Hello,In a previous message Jet Tech wrote :"Marc,If you are setting the Trim in the Green Band as per the manual, you will have to have arms like the Terminator to get this puppy airborn. There is a minor bug in the way the Stab Trim Indicator was drawn from what I can tell. With the Stab at neutral, the indicator shows 8 units. The actual stab neutral setting should be 4 units. I'm sure you can see how this can be become a problem. This was a very late find in the Beta so I don't think it has been addressed yet. What I do is assume that 8 units is neutral and trim to about 9 units for take-off. Luckily the T/O Configuration Warning system doesn't appear to monitor the S…

Well, another year has passed and once again I'd like to be the first here to say Happy Birthday Robert! In Germany it's already the 4th of August, so if you're in the States you will have to wait a bit longer to congratulate (brings bad luck otherwise). So, why don't you join the little galley party and have a glass of champagne or some PMDG JetPretzels. :9http://www.precisionmanuals.com/public/ROB33.jpg(I made this galley a couple of years ago, I know it looks terrible, but I couldn't find the time to make an entirely new one- Recycling can be very useful) ;)PMDG-

Captains! The rumors of my demise, much like the tales of Huck Finn are largely exagerated!I've just returned from a few weeks away on a much needed vacation. I haven't taken much of a vacation since leaving management at United Airlines back in November of '99, so it was really nice to simply walk away from the world for a spell!True to form- I made sure to include some good aviating in the vacation experience.... I've included a few pictures here for your enjoyment. ;-)Any guesses where I am?http://www.precisionmanuals.com/public/RR/Desert3.jpghttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/public/RR/Desert1.jpghttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/public/RR/Desert2.jpgI've spent the after…

Like, how soon do they get to the airportwhat is the sequence of events for the day of the flight?what planning do they do? What forms do they have to fill out, when do they inspect the aircraft, etc. Thanks! Just really curious to see how much of my sim world is related to the real world of flight planning & execution.Sincerely,Chris CatalanoPS: Any books or videos out there on the "Typical day in the life of a real pilot"?

Hi all!!!I have been a while away from Fly since PMDG 767 for fly! but now I saw those incredible screenshots at their site and wanted to know if there is anything beside the Jetstream J-41 coming for FS 2002? Maybe an extreamly good 757? ;-)Thx

Hello,I would like to know why there is no in flight checklist procedures (bolded checklist steps) provided with the 757 manual.. (777 for Fly! II has these checklists, I think)Could PMDG provide these checklists to us ?Thank youMarcVarlamoff

I read this from your "day in the life of.." post.FWIW: PMDG is in the process of planning a product that will let you experience these kind of days.... I've always thought it would be fun to bring the "real world experience" to the PC for non-airline pilots. We may be about to do just that! If you ever need any dispatch input on such a product/item let me know, would be happy to do it! Always confuses me - When a wind is said to be 090 degrees at 10 mph, does it mean that it is blowing feom West to East or East to West?In short, when wind is reported, is it meant to be the direction it is headed or the direction it came from? Thanks for answering this really easy question.Sincerely,Chris the Novice

I just finished typing out a long message explaining how I feel about not having a fix for the 757-200 landing gear at night issue. But I hit the "reset message" button instead of the "post button" and lost my message, and since I don't feel like making a new one I'll be brief. As a customer of PMDG for both Fly! and Fly!2 products. I feel that it is the duty of PMDG to provide a fix for the above issue. I know that they have tried to put that task on TRI, but it's qutie doubtful that any programmer with TRI would invest their time in making such a patch considering the fact that they won't be compensated for their work. I don't know if any other 757-200 owners feel th…

Hi Rob,Has PMDG decided their position about future releases for FlyII?IF PMDG decides to focus mainly on FS2K2 (understandable from a financial standpoint) are there plans to release the FlyIITobago TB-9 and the Sky Arrow? If PMDG decides to continue development for FlyII will the these aircraft be released in the 'near' future?Personally, I hope PMDG decides to continue development for FlyII.I will always be a PMDG customer (no matter the sim platform).Regards,Bob Lyddy

features a long article on flying the Jetstream 41. Out of the barrage of technical data 2 things seem to stand out: it has counter-rotating props and is a very fast aircraft for its category.I won't even touch the subject of virtual cockpit - whether PMDG will do it or not - with a 10-foot pole. I know how controversial this one can be.But looking carefully at the pictures of 41's cockpit I must appreciate the challenges PMDG faces regarding the 2D cocpkit view. The instrument layout on the Jetstream certainly does not lend itself easily for implementation on a monitor. I would personally move both the radar and standby analog instruments to a seperate view (window) and …

Hello PMDG fans,Here's a collection of cockpits that I started developing (and in the case of the 767, actually finished) but never got to complete because the originally planned Fly!II airliner products are/were not financially viable anymore, it would've broken the company's neck if we had developed another two major airliner products, especially because of their unequal nature- one is highly modern, and the other highly outdated. :)They might find their way to MSFS someday... who knows...http://www.precisionmanuals.com/public/MH/PMDG_A320_19.jpghttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/public/MH/PMDG_767_44.jpghttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/public/MH/PMDG72712.jpghttp://www.pre…

With the 757 for Fly2, I am unable manually set course to a VOR between 1-91 degrees. Headings between 92-365 show proper change in course on the EHSI display with VOR display mode selected by the EHSI mode knob. It's just the "dead" 90 degree segment mentioned above that I've not been able to manually select with the VOR course knob. Probably there is something I am overlooking, being completely new to the 757 (just downloaded it not long ago). Otherwise map mode on the EHSI display seems to work fine, and I can also manually make an ILS approach at the above headings just fine as well.I'm patched to v230. I reinstalled the 757 once already. I deleted the HST file a…

Seems that the little knob that dials in your landing alt. only goes up to 999. What do I do if I have to land in Denver for example (5000 ft alt.)?Thanks again,Chris

When starting a real 757 - does the flight crew have all the steps memorized in order, or do they actually read from the check list too. There are SO MANY step to memorize in order just to start the aircraft & get it to the runway threshold, I just wonder if the pilots committ it all to memory.Anyone help me on this? Thanks,Chris Catalano

In the 757, it seems the default oil quantity is always 12 in the L engine & 14 in the R engine. Are they not supposed to be the same? Thanks,Chris

On the 757, what is the CORRECT way to dial in an ILS frequency once an arrival runway has been given by ATC? Do you use the FMC radio page? It seems when I select the active runway (in my Arrival page of the FMC - & then make it active by pressing the execute key) it draws the runway in white dashed lines in the map view - BUT! The ILS frequency is still not made active by this move. What is the correct way to get it to show up so it appears in the ILS mode on the HIS? It seems like I have been trying to dial it in on the lower panel's ILS mode screen (the little one below that usually has 2 white dashes in it. Is this what I am supposed to be doing? Also, wha…

1) When I follow the startup procedures in the manual, it seems that when starting the fuel pumps, it is not necessary to press the L aft fuel pump switch. Shouldn't this light up for me to ask me to "press it"? There is fuel in both the L & R tanks?2) No matter how closely I follow the manual in reference to fuel planning, the FMC always gives me an error message saying "insufficient fuel". The planning seems to go perfectly during the flight - I have nearly exactly the amount it says I would uopn arrival at my destination, & I have NEVER run out of fuel. I can't understand why I get this FMC message repeatedly (even during setup & initializing!), even th…

Hello!I am trying to write a SID file for KBOS, and would like to know how I can implement the following procedure:Runway 22L/R: Immediate turn left heading 140There are no navaids given in the description or any fixes. Please keep in mind that I'd like a SID for the 777 only, as I know that the 757 has added functions not available in the 777. Thanks!Mitul

Rob / Lefteris,I know this has been asked before, I hope you guys would re-consider.Is it feasible / possible to get the Fly2 757 and/or 777 to interface to the Aerosoft Australia MCP747 (http://www.mcp747.com/)?I'm an owner of all of your fine aircraft for Fly!/Fly!2K, Fly2. I believe this would add immense realism and system integration for the Fly! pilot.I own the MCP747 and use it with PS1 and FS2K2 (with the Project Magenta software) and will state the level of realism is off the charts.I believe if an interface were produced, sales would eventually increase.I would pay for an interface, I'm sure others would too.Regards,Bob Lyddy
