http://www.simshack.net/product_info.php?products_id=691 I have found that add on for FSX. It looks quite interesting, but i am thinking how this add on will work together with sophisticated PMDG planes ? As i know PMDG planes are a kind of sim inside the sim. Does anybody have any experience using this stuff together with PMDG ? BR/Artur

Captains- In a few moments, we are going to be taking all of our public resources offline for a few hours in order to update some back end equipment that will enable better load balancing of the nine machines that will be involved in handling the launch of the 777.... This is not a "sneak attack release" of the 777... It is just routine maintenance that we needed to get accomplished prior to release and all resources will be back online during the course of the overnight period. This outage will impact EVERYTHING, since we are killing the data bridge that connects all of our systems together- so you won't be able to reach support, eCommerce, activation, downl…

I've recently switched to a new computer and made a late but necesarry transition from FS9 to FSX. So far I own the NGX and I'm eyeing the 747. I seem to remember reading that back in FS9 it could cause problems if one installed an older PMDG Product after a newer one because of conflicts with the PMDGoptions.dll . So I just wanted to ask, if I will run into any trouble with my NGX if I buy and install the 747X now, Karsten

Reading this title you would probably all "facedesk" (just like I always do when I see a weather radar thread in this forum :Big Grin: ), but I just came up with something really interesting. During a flight today from Waterloo Well to somewhere else in Canada (can't remember the airport anymore lol), flying in really bad weather using the great OpusFSX weather engine, I was thinking: "Hey, if OpusFSX can download weather from the net and inject it into FSX really accurately, then it should also be possible for an FSX plane to download this exact same weather data, and show it on the ND, right? I am fully aware of FSX' limitations as Ryan explained them many times: …

Hi everyone. Could someone tell me if there's a rule that an aircraft must land with a minimum amount of fuel left in the tanks? When I'm flight planning I allow for go arounds, diversions etc but would I also need to consider that in the event of those I must still land with a certain amount of fuel? If this is the case would the amount left be in flying time or in weight? And does it vary in different countries or continents? Thanks Tony

G'Day, Will using a high end firewall affect any of the PMDG aircraft in terms of performance at all? I'm not sure if the aircraft needs to access the "outside world" when flying (don't think so, but I thought I'd ask), which might require the opening of a port in the firewall. Thanks!

Captains- As many of you know- I continually chafe at the effusive use of such terms as "best ever" or "most detailed" or "tested by a real pilot" that our little cottage industry has made so famous in product marketing. I also tend to snicker (politely, but still a snicker!) a bit at the confusion that exists between visual quality and simulation quality... (Just 'cuz it looks pretty doesn't make it good...) Of course- my own snarkiness tends to leave me very little wiggle room when it comes to marketing our own products. I guess that is the price we pay being for opinionated. When it comes to marketing our products, you have heard me say two things many…

Would someone please enlighten me on this matter When, say, I'm flying an approach into GCTS in the NGX, like I was recently, I am faced with an approach waypoint (Black dot) like the one in the picture, how do I get the aircraft (what do I need to tell the FMC) to "Follow the red line" in looping around the waypoint to intercept the glideslope, as opposed to a straight sharp right hander, as shown by the blue line? Cheers guys, and sorry for my epic Paint skills..

For our beloved PMDG 737NGX via Amazon.com. Mike Ray wrote a great beginners book that helps people quickly get up to speed on the very basics needed to fly this beauty. Mike Ray's 737NG Training Syllabus Head over and see if my review was worth the time it took to write it. Regards, CTB

Hey guys, Some good rumbling DC-6 engine 'music' from Redbull's bird. With all the 777 excitement, thought it would be good to hear the big radials. Somthing about the drone of radials in cruise that is therapeutic. If PMDG really records the R2800's right, you should invest in a good subwoofer. B) Really looking forward to the DC-6, hope it isn't too far behind the 777. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1iht1FsWXqE Cheers TJ

Seems like there's not been much excitement around here lately - it feels like people are more excited for products that PMDG don't even know they're developing yet! :LMAO: It'd be nice to hear everyone's opinions on the upcoming products! ^_^

PMDG, Of course we all know you guys are the greatest! BUT, I would love to have sounds of like the galley carts, seats etc rattling on takeoff and landing. I know there's some "impact sound" on the NGX right when you touch down of some rattling but it would be great to have during the rollout also. I think that would really add to the realism of the simulation. Hopefully it's something you all could consider in the sound set of the 777 and maybe something to add to the NGX. Thanks!

Afternoon everyone, This problem has been around for a little while now, and I`ve searched around the internet and have found no answers. My problem is, the last 50 feet above the runway prior to touching down, my fsx lags, and because it does that for a second or two at that altitude I get very hard landings recorded at my VA. Are there any answers or anyone else who is experiencing this problem? Just for some information, I have external addons such as, Aerosoft AES, REX Essential, Xtreme FSX PC (has helped frame rates go up A LOT). Regards, and if you need more information I will be happy to name then

Hallo all,Has anyone created a Aircraft Model (Advanced or Basic) for flightplaning with fuel in Jeppesen FliteStar for any of the PMDG planes? I'm looking for the MD-11 for any of the engine variants. I have done an advanced model for the PMDG B744 GE which has been tested and gives perfect fuel calculations. I have also created a Flight1 ATR72-500 which was also farely good. However that was done from the FCOM. Recently I have seen a similar one posted. I have not compared the two. In any case has anyone done one for the MD-11? --eric bocaneanuPS. Some news for FlightStar users: in the next small update of FS the ICAO FPL export will be properly formated and filtered.

I hate to keep beating this dead horse..but....I have read much about the stutter problems in FSX and a lot of suggestions running this FPS limiter. Found the file and downloaded and extracted but don't know what to do with the results, no instructions or readme is included. Maybe I've missed something but can someone point me to some type of help with this. Don't know where to put the files extracted or set this up...any help would be greatly appreciated.Bob DemarestBirmingham, Al.
