hope you understand! //MP

I suspect that my beloved 747 400 Queen of the Skies is no longer supported but I'm going to ask anyway. Facts is I purchased the subject aircraft software, retail, on disc v 1.0 (I think). Somewhere along the line I downloaded and installed the v1.2 update and everything went swimmingly until a hdd was infected with a virus. Not the hdd I access fs9 from but the hdd with all the installation files. The upshot is that many of my programs no longer worked. FS9 being one of them. I got rid of the virus and re-installed all of the damaged programs but now I cannot re-install my 747 400 as it returns a message to the effect that I already have v1.20.000 installed and quits th…

Hi all I use the 747, but as this probably applies for the other PMDG products too, I've placed in this section. I fly using VNAV and LNAV, but also with RC4 and I tend to follow the instructions of RC4. This leads to a descent way before the T/D and leaves the CRZ mode enabled till I pass this T/D point, even though I'm already descending. Is there anyway I can tell the FMC to go to DES mode? Thanks

I'm posting on the forum because of a lack of direct support for non-software based products. It's directed to the PMDG staff. I was just wondering the normal delivery times for the ngx manuals. I placed the order for the captain's set on the 9th of January and got a tracking number soon after. Within a week, the package arrived in Miami. However when I opened the package (I noticed it the box was smaller than expected), it was just the QRH (the color upgrade). I was wondering how long after the rest of the manuals would arrive, considering it's coming up to a month that I've purchased the set.

Hi guys I know that RSR have said that if there would be enough backup from the community for the product they would bring it to the market. personally i would love to see a PMDG 777-200ER version also because KLM has them :rolleyes: , i know that more airliners fly the 200ER version. I normally have 60 to 90 minutes available for my simming sessions, so the NGX works great in that time frame. I love PMDG products, and I'm trying to figure out how to adapt to long-haul flights with their T7 or 747. Is long haul fun, and how much time do you need to set aside? I'm looking for opinions to see if my simming style will work with the larger Boeings.

I just installed Active Sky 2012, with the latest updates, to try to eliminate wild wind shifts at altitude in the PMDG 747. Only after purchasing the product, and reading the README file, did I discover that DWC in AS 2012 can make the problem worse. The problem is still there and the aircraft still has major airspeed fluctuations at high altitudes when the wind abruptly changes. I don't have FSUIPC yet, but I'm thinking I'm gonna need that too. The AS 2012 manual has recommended settings for both, but they seem contradictory. Do I use AS 2012 DWC, or do I disable wind smoothing in FSUIPC, etc.,etc. I'm pretty confused at this point.
