It's not specific to XP12 because unfortunately if you play with the weather configuration menu in MFS, which is more sophisticated regarding turbulence, you get pretty much the same effects if you make it stronger, although overall I find it more convincing in the way it affects the aircraft in MFS, even if overdone... In XP you do not have the same modulation parameters though, and it's all associated to a number whose value translates into turbulence intensity. Problem is, in XP (and in MFS) the programmers haven't been able to capture what turbulence is and how it affects an aircraft aerodynamically. In XP it makes it look like if it wasn't 6DOF, and you ge…

Seeing some cool shots. Just wondering is the weather engine in the sim smart enough to depict snow on the ground based on the real world weather report (pretty much like MSFS)?

In order to have two separate views (one for the cockpit and one for the external view) I would like to purchase a second license of X-Plane 12 and run the two instances on one pc and two monitors. Could someone tell me if is it possible and how to set up the network? Ferdi

Looking for an Air Manager overlay for the Reality-XP GTN 650. One is available for the GTN 750 and I’ve seen a YouTube demo of one someone built for the 650. But I’ve found no source to download. Anyone know?

X-Aviation.org sent me this flash sale announcement on saturday Jan 14 at 22:00 west european time, valid during only 8 hours. When I read this mail on sunday morning, the 20% discount was not valid any more. These people do not realize that the world does not end at the last MacDonnald on the east and west coast. I always have a good laugh at people's stupidity 🤣😂 MU-2 v2 Flash Sale Today only. Hurry before it ends! Jean-Jacques

Hello, If anyone interested in this area, can download this airfiled. The Barberton Greenbelt is a beautiful mountain range. I like to fly the helis down here. Though to the east it's a flat land, which leads to the Kruger Park. ICAO ( FUHC ) - Graskop , South Africa. Please stdby for the upload...... Once the upload is done will post the details. Needs some proper unwrap properly and change and adjustment of certain textures. It's mostly a PBR airfield. Here is the URL to see the screenshots : https://imgur.com/a/YUqFWUr Was not able to embed the screenshots, hence I have just pasted the direct link above. Orthos recomme…

Laminar have not specifically stated that they have adopted True Sky Clouds but looking closely at the clouds and general weather issues, I am struck by the very close similarity to True Sky that LM introduced into P3DV5. All the same problems are evident. Particularly after a long flight from Australia to the Philippines today. It seems that the cloud displayed below F200 is generally ok and more than quite acceptable but it seems to me that neither Laminar or LM have managed to deal with the issue of high level cloud or Cirrus clouds succesfully, well not yet. So here is an out of the window screenshot at FL310 In a life time of real world aviation…

Guys, I've been with X-Plane for just three weeks, after I got a refund from Microsoft and uninstalled MSFS 2020. Please be patient with me. During night time the buttons on autopilot panel are not lit. I mean those green lights - perfectly working and seen at day time - they don't come up at night time. It is not a drama as all information is on EADI panel. But those lit buttons would be convenient. I would appreciate your assistance in this matter. Thanks!

When setting a flight plan using the GTN 750 it does not work together/connecting with the G1000 and/or the Auto Pilot.

There seems to be some misinformation posted in various threads about DLSS, and games/flight sims that some people think, need it. Posts made by people who don't really know what FSR and DLSS does. Particularly people who think X-Plane needs DLSS, and if it doesn't use it, it's obsolete. As a matter of fact, FSR is far more important in moving forward, due to it's advancements and compatibility with both AMD and nvidia GPU's. As the article states: If you have access to DLSS, you should use it. The days of buying an Nvidia GPU specifically for DLSS are over, though. With FSR 2.0’s impressive image quality, you can still access high-quality supersampling reg…

I am looking for a free or reasonably priced app for flight planning, flight map following, and flight plan upload to X-Plane 11. I've tried FltPlan Go on my Android tablet and it works well, except there is apparently no way to upload the flight plan to X-Plane. I have tried Pilot2ATC but it does not have an Android version. I have tried SpaceDisk in conjunction with Pilot2ATC which works well, but still requires you to have Windows running in order to get Pilot2ATC on the tablet, limiting use to your local network. Anyone have recommendations for an Android app which will do all of the above - map following, flight plane creation and upload to X-Plane 11, and r…

I have about a hundred hours flying IRL and I really appreciate the 'realism' of XP-12. I was scud running the C-172 into KOKB (Oceanside, CA) but it wasn't working out so I air filed an IFR clearance to nearby KCRQ and climbed up into the clouds. I'm hand flying while setting things up for the ILS and I spent just a tad too long focusing on something in the cockpit. Out of the corner of my eye I could see I'm still in a solid overcast. Then all of a sudden I came out of the bottom of the overcast at about 400-feet AGL in a death spiral I never saw coming. I immediately started a recovery but it was too late. And all I thought in those last few seconds was, "Oh sh$#T, …

For those of you who flew Heli in XP11 what is your impression of it in XP12? I have CowanSim 206B3 that has been updated for XP12 Beta 4. I don't have dedicated Heli equipment, just using a simple Thrustmaster hotas ONE with centering spring removed from joystick. I am finding it extremely challenging and difficult to land on a small platform/helipad. I am trying to follow all the recommendation speed, procedure etc. It gets a bit easier with VR with depth perception but not by much. What is surprising is same setup and Heli, it is many times easier in other sim. Is Heli sim in XP12 a no go without dedicated equipment (collective with a wide range) or are…

If I was not impressed by XPlane 12 before now, I was after this little flight. Thought I would do the Mach Loop out of RAF Valley in the C172 just to get used to more stuff like the aeroplanes themselves. (Other stuff like getting a flight plan preprepared into the GPS not the UMS, charts onto the Tablet etc - lot of prep required sometimes in XPlane) Flight started and it was raining but low cloud and looking decidedly non VFR to the South where I had to go.Had a go only got to about 30 nm south of EGOV before deciding to call it a day and go back. Heavy rain pounded the aeroplane, turbulence and thunderstorms. Vis deteriorating to less than 1000m at times. Eventually d…

Good evening(+7) When flying a flight plan with real weather and winds of 40-45KT, very often the AP disconnects during the flight specially during climb. The same flight with no weather installed, clear sky, all goes smooth. Is there a bug with rough weather and AP engaged? Now I checked again and the plane is full of ice! This must be the reason (pitot was one at departure). I was flying LFMP-LFBO real weather at 9.000feet! Thank you for your attention Jean Paul Reuland
