I know that in the X-Plane 10 video the visuals and sounds were obliterated by the fact that it's in playback mode, but, look at the captain yoke during both landings :-) In RL: ===== http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=t7ssgCKrgvs or http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=A3MkQQ_jbFA in XP10 with the LES Saab: ===================== http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=1WR-WSEZsm8 I was about to comment on the strange forward yoke inputs in the XP10 video - it's our deformed ( glider ) pilot mind tendency to find awful giving manche on final, or even worse, during the flar…

I thought Avsim wanted to serve the X-Plane community better, one way of doing that is informing the sim community of release of groundbreaking aircraft simulations like the SAAB340A. It is a great achievement and deserves attention.

This is the only thing stopping me from buying it, the sound. I have been fiddling around with the demo for about a week now, I really do like the sim, but the engine sounds are appalling! I've been trying different freeware aircraft sounds etc but it still sounds just awful. Is there any sort of fix for this? New sound engine? Or at least an enhanced one. If there is, it's a definite purchase for me Any ideas?

Ok guys, the title says it all. As many of you know, I keep an X plane blog here at Avsim. Now its been a rocky start, with my first opting coming just a month or so from my vacation time. Add to that a busy work shedule on my return and you've got what's up there now. Very little. My intent was to look, pry and generally explore XPX from a new pilots prospective, and in the last week I've been adding to my tuning guide (not really an great discription of what it is, but the closest I could think of). It's been a hard slog and I've little to how for it right now. That's when it hit me. One of the problems of being a reviewer is you spend time testing, deliberatly try…

This was not my idea, but the idea of ASN-XP (I "only" sent them the screenshots) ... but maybe you are - still - interested in them. Exclusive “alpilotx.net” HD Scenery Mesh v2 screenshots Part I Exclusive “alpilotx.net” HD Scenery Mesh v2 screenshots Part II But I hope, that these will be the last preview shots ... I have some hopes, that I might be - finally - able to release in 4-6 weeks. And remember to do your last OSM additions, as I will make a final OSM data import in a week!

Is there a way two use two monitors with X-Plane, on one CPU, with the mouse controlling flight? The manual says you can have a second IOS window, but then the mouse cannot control flight. I tried it anyway, and it was very cumbersome; I didn't even get to the mouse controlling flight part. -Scott

Does anyone know of a 208 that will function in 64bit? I purchased the Carenado version but sadly it does not function properly in 64bit. Flying in 32 bit is not an option for me due to some plug in issue's. thanks, Scot

of my trolling against X-Plane's overdone torque effects :-( I feel miserable, believe me.... I got that gorgeous A2A C172, where A2A is applying all of their expertise trying ( and certainly managing to... ) reproduce the flight / engine / etc... characteristics of a C172R. Well, three patches have been released since the initial version, dealling primarily with some problems with the instruments panel and the brakes, and some not so well accepted control sensitivity ( à-la X-plane :-) ), and from patch to patch this aircraft is becoming an even better model, but, I had a problem with it since day 1... It banked a LOT, even more than the default C172 on X-P…

Incompatibility betweem MU2J and the DC3. I have finally tracked down the cause of loosing the yokes animation, and other functionalities, when I install de MU2J and the DC3 in a given sequence. If I install the MU2J first and then the DC3, my MU2J will have it's yoke frozen and some other functionalities will also most probably be lost, but the yokes work in the DC3. If I do it opposite, install first the DC3 and then the MU2J, the DC3 yokes will be lost ( frozen ) as well as clearly the engine operation limitations because I can takeoff and push the engines to the limits without any risk of failure. I am sure this has to do with the GIZMO versions instal…

I'm ready to buy the Saab but would really like to use it to log some Pireps for my VA, however, with out a 64bit Vatsim Client it looks like a killjoy at the moment. I read of progress towards a solution this several months ago but nothing since. It's a shame really cause I don't like using 32bit Xplane. I really can't believe there still isn't a plugin or client of some sort available yet. I know about Pilotedge; unfortunately my VA won't allow for filing Pireps from there. Does anyone have any knowledge they can share with regard to a 64bit Vatsim Client?

Does X-Plane have an equivalent to SimConnect that can output data to a separate application (.exe) and, if so, is there any documentation available for a non-X-Plane user?

I'm unable to buy it right now... While I have to wait for funds :-), I would really like to ear from the users regarding the Saab 340 flight characteristics :-) - I already know Goran took care of the unfamous "torque bug" :-), which is always good to know... - Since the T700 is free-runing, I wonder how deep the simulation goes trying to overcome the core limitations of X-Plane ( does FF vary with Prop RPM changes, flying straigh & level and without any power adjustments)? - Is there any noticeable impact from the use of the anti-ice systems in engine performance? What about bleed air and it's impact (thx anthony_d ) ? - Are failures modelled?

I downloaded a 'bus' 320 (freeware) today, and after flying a big iron route, decided to place myself into a seat just aft of the left wing, in the rendered cabin. After getting myself set up in height and such, and with looking out the window upon the rear edge and flaps of the left wing...hit 'let A.I. fly your plane'. I had a ball, as XPX in A.I. control mode took me..er..'us'...out of the gate with A.T.C. happening between the A.I. flight crew (female on this trip) to our active at Pearson International (CYYZ), Toronto, and taxied to the active. It felt so real world, as the wing view out the passenger window swung into alignment on the runway. We started our roll…

Hi all I recently upgraded to XP 10 and have noticed that the Track IR has a tendency to vary wildly when in the virtual cockpit. It seems that a slight movement causes it to move to the extremes when inside a virtual cockpit, Cessna for example. It doesn't take much and it is hard to control as it seems to move all over the place. I don't have this kind of trouble with my Track IR in FSX. Thanks!

To help us streesing ut of the wait for 10.30, I would suggest a very interesting reading at the upcoming IL2-Sturmovik Developers Blog. It discusses modern flight dynamics and overall physics modeling used on simulators like FSX, X-Plane, DCS and this new IL2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad. The team behind it is the same of the original IL2, and that of Rise of Flight. http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/168-developer-diary/#entry29343 It starts at this post, and continues... Read the most you can - very very informative :-) Notice also the resemblance of the approach followed by both DCS and this new sim with X-Plane's approach! My dreamer heart got …
