Opinions on AEP for XP12

Featured Replies

Tempted to buy Airport Enhancement Package as it would upgrade all default airports with better textures.

I would like to hear opinions from users who have this in XP12, is it really worthed or something you hardly even notice?
I mostly fly from/to smallish airports where the default scenery depiction is very basic and often several years old.

Thanks for any feedback

I tried it a month ago and saw a FPS hit. Wasn't sure if it was from the texture/model improvements or if it was a beta thing so I removed it for the time being. Could have also been because I was at a bigger airport.

Does look good though.

Hangar textures look terrrible, way too much dirt/smudge.

I have AEP for XP11 and it was worth every penny.  However LR already updated the default airport "old" textures so AEP is redundant for XP12.

System Spec 2: AMD Radeon RX 7900XT, Intel I-9 9990K, Res 3840x1080, HP Reverb G2

I have it but have disabled it for several reasons.  Firstly it uses just over 1Gb of valuable VRAM, secondly I found the textures to be too 'dirty' and the small FPS hit.

I have just completed a thorough review of my settings for ortho and graphics so I can maintain at least a stutter free 40fps.  I decided the 1Gb VRAM AEP uses is more valuable for ortho.
