(LOL at the topic title). Reading the forums, I understand that A2A has gone great lenghts to assure that its new C172 has a flight model as accurate as possible, doing a lot of flight tests, doing accurate measurements of maneuverability and performance, etc. So the consensus seems to be that the A2A C172 flight model is the most accurate for FSX. Now, it's really interesting to note that the common early "complaints" about its flight model are _exactly_ the same complaints have historically been made about X-Plane flight models: .) "too twitchy", "flight controls too sensitive" (read this topic: http://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=107&t=36223…

Are there any puffer experts among us, here at AVSIM? I need some puffer classes in order to start working on a Puffer-base tweak for prop aircraft in X-Plane 10. The main objective is to place at least one puffer, maybe more, at strategically defined points of the fuselage, wings, fins, in order to simulate the asymmetric slipstream forces acting on those points and causing yaw, and also somehow overriding part of the rolling tendencies, and plausibly requiring the use of rudder to counter prop effects, more than aileron or aileron trim ( specially on aircraft that do not even have aileron trim... ). I know that the XPFR Sbach 300 uses Puffers, but I need to …

Now that all the fleet is now version 2, what could we expect next for XP10? There are no news for long time. And what about Alabeo? Do they updated their models too? Sent from my GT-I9500 using Tapatalk

Hi everyone! Im a veteran FSX user that just made the switch over to x-plane. i had a very easy install and upgrade, all my saitek controls, yoke, pedals, and trim wheel all connected just fine, however the problems started after i attempted to lift off the cessna 172 during a trial flight. The aircraft simply rolls left and wont stop rolling despite attempting to trim out the roll or even hold the yoke full right and pedals full right. I slid all of the sliders in joystick setup to the right, i calibrated all of the controls, i read about normal flight drift and control,( i have 6 hours in the 172), i recalibrated the controls,i set a null zone to help out, i tried num…

I'm looking for inputs, I have a few Carenado V2.0 models (Bonanza+172) and although I enjoy them I would not proclaim them as AoTY.

With some thread drift, leading back to roll in the Cessnas........here is a shortfield takeoff video in a Cessna. This is where torque effect would be the highest, as you rotate at a lower airspeed, with full power. Notice the yoke movement at rotation and climbout. Does your simulated plane, need more constant deflection to the right, than what's shown here?

Howdy, X-Planers, According to Ben Supnik there are over 250 airports with buildings that have been submitted by the community and which are included with 10.25. On his blog, Ben showed screenshots for four of them, which he identified. In answer to a question in the comments section, he said he will publish an ICAO list. We all know that Ben is a busy guy, but we don't know when he'll be able to get around to doing that. In the meantime, I have a suggestion. As we X-Plane users discover them why don't we post them in this thread? Then we can all benefit in more quickly discovering these new additions. Let's start with Ben's examples I mentioned above: They …

Hi WED developers, I´m working on a project to develop a new scenery of EDAZ (Schoenhagen) and I´ve constructed the airfield facilities with WED (thx for this great tool!). In EDAZ, we have some taxisigns designating an intersection departure point. They include the available runway length in meters: Unfortunately the desription language allows only capital letters - so the "m" is not shown: // image deleted by moderator (exceeds 1600 px width) -- please see the AVSIM image posting policy in the "Forums" dropdown menu // Is there a way to display the letter "m" on the sign ({@Y} clause)? Thx and regards Nils

Hi x-planer 10-ers, What is the easiest way to edit the elevation points / meshes of the underlying terrain at a certain part of an existing runway? (Without unchecking the 'runways follow terrain contours' option -which won't work in my case anyway-)? I'm using in my v.10 some very nice custom sceneries from v.9 but every now and then you can see mesh anomalies in the middle of a runway (such as terrain surges looking like sea waves). I just want to make the runway usable for aircraft landings and take offs, I don't care about correcting any similar anomalies in the surrounding airport area. Thanks for your help in advance

Dear Friends I bought a new PC and a XPlane10, so I wanto to install the XPlane in a SSD alone, the Drive has 240Gb there are enought room for the simulator, but I need help. In hte FSX I can Install it un a SSD alone just to create a folder FSX and tell to the installer put the FSX in that file. but is it the same procedure for XPlane? Because when I read in the box install inside the PC I thougt that I need to install it in the main Drive where I have de Windows 7, and this is my doubt, and if this XPlane is compatible with 64 Bit Windows 7?. If somebody want to help me I really appreciate this. Thanks a Lot Octavio Adrian Argentina

I have loaded a flight plan into the FMC. I flew the plan and it worked fine except. At every waypoint I had to set the new altitude and speed as indicated on the LEGS page of the FMC. I have pressed the CLB/CON button. I thought that was supposed to follow the altitude and speed from the FMC. LNAV and VNAV is on. Below is my sequence after positive rate of climb. Should A/T be off for the CLB/CON to work? What am I missing? Thanks in advance to all who reply. Bill Takeoff Procedures: After Positive Rate Of Climb: Gear up. A/P ON A/T ON. CLB/CON FLAPS UP

I was missing a good Pc-12, since I used the Flight1 model for FSX. Today I decided to give the Sgier a try, and so far am very well impressed with a short test flight. There is a whole manual to read, specially for the NG version, but I really like it's handling! Ah! Excellent documentation on the Pc-12 included with this model, and lifetime update ( not just restricted to the X-Plane 10 cycle )! http://x-plane.sgier.com/pc-12.html

I know it is a bit expensive, the base module costing around 70$, and the add-on panels each 35$+, but I have been watching various demos in Youtube, and I really like what I see. They have good GNS and G1000 (also Entegra I believe) implementations, and is we buy a few add-ons we will certainly spend that amount of money. The aircraft models are custom designed to go with the panel, which is perfectly ok to me, provided they behave acceptably ( hence the seek for comments from active FlyThisSim line of products users... ) Thx

Well things have finally progressed to the point to warrant an update to you all. Right now we have a fully functional UI, MAC/PC support in both 64-32bit glory and a few complement of tweaks for you to enjoy. I am just going to post a few screenies highlighting our progress..... First thing is first here is a look at the UI, this has developed directly VIA feedback I have got from the community. Its pretty straight forward and gives a good amount of control over performance and visual settings. Don't pay attention to those numbers they are only there for the support document.... And on with the series...... And a new one …

http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?showtopic=70917#entry767687 Just as any of Chuck's Articles ! And yet another very interesting article at the .org by Phillip, co-author of the FF 777 and upcoming 757, who just got his PPL :-) http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?showtopic=70126#entry761025 I do believe that, contrarily to what most tend to defend, having good PC-based flightsim experience does help you learn how to fly for real, snd not only proceduraly speaking, but rather in the acquisition of good flight techniques under the most different situations! The only difference between flying a good flight simulator and flying in RL (when simple control…
