Hey,I know this discussion is old but I just thought that I would let everoyne know that I was able to correct the 757's landing gear at night issue, so I anyway I no longer have to fly the 757 only in the day. Right now I am copying & pasting every "i" and "o" that I type because my keybard is broke, so I'll talk more later.JeffLvstudentpilot

How come when I first initialize the FMC - when telling the FMC where my current position is, I notice that the "last position" is always different (only very slightly) from the position called "Ref airport?"If I type in my reference airport, I come up with a slightly different lat & long number. Which one should I use - erf airport, or last pos?thanksChris Catalano

hey everyone!!! well, inlight of the announcement of PMDG tonight, i am going to hurry up and ask my question so that it will be answered now, and not looked over latter on....:) when i go to the RTE page when programing my dep and arival airports i hit the Route Request button to choose the route that i want to fly. however when i try to choose the next page of routes (i have built a lot of of routes with FSbuild) by hitting the NEXT PAGE button, i go back to the RTE page. how can i view the next 4 pages of routes. i have provided a couple of pics so that you can see what i am talking about. for the example i was trying to program a flight from boston to miami, however i…

Good Morning, Captains! For those who have been awaiting the initial screen captures of the "mysterious project F" you may have noted that Marc was still working on a few late modifications to the cockpit. He has forwarded the finished cockpit renders to me for handling- and when I return home on Monday evening I should begin the process of putting them together for display to you! I am awaiting a few things from our team before making our announcements regarding the future of our various FLY!II projects, so you'll have to wait just a bit longer for those as well....Suffice it to say that the market for FLY!II based products has proven to be dissapointingly unsubstantial- …

Can someone remind me how to "step through" the different legs in the "plan view" on my HSI so my planbe icon is always in the center? I forgot how to do it, & eventually when I get "out of range" on the HSI screen, my airplane icon is not centered any longer & I can't see it. Thank you.Chris Catalano

I often go to the EchoFlight website for my approach plates. The problem is that no matter where I look for certain plates, they don't seem to exist anywhere. Let's take Las Vegas for example (LAS). It seems that no matter where I look for approach plates for RNWY 07L or R, it doesn't seem to exist anywhere. Is this because ther ARE no plates for 07? Hard to believe. If this is true, since it is an ILS runway, am I supposed to use it's reciprocal for localizer info & just ignore all glideslope info?. Also, I see a plate labeled "VOR/DME A." What does this correspond to? What does the letter A mean. The runway plate seems to be for RNWY 01 possibly (either L or R).Next…

Hi,At this stage I'm happy with my FLY!2K, without upgrading to FLY2.I'd like to get the B777, after already enjoying their B757 and 767.For the sake of realism in the cockpit, how functional is the FMC here?I'm aware that the FMC for the FLY!2 version is comparable to the one in PIC 767 and Dreamfleet's 737, both of which I own and love using. Is the FLY!2k version FMC the same as the Hawker SiddleY?, i.e. just the legs page? What about the Route, progress, initial reference, LNAV, VNAV,dep/arr pages, etc? Are they available?I'm not interested in a toy FMC, I want as many functions as possible?Your advice please.Eytan

Every time I try to enter a 5 letter identifier from the GPS approach plate, it says that it is "not in the database". :-(Am I doing something wrong?(Example - Las Vegas GPS approach RWY 1L - need the final approach fix "DAMDE". FMC does not recognize this fix)Thanks,Chris

I noticed in the 777 manual, there are published checklists to read off at different moments of the flight. Are there any that can be found for the 757? I know they exist of course, but for some reason, I don't see them in the manual. Also, maybe if we had them, they can be incorporated into Flyscripts for added realism. :-)Thanks fellow sim-pilotsSincerely,Chris Catalano

Why is the temp always a negative value? I read in the manual that it is not supposed to be in the really low negative areas when I fly. What am I doing wrong? - Aside from just flying at a much lower altitude than FL370, is there something else I should be doing to keep the fuel in a warmer range? Thanks.Chris Catalano

When the FMC displays what is my "optimum altitude" before I takeoff in the 757 or 777, am I supposed to try to make this my target altitude? Two problems with this - sometimes the listed "optimum altitude" is not practical - i.e. - flying Long Island to Boston - trying to get to FL370 in that short time is near impossible. Also, how can I tell beforehand what will be my opt alt w/o going into fly2 first & setting up "fake" estimated fuel numbers , & then checking the FMC to see what it reccomends as OPT Alt based on these fake numbers? - you see, according to the manual, I need to FIRST know how much fuel I will be carrying, because this will generate a certai…

When airline pilots fly, do they always work with the same First Officer(s) for their career or do they get a new one every flight?Just curious. Thanks,Chris

How in the world do I know what to figure the wind compoent will be for a flight. In the manual, it says that when planning fuel consumption for a flight, I must add the wind component to the calculations. They give an example of flying from E to West, & they assume that there will be a constant headwing of 75kts. How would they know what to assume, & how would they get THAT number 75 even if they know that the wind will generally be a head wind. Also, are there general guidelines for figuring wind components & speeds - ie - E to West - generally headwinds, W to E - generally tail winds - usually at X knots? Etc.Really need to know this! :-)Thanks a ton,C…

Dear all,(this is not a PMDG company announcement - this is Lefteris thinking out loud):You must all realize by now that the Fly!2 customer base is shrinking. I firmly believe that it has reached a critical mass of die-hard supporters (such as myself!), but this critical mass is definitely not of a size that would economically sustain a commercial vendor, with prices where they are today. So I have a simple question to ask of you:Would you consider our Fly!2 product line good enough to warrant higher prices, so that it can continue its existence? An example would be: Would you like us to price, say, an upcoming 767 at $99, so that it would at least produce some economic re…

What does it mean when the wind component for a flight is 75mph (headwind)? Is the plane actually flying through 75mph winds? How is the wind component actually calculated?Sincerely,Chris

Hello,I want to edit some sids/star for my home airport (EBBR), and I have difficulties to understand grammar.Well, in fact, I read this in a previous message from Anthony Merton (you can also read this in the 757 manual for fly! II) :"intersections:| intersections intersection ;intersection:NAVAIDFIX NAME id COLOCATED NAME NB NB | NAVAIDFIX NAME id LATLON LAT NB NB LON NB NB | NAVAIDFIX NAME id INTERSECTION NAME NB NAME NB ;"Is there a possibilty to define a fix with the intersection of two VOR's radials ?Here is an example :FIX 7NMBUB INTERSECTION BUB 282 NIK 156This example is not recognized by the fms (I got an error indicating me that the line defining the fix was wr…

Robert,I've posted a very early preview shot of Alitalia's new 777 repaint over on the main forum. I'd like to post it to AVSIM once I've completed it and I'd like permission to do so. I guess I'll need the end user license agreement and any other documentation to include in the package once I've completed the repaint. I've downloaded Grant's excellant American 777 repaint and I've read the EUL document included in his package and I'am assuming some modified version of that is, at the minimum, what I need?Pete
