Hey Randy -I was going to just reply to the other thread we had going on this issue, but wasn't sure if you would miss it, so here's a new one :-)Okay, it appears the 250kts speed restriction is defaulted up to 10,000ft by the FMS (on "ECON CLB" page or something like that). In your latest example, you posted a picture showing a 215kt restriction, which seemed to work just fine. Now, I am assuming the 250kts restriction should work by default (no reason to re-type this in as it's already there.) When I took off on my last flight, I used TO/GA for initial thrust setting, climbed to around 1500ft and hit the VNAV button. The VNAV button turned on, and appeared to be wor…

Hi!Maybe this isn't the correct place to post this, but since most 737 buffs hang around here I'll give it a try! Recently saw a short segment about the 737-800 on a swedish tv motorshow called prestanda (a swedish and quite terrible version of the wonderful topgear show) and they went on about how expensive aircraft stuff were, for example just the wall-holder to the stewards intercom phone was something like $2000, as were just one overhead bin handle. An LCD screen for the IFE was something like $28000!!! :( I mean a/c stuff is expensive but that? Does anyone know if those prices are even close to the truth?

I noticed that the tires on the 737s are stored outside-in other words they are not pulled all the way up in to the fuselage, like most other passenger jets. I have often wondered how how come the tires do not burst once the plane reaches higher altitudes where the pressure is much lower. I am guessing the tires are strong enough to handle the difference in air pressure, right? I figured that in other planes the compartments that hold the landing gear was pressurized, but maybe not since the 737s tires are exposed.Richard

I am still experimenting with the FMC in the -600 NG and trying to find a way to prompt the generation of an OPT ALT range in flight, but without loading a flightplan into the FMC. Is this possible? I am flying via MCP and have made initial entries into the FMC for INIT etc. but no OPT ALT data has appeared.Appreciate info/advice, thanks!Jonathan

Hello, I know this is a little out of topic but I fly alot online and have to do the flight plan before I can fly. The only problem I have is with the stars, to get a star I need to know what the active arival runway is and that is where I am lost. any help would be great. some times I guess and could have used a different star to approach. is there any easy way to get this info to plan the rout. Thanks in advanceKen

Captains-We discovered that a minor conflict was causing the PMDG EXPRESS B1900D installer to fail on some customers machines. That problem has been addressed and the installer is back in the file library again. This change is completely transparent to you, the user- it was just a minor code change to the isntaller itsle-f the contents of the update has not changed. If you updated succesfully already- you do not need this file.If you had problems getting the B1900D updater to run- then try this new one. ;-)

Hi,To whomever else has found the cabin pressure bug (reading too high of an altitude) in addition to myself, I've found that this problem only occurs when flying a model with a clickable VC and the 800/900 update installed. If I fly with a 2D panel only model the problem is not there. Therefore, I would assume that this bug was introduced with the clickable cockpit VC models in the 800/900 update. The 1.3 version of 737-700 (without a clickable VC) works perfectly in regard to cabin pressure altitude readings. In addition, I've noticed that when I fly a 2D cockpit model only that the cabin pressure reads zero before takeoff even at above sea level altitudes whereas the…

Hello,I recently had a pilot friend who is type-rated on the 737NG's fly my PMDG 737. Neither of us could find a way to accurately trim the aircraft for level flight; it appeared to have pitch instablity of some kind. We noticed that even with autothrottles engaged and holding constant IAS, the aircraft could not be trimmed out to level flight.I'm using a Saitek X-45 joystick and have it programmed with pitch trim on one of the hat buttons via FSUIPC, carefully calibrated by the same. I have pitch trim set to one increment per button press. How are you guys managing to trim out your 737's?Thanks very much.

Hi,I have some questions about FSBuild2.1(just purchased!), and would appreciate any advice you can offer. If you think this post would be better addressed to the FSBuild forum, please say so, but I know there is a lot of experience with this program right here. I have read through the user guide(quickly) and performed a forum search, but I haven't found any answers yet. Anyway, here goes...1. After a clean install of the downloaded program, I notice that many of the data files in the FSBuild main directory are duplicated in the UserGuide subdirectory, eg EuropeHighAlt, FSB_SIDs, etc, etc. Why is this? Can I remove the ones in the UserGuide subdirectory?2. I've also down…

Hello,Upon arriving at my destination with the PMDG 737, the FMS will frequently display 'end of flight' and blank out programmed waypoints while I am still airborne and before even turning on final approach heading. This recently happened when I was in a radar vectored downwind, abeam my landing runway centerpoint and about 10 miles laterally offset from the runway. The FMS erased 2 waypoints on my final approach ILS when this happened. Is this a known bug?Thank you.

Comming from the PS1 "World", but also being a devoted PMDG 737 NG user, I am naturaly placing big expectations on the upcoming b744 release from PMDG.I am sure that the Flight Director implementation in the 744 will be as good as the best we have had in the all history of MSFS - the one that was first introduced with the 737 NG series, in wich I am able to place the airplane on the rw centerline even under strong crosswinds, just "flying the FD" like in TRW!Now, we all know that MSFS has a lousy ground physics implementation, where no matter how good you design an aircraft, it will slip sideways in the rw under crosswind effects during landing & takeoff. But we also …

I'm a bit confused when it comes to DH, MDA (or MA?), MINS (which you can set BAR or RADIO). All these things have to do with a missed approach (if I'm not mistaken), but... why can you choose (if I'm not mistaken again) between DH and MDA...? What's the difference? And what is the exact function of the MINS...? Is that your MA height? Or the DH height?Maybe someone can explain this or point me to a sitte which explains it all...

Once more helloI posted an example of an unflyable VNAV approach already a few days ago. Got no answer from PMDG!Therefore i decided to post Another example!I tried something simple: ILS34L in Seattle (KSEA). After takeoff up to 5000. and then via downwind to the approach transition to final. I only used LOC/VOR mode for lateral nav and VNAV for descend. All points and altitudes were calculated by FMC. And eventhough the V/S on DES page seems to be correct the VDEV bar on the ND was always ways to low!The preset runway elevation was correct an the altitudes gave me a FPA for the approach of about 3.4 degrees which would mean that I would fly above the G/S so why is the VD…

Because all checklists I could find didn't contain everything I needed AND because I got fed up with flying with all printed manuals on my lap and having to look through all of them just to get the simple info I needed...;) , I made a checklist of my own for the PMDG 737NG. It contains ONLY things you HAVE to do: I left out everything you just have to check. With this checklist I can get the plane started from a cold and dark cockpit in no time and shut down too. This isn't meant to be an official checklist (!): as soon as I know it all by heart I will start using the official checklists. It also contains a lot of info mormally not found on checklists. This could be calle…
