Hi,I have a problem with the FMC of the 737...I have the current AIRAC Navdata, and I unzipped all the little .txt documents from the PMDG website into the SIDSTARS folder as told. However, when I open the FMC, put in a departure and arrival airport, press Route, Dep to try to choose a SID, there are none there. Also, whenever I put in an airport (any airport) it always says "err at fix line ###" What's going on? Thanks.

Hi guys, I can't seem to engage the 2nd Autopilot on approach mode on the PMDG737 (hence no autoland, and I read, no GA mode) Does anyone here have similar problems?Oh.. hehe and about TOGA. I'm reading from a manual this.. "TOGA requires dual AP operation and cannot be engaged until FLARE (on FMA) is annunciated or after touchdown" I interpret it as this.. since FLARE is annunciated at 50ft AGL, then if I decide to GA, I have to wait between 50ft and the ground?whoa. COuld someone please enlighten me on this? many thanks!mike

I hope someone can help me.I am new to FS and have recently purchased the PMDG 737. The problem I am having is when I create a flight plan using FSNavigator 4.6, I cant seem to use the A/p option within the navigator program. This in turn means I am unable to fly using the autopilot and route created in FSNavigator.I would appreciate any help that you can give me.Thanks,Richard Forster

Perhaps it's already been answered, but I couldn't find an answer, so I'll ask anyway.After the initial descent, the FMC will calculate a constant descent for the rest of your route. So, for example, if I'm told to cross such and such fix at FL240 the first step down from cruise to FL240 will be, ideally, a N2-idle descent, right? And then if the next expected crossing restriction on the route is 10,000, the VNAV profile will set a constant descent from the FL240 point to 10,000, regardless of how shallow the descent might be? Is there a way to override this and ask the FMC to compute another ToD?In my first several flights I'm finding that ATC (VATSIM) give me descent…

hello folks out there im having a problem with the fmc , when i go to load a plan into the fmc it will tell me its not in the data base.i loaded KIND into it and it says is not in the data base , in fact whatever i load into the fmc i get the same thing not in the data base .i have the latest updates installed.can someone tell me what is the problem.thanks........Robert

Hi !I haven't been on site for a while and i'm happy to see new informations and first pics on the 747 Project, but i've noticed that there's still no Release Date announced. In the past the release was dated sometime in Summer. As i now developers don't like release dates it would be nice to if it will take more or less that 2 Months, just to have an idea about the release date.Thanks a lot and good luck for the 747.Marcello

I just landed after a enjoyable flight from DFW to ATL. My Active Sky gave me a couple of nice Thunderstorms on the way along with some Turbulence and everything was uneventful until I positioned my self on the approach to 8L at Atlanta. I heard approach talking to all these other Ultimate Traffic Delta planes and it seemed at one point that they were clearing the entire Delta Fleet to intercept the ILS from about 24 miles out. Wait a minute, I am about 24 miles out!!!!! . :( Now I intercept the ILS and I am watching the targets in TCAS like a hawk, and I hear Traffic , Traffic, and the VSI is flashing red and I hear " Pull Up" and I look at what appears to be ab…

How can I change the data in the FMC?While I am flying, I am told by ATC to expect a runway to land on.Due to circumstances it is possible ATC assigns another runway to me. How can I change this information in the FMC? I can't find this information in a tutorial.Grtz,

Hi all,I did a recording of these starnge sounds coming from the flight deck however Im not sure I can upload them on here well see shortly. As for the sounds well I get all sorts of stuff. EG a seat belt sign pong random engine sounds reving up and down and back up again. and a very anoying crackling or hissing in the back ground. All of which only happens with the PMDG B1900 EXPRESS. So far it ha sbeen able to cancel a good few flights. Now Im not sure if this can be to do with performance issues or what but to be honest im having trouble reinstalling my ATI graphics drivers as what im getting now is not as smooth and as pleasant as it used to be.I just thought I…

I'm flying the WestJet 737-700 and have put my face on the Captain's head using Photoshop. However, the original model of the Captain in this livery is a female with long hair. Is there a file I can replace in this livery with a male head who has short hair?Strange question - I know. Thanks ...Jay

At what point do you engage the A/P during the climb mode??. Also, does the PMDG 737 NG 700 series LNAV & VNAV function like the real thing. The reason I'm asking this question is that I have a chance for some 737 NG 700 series or 800 simulator time and I want to practice take-offs & landings. I don't want to do something that the real sim does but the PMDG doesn't....Can you identify these areas? I'am currently flying the PMDG 700 series and have not as yet upgraded to the 800...Should I, in view of the upcoming level D opportunity, or will the 700 satisfy realistic a/c systems functionality..If you could, please outline the progressive steps that you take on a …

Does anyone know if there is something i can download where i can find out the active runway at my destination airport or what about a webstie that has the atis info typed so i dont have to plan the approach so close to the airport by waiting until im close to listen to atis. I have been debating whether or not to get some rudder pedals for the PMDG. I have no trouble landing now in a crosswind and I am assuming that the only real use for the rudder pedals is to kick the yaw axis around to aligned with the runway as you touch down and steer for takeoff and after landing. When I flew Major Airline Sim a few years ago ( 767-400), the Check pilot had me use stabs of rudder on short final to keep aligned with the runway heading. He said this would reduce the chance of doing aileron rolls on short final :). Would this same method be used in the PMDG? I am just leary of buying the pedals and then finding out that I only use them for about 5 sec…

I know there have been a lot of congratulatory notes to PMDG for their success with the 737 NG series, but I must add mine as well. In Canada, one of our new airlines, WestJet, flies the 737-700. I had an opportunity to visit the flight deck on a recent flight and I must say that the accuracy of the panel, sounds and flight model is right on.I have always wanted to become an airline pilot, but will likely never make it ... and I want to say thanks to PMDG for creating this product as it is the closest I will ever get to flying a real airliner.Congratulations, PMDG!Jay http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/86234.jpg

PMDG,We've seen some great screenshots of Liveries that were Painted by Pete and John for quite some time now, but no sign of them in the file section. Any idea on how much longer before they are released? I'm Anxiously awaiting a few of those.If I'm not mistaken, none have been released since 5/4/2004Looking forward to seeing them.

I have all variants of the 737NG on my system.Generally the aircraft behaves properly in every way and I am most happy with it. However, and there always seams to be an however when someone is happy and starts a post, occasionally I have a problem with the throttle advance.This problem occurs when I have shutdown and unloaded FS. The next time I load and go from 'cold and dark' to taxiing as I advance the throttle levers N1 rises to in a yoyo fashion from 20.* to about 24 to 26 and a horn sounds intermittently. I have Flaps set for takeoff but no matter how far I advance the throttle it never gets above 24 to 26. If I shut down FS and reload everything works OK.The hard p…
