Hello,this is my first post here and I am not a frequent reader of this forum but my search didn't find anything.First of all, I have to mention that I got the full PMDG 737NG set plus all the service updates installed on my computer. I found out that when the Auxillary Power Unit is running, that there's no change in any of my fuel tanks even after letting the Simulator running for awhile.I got that problem on any model, so I am not sure if this is a bug or meant to be so. I always thought the APU would get its fuel from the tanks so you should see a decrease after awhile and I think it was so on the older -600/700 versions.What I did to test this is, that I cut off the …

It seems that I have read that the APU should be turned off once engines have started, and I have also read that APU should be left on until at cruising altitude. Which is correct, and if the APU is to be left on, what is the reasoning behind it being left on. Also, should it ever be turned on prior to landing?

GreetingsI had to abort a flight this morning because the FS9 wouldn't let me change the fuel load. I used the "change fuel" menu in FS9 as well as Ross Carlson's Fuel Planner both to no avail. The fuel setting would change as desired only momentarily but then always reverted back to a full tank load !! (and a weight load which I couldn't get safely get off the ground on a 7,000 ft rwy at +25 celcius conditions). Very frustrating - this is the first time this had happened to me and I have no idea whats wrong or how to fix it. Any ideas?Mark A. ErinaVirtual Westjet Pilot 118

When I make a flightplan in FSNav or FSBuild, and then attempt to enter them into the FMC, some of the airways I try to use say "not in database" eg "UA1" (south of UK). I have the latest airac cyle and sid/stars, is there somthing else I am ment to have to enable me to use these "non-existant airways"?ThanksAdrian McCague

When I enter all the info required into the fuel planner and then upload the fuel to my aircraft. My FMC tells me that I don't have sufficient fuel. I adjusted the weight of aircraft etc and my FMC tells me not enough fuel. So what I have to end up doing is giving a unrealistic alternate distance to put more fuel in. Is there a guide to take you step by step through the whole loading weight and fuel procedure?Thoughts?MEL

I downloaded the ALL NIPPON livery for the PMDG 737-700 w/winglets series and when I install it Flight Simulator does not reconize it and when I check under the Aircraft/PMDG700/NHL folder the .bmp file is blank with no liveries in it.I checked the .cfg file and everything is to be find. jack

I've pulled my V 2.0 tutorial from Avsim, for a couple of reasons.A. I'm gonna put out 3.0 soon, and it's going to be much improved.B. A gentleman very nicely pointed out that I may be violating Jeppesen's copyright with the flight plans and charts I included in the tutorial. I think it's ok under the "fair use" exception to copyright act, but I think it's better for me and particularly for AvSim to not have it out there. I'm doing a flight from London Stansted to Ibiza. 737-700EGSS - Lam SID, DCT SFD, DCT SITET, un859 TOLSO, TOLSO Arrival, RWN undecided yet.Trip distance is 819nm. Aircraft Max ZFW.Looking up that distance in the fuel load estimate I get the figure, 9.7 - 2:04 for 800nm.I needed 820nm so I rounded it up to 10,000lbs.There is usually a strong headwind down over France and Spain, so I accounted for a 60knot headwind to be sure, (I've seen it as high as 75nots at 35,000).2 hours in a 60 knot headwind accounts for another 120nm. Hey,I have been flying the PMDG 737-6/7/8/9, for a while now...I recently had to re-formatt my computer due to a major windows problem..I got my computer running up again running beautifuly, But I noticed when I re-installed the PMDG 737 fleet, When I got into my FS9 I was on the ground ready to taxi...I pressed the ground power button do recieve it...it worked like norma...but as soon as I turned off my parking brakes the ground power went down...I noticed when I put my Brakes back on ground power was available again...I tried un-installing the PMDG fleet and re-installing it again...It still does the same thing...I can't understand how to fix it..can someone please help…

Hi,Wind direction is different on the ND and on the Prog page of the FMC. I assume one is magnetic and one is true (speeds are the same). Which is which? Thanks!

Hi there!I noticed last night that the flap/speed restriction text on the bottom right of the main panel disappears whenever the Panel lights are on. Whenever I turned them off, they reappear. Anyway to fix this?Another thing is the 2d gauges freeze when I switch between panel bitmaps (like overhead, FMC etc). Is there anyway to fix this like a certain graphics card settings or something?Thanks again for the wonderful 737!!! :-wave

I'm having issues with a bunch of ILS approaches- (KEWR 4R, KIAD 19L come to mind) where upon manually tuning the ILS, I see the course for the other side (I'll assume that the ILS is the same freq for both ends.) ie, on KEWR 4L I see the course as 22x and on KIAD 19L I see the course as 010, and recieve no Glideslope, just the LOC, along with the Identifier in the PFD being that of the opposite end. The LOC is indicating correclty- no "reverse sensing".This is new since I've installed the 800/900 and the 737 model update.I've ben flying plenty of manual approaches with autothrottle :) Landing is a breeze- even in a stiff cross wind.Any ideas?Tim

Hi guys,I have a coupla questions. 1.) I fly the EFIS/MAP config. When I am tuned into an ILS and both switches on the EFIS panel selected to VOR, the No.1 needle(the thinner green one) disappears. This is correct. But at the same time why does the DME also disappear? Is it an MSFS constraint? Also if the switches are selected to ADF on the EFIS panel, DME disappears even though one or both VOR/DME are tuned.2.) How do I get the TCAS range ring around the a/c symbol to display? I am not talking about the arcs on the display when TFC is selected, but the circle around the "nose" of the aircraft symbol.Thanks a ton,Dinshaw.

Having flown the -700 for several months, I invested in the 800/900 upgrade last weekend when the updates were released. I've noticed some interesting sound effects that start at some point during the approach which I'm sure weren't there in the -700. It sounds something like somebody scrunching paper or eating crisps. It lasts only for a couple of seconds and I can't correlate it to anything I'm doing with the controls. I thought it might be related to inadvertently letting the airspeed drop below VREF, but further experiments have convinced me that this is not the case. It's also not related to flap deployment, and I'm pretty sure the 1st officer is not eating crisps. D…
