Your can find what my OLD POS computer (AMD 1200) could do by clicking on this link: http://www.thepilotlounge.com/scripts/foru...p?showtopic=450Pretty pathetic. I couldn't even run the PMDG 737 back then. I had to upgrade ... ... My new system:Pentium 4 3.0Ghz 800FSB, 1GB DDR400 on ABIT IC7 and (drum rolls please) ATI 9800XTI consistently got 30-35 FPS... with 1600 x 1200 and everything turned up (except "ground objects cast shadows")And this is what my new setup can do with the PMDG 737:Taking off from Linate, Milanhttp://www.thepilotlounge.com/images/aviat...venice2/sc1.jpgGear up!http://www.thepilotlounge.com/images/aviat...venice2/sc2.jpgTurning to the North.http://w…

As with all the sims I have ever played the A/P in the 737NG has a habbit of trying to kill me if I make a mistake with the airpseed. What I mean is, when the stall horn comes on, wether you have auto throttle on or not the A/P makes no attempt to help matters, in fact it does everything in it's power to increase the stall. It pulls up, even when the V/S starts to drop and the nose is +10 degrees.I think I have once or twice seen it wait for speed before again throwing the nose high and stalling again. Even with the throttles floored if you are heavy the A/P can manage to pull up so much that the stall horn stays on.It's hard to describe what I mean, but it's kinda like …

Hi PMDG,I have posted this message in April, but never got an answer. I am always using the PMDG in cockpit view without panel view (2D) because I have a hardware cockpit (project magenta + goflight). I don't hear any call outs like v1, vr, v2, GPWS etc...Did I miss something or isn't that possible? As a custommer (having PMDG737/600/700/800/900 and even not using the panel) I would like to have an answerThanksRob

I'm confused when it comes to weather and stuff like that... I know I can enter the wind (direction and strength) in de 737NF FMC, but where do I get that information from...? And should I enter the direction just as it is or as it is coming against my airplane? And what about all those barometer things (QNH), transition level and altitude, winds, crosswinds, tailwinds, pressure, whatever...Anyone knows a site where I can learn all I need to know about the weather and all that stuff that is OUTSIDE of my airplane? I can fly without knowing it, but it just does't feel right...Jeroen van Engelen

Hello All,I know this has been discussed much, but I'm still at a loss. I have been flying the 737-700 (v1.3) for as long as it has been out. I have had flawless spoiler deployments on landings following the procedures below:*I fly the 2D panel*1. Arm using shift-/2. At 50 feet, disengage AT, hit F1 to make sure I'm at idle3. Spoilers deploy!I just purchased the 800-900 (v1.1), and although I'm still flying the 737-700, the spoilers now don't deploy. In addition, I now bounce on landings (I'm assuming a seperate issue), and NEVER had that problem before.I have followed the instructions posted in earlier notes regarding the new procedures since the update. Here is w…

I posted this on another thread a few days ago, but I think it got buried. Has anyone else had a problem with electrical switches making the clicking sound after installing the 800-900 update? I had the click return once and then it disappeared again and hasn't returned since. All the lighting switches seem to be affected except Landing lights. I am just wondering if I am overlooking something or if something is wrong in my system.

Checking this forum, it looks like this topic has come up before: the PMDG 1900 updater is run on a current install, but aborts because it cannot locate the installation. I just purchased the 1900 and have it installed twice on a single physical drive: the Windows volume (defaults), and a dedicated FS2004 volume. I have run the updater 1.1 from both volumes, from the same folder as FS2004, even from the 1900 folder, right next to the aircraft.cfg file... and the updater sees nothing. Does the updater need to be placed somewhere specific? Do folder names and paths have to be just so? What conditions have to be satisfied to make this .exe function?

HiI really love the PMDG 737's and reckon they are most probably the best 737 out there, but there a few things i have seen on other planes that i was wondering:1. can i add them2. If i can't can i suggest them to PMDG for fture releases as it would make the plane perfect, well in my opinion at leastThey are the following, wingflex as it's a nice touch on the Kittyhawk models, and also the little vapour contrails that come off the flaps on the Project airbus model when the flaps are on a high setting on approach on a damp day, also allthough nobody else has done it the trails that come over the wings from the engine fins when taking off on a damp day.I doubt it's possible…

To all,I have been flying in FS for many years but the one thing I've never truly understood is virtual airlines. Could someone explain to me the VA concept as I'm interested in VA's? Also if someone could give me some suggestions of some VA as I find them difficult to find. I'm interested in American and Pacific based VA's, but all suggestions are welcome. All input is appreciated!:-)Thanks to all,Travis

I tend to use the accelerated time for cruise and I have noticed a few problems. The FMC has always got confused about the fuel plan when you use X4 or greater time. Saying insuficent fuel. I don't necessarily mind this when you return to normal time it stops panicing. After the update however I have noticed the new clock ET time does not run at accelerated time, but remains at x1. This is rather more annoying.Just out of interest, but just how badly does accelerated time ruin the fuel plan, time/distance things anyway?Flying long flights is just simply boring when at cruise, even though the flight and fuel planning is more interesting.Thanks.

I have noticed an error occasionally saying "UNABLE NEXT ALT" the last time this happened I had time to play around and see what was wrong with it.Situ was (roughly)Descending into Gatwick, was using time acceleration and just slowed it down to x1 when it was nearing the first ALT restriction of 7000ft, followed by another 7000ft hold and then a 5000ft.The VNAV dropped under the 7000ft ALT and then discoed. No error. When I realised (at about 6600ft) I reengaged the VNAV and it popped back off, "UNABLE NEXT ALT", which was 7000ft. MCP ALT was 7000ft. To get the VNAV to reenable I had to asscend manually to just above 7000ft and it worked again.I was going to do a tes…

However, I have never seen a repaint of there two aircraft 5W-SAO and 5W-SAM. Is any of the talented painters in the community willing and able to do such a repaint? Thanks very much.Peter

  19. When I switch to the VC view, I cannot use my horizontal pan view (left/right) either with my yoke buttons or my keyboard, it is locked in forward view, whereas I can use the vertical pan with no trouble at all. All commands work fine in 2D view and spot plane, so it is not related to a hardware problem since the same yoke buttons are used for all views. When I go to View Options and select VC view, I cannot select any other side view in the window menu, it remains on forward.I have a GoFlight set of 12 modules, when I unplug them, no change. My yoke is an AETI (not USB)it is properly calibrated and all buttons work for all their assignments as indicated above.Deleting my …

Hey All,I know this might fit better in a re-painters forum, but it is with the PMDG paint kit and I know there are several re-painters in this group. :) Also I am new to re-paints and some of those re-painting forums are brutal to newbies.I own Photoshop CS, I am very adept at it and its tools. I don't own PSP and I don't think my wife wants me to buy any more expensive paint programs. Anyway this is my consternation, BTW thanks to the PMDG team for actually using multi-layer PSDs!!!; they make repainting a snap. I bring in the PMDG PSD and make my changes, then I save them out to a Targa format or BMP Alpha Channel Checked box is checked, Windows/32Bit radio buttons…

I installed the 737NG a few weeks ago running it on FS2002 with Windows XP. At first I thought it worked OK but then I started having trouble with it following the LNAV mode (VNAV - fine) I looked more closely and now realise that my whole FS world has 'shifted' about 50 - 60 degrees to the right ie if I stand on the threshold to a runway (any one !) say runway 17 and set the heading to 170 and the course to 170, the compass rose in the EFIS display reads 236. So that's why it won't LNAV - the plane thinks its somewhere else. (The top down view shows the aircraft at about 70 degrees to the runway angle)when it should be pointing down the runway. The problem now is that…

Hi,When starting with a cold Cessna situation and then switching the aircraft to the 737NG, the engine start levers on the control stand are always on. I have tried various things to have them off while still in the Cessna situation but to no avail. Does anyone have a recipe how these can also be in their off state when switching to the 737NG ?Thanks,Siggy

Hello Everybody,After updating PMDG 737-800/900 with PMDG 737-800/900 Service Update 1, the Loc Back Course tracking problem was assumed to be fixed. However, when approaching a Back Course ILS and selecting VOR LOC on the MCP, the bird is not at all tracking the ILS and I have to follow it manually.Perhaps, I am doing something wrong ? Is anybody has experimented a Back Course ILS tracking problem with this bird after updating the Service Update 1 ?Best Regards to all of you.Didier DUBREUILH
