There was a thread here recently where Bob, Brad and, perhaps, others were complaining that their electrical switches no longer made that satisfying 'click' sound as they turned them on and off. As I recall this followed upgrading to the 800/900.For them and others who might have noticed this problem I may have found the cure - leastways, its worked for me. I was having another look through the handbooks and looking at all the options in the menus when I noticed that, under the PMDG>737NG>Styles>Sounds menu, my volume was set to mid-level instead of normal. HelloIs there any way to forecast what your tailwind or headwind is going to be using the info provided by Activesky 2004? This is so I can enter the HeadwindTailwind into 737NG Fuel planner.Also what would be the correct cost index for a 3hr fligjt from Malta to Manchester. I can do it in the PMDG aircraft in 2hrs 30 mins. But I want to be as accurate as possible to simulate a real life flight?Many Thanks

This is for the people who have the PRINTED manual that came from the CD Version. Particularly the INTRODUCTORY FLIGHT section. - 'AT THE BOTTOM OF PAGE 39' it says "According to the standard aproach procedure LBE needs to be overflown in 4000ft" and then continues onto the next page on how to change the altitude on the FMC.My question is how would I personally know on my own flights that a particular waypoint needs to be overflown by a certain altitude according to a standard approach procedure? Why did this waypoint need to be overflown by this altitude...does it say that somewhere on an information page on the FMC?My last question includes from 'PAGE 40' in the same ma…

Hello,I am usually doing cruise descend with PMDG NG airplanes meaning that I initiate "descend now" 20-50 nm before T/D point. By manuals the system should then descend with 1000 fpm that is okay. But then after passing T/D it should automatically notice that if I for example have set to cross an intersection 10000 feet below that is only 20 miles ahead of me, it should increase the VS dramatically to arrive at the set altitude on corresponding point. But mine just keeps descending 1000 fpm and only way to get down is using VS mode. Is this now a bug or am I doing something completely wrong?Thanks.

How is the cargo door opened? The manual states that Shift+E+2 opens the door, but when I push that combo, the main door opens or closes, depending on its status at the time, and the radio stack opens.

Hi fellas,I know I'm jumping the gun a bit here, but after the 747-400, what next? I remember somebody posting a request for you to develop the BBJ as an update for the 737NG series. Great idea. With it you could do the HUD, maybe a proper weather radar, etc. I'm afraid you called this upon yourselves with the excellent standard you set with the 737s. Anyone know what a "Converging ILS" is and how does it differ from a regular ILS? I have charts for both kinds at KDFW in Dallas. I am not sure how to read the converging ILS charts as opposed to the regular ILS charts (which I DO know how to read). Is there any difference between the two? When I choose RWY 36 to land at on my FMC, I do not get the option to choose left or right - it only gives me "36" as a choice, yet, if I choose 36 and dial in the correct frequency for 36L, I still get my localizer & glideslope needles to work correctly. The wierd thing is that when I choose 36 from my FMC, it shows an icon for 36R with a white dashed line, yet, as I said, my lo…

Gents,I just installed the last update for SIDs/STARs (August 4), but KMIA still has not been adapted to reflects FS9 runways.The FMC still reports: RWS - NONE, and APPROACHES - NONE...Besides that, when loading a previous Flight Plan, an error message appears...Any clues on how to fix that? My virtual airline demands me to fly KATL/KMIA once every two days, and I'm breaching their contract, and may be fired...ThanksBPilot

Hello,This may be a computer-related problem and not a problem with my newly downloaded PMDG 737NG 8/9 & B1900 - executables, I'm not sure, but anyway, these two executables (PMDG_737_NEXT_GEN_800_900.exe (45 963 kB) and PMDG_EXPRESS_B1900.exe (24 938 kB) fail to implement the installation. My system (DOS-window) tells me it doesn't have enough memory (weird since I have tons of available memory)...I didn't have any problems installing the PMDG 737NG 600/700..Anybody experienced similar problems, and/or with some suggestions/answers?SYSTEM: WIN XP, 1 GB RAM, 4 GHz, 200 GB DISK, ATI Radeon 9800 Pro.Thanks,Mr. Inge JohannessenNorway

I am getting tired of the long method in flight planning I have used for a while with the NG, which is like so..- Pick an airway to start on that will take you in roughly the right direction that is long and you can stay on for as long as possible. Some of the UL-6xx range for trans-europe for example.- From the point you have to change airways, I try and again find the longest running airway in my rough direction. - Eventually I fly a couple of positioning airways to get to the start of the STAR for the arrival airport.Usually this ends up with the direct GPS distance + about 10%.The problem I have with this is that MyFSNav is out of registration and although I am toyin…

Help Please!I can't get my FMC to update with Navdata. I downloaded PMDG_SIDSTARS_0408 and unzipped it to my SIDS/STARs folder, but the FMC still reads NAV DATA AIRAC 0313, ACTIVE DEC25JAN21/04. This may be connected with my inability to find a runway at KMCO when trying to fly the PMDG 737 NG Tutorial. Whe I try to programme the route on route page 1, all I get is 'KMCO err:17L runway unknown' If I go to the arrivals page, I get 'STARS None, APPROACHES None' for KMCO. Any ideas?Sean McCarney
