New to XPlane and only XP!2. Been through a couple of updates for the Beta - each iteration gets better and better. Some Observations - the default terrain and landclass and general layout seems very good to me. Apart from a few more accurate airports yet to see a need for a lot of airport addons (yet). Put in a few though for out of the way places just to tidy them up a little. The latest update released today refined the cockpit lighting issues (to an extent - same as P3D dark cockpits but at least none of that glare outside) so not to bad now not perfect. Cloud and weather remains spot on if you use the real weather download facility. Now what has really caught my eye…

After almost 1 month with XP12 and MFS, and after 2 long weeks away from my sim puter, I consumed pretty much all of yesterday's afternoon playing both sims. Started with that nasty Win 11 22H2 update, which caused weirdiness the first time I ran MFS, including some graphics glitches, then a frther update appeared to fix it, and whn both sims were "stable" I went flying circuits in bad weather ( thx to badbadweather and skyvector ). I used the default C172 on both sims, and also the Fenix A320 and the Toliss A319 for airliner "tests". Had been exchnaging some messages with Alec who has reported some findings regarding limitations in the present XP12 FM, and…

Many of us have heard of Helios Airways flight 522. The same can happen in X-Plane 12. AFAIK no other commercially available general purpose flight sim can do that.

I have an issue with the Flyjsim Q4XP. The entire time the plane is in the air and not on autopilot, it slowly banks to the right and I have to input left to keep it level. It's almost like the plane is right wing heavy. I've recalibrated my joystick, checked fuel levels, trim, weather...found nothing suspicious. Is this normal behaviour for turboprops? I don't remember it being like this in XP11.

470mb patch size Release candidate 3 Lighting: The auto-exposure system is still being modified; RC3’s light levels are the same as RC1/RC2. Third party developers can get detailed notes on the state of lighting and how to update in the X-Plane developer lobby. RC3 does change how brightness is managed in glass displays; authors should enter the real world max luminance of their displays. We expect to be able to re-enable auto-exposure to improve the look of the sim under various lighting conditions next week. Flight model: Airfoil critical mach number improved. Transsonic airflow over wings improved, p…

Don't know if I'm allowed to post the link, but if you search for "Enhanced Flight Model" in the "General Aviation XP12" section at the .org, you can download a fine flight model mod for the default Super Cub, made by user Voidhawk9.

So, after not using XP12 for a while, I have a now a very similar problem to this: Anyone experiencing this? Happens with the Toliss A340 as well. Edit: this seems to be caused by live traffic plugin, or at least it is not present when there is no AI traffic around. Weird.

On Xplane 11, whenever I change my screen resolution from the default, the game freezes, goes black, and clicking anywhere even after waiting several minutes crashes the game.

Tempted to buy Airport Enhancement Package as it would upgrade all default airports with better textures. I would like to hear opinions from users who have this in XP12, is it really worthed or something you hardly even notice? I mostly fly from/to smallish airports where the default scenery depiction is very basic and often several years old. Thanks for any feedback

this is for real pilots who use X plane too... it really helps to use zoom on final approach for visibility...but if its not realistic its not a good habit former for people who want to fly real planes also at some point.. if you are a pilot or commercial pilot especially..do you think its better to skip the zoom or is some zoom more realistic than the 0 zoom setting on say any of the twin general aviation planes like the Baron 58 or Cessna twins or even a 172,,,?

I was going through the X-Plane 12 beta forum at the org, and a post from a community leader "Janov" caught my eye. This is his reply to one of the poster who appreciated the extremely realistic sun glare present in X-Plane 12. " You will be dismayed to hear that Laminar is getting pushed extremely hard by the majority of (layman) users to "fix" this problem, because they can´t see inside the cockpit when flying towards the sun. Most real pilots know that this is a real world problem - but who wants real world problems when flying around for fun on your desktop simulator😉? " To provide a bit of context here. I myself have seen people complaini…
