Guys, as far as I'm concerned, there is nothing now that can keep me away from starting XP10 and pick a good GA for a morning flight :-) There was that problem, until yesterday, and I confess that most of the time, although the rest of the feel was good, the looks were great too, and some models are really a charm to see and operate in XP10, that "bug" still kept me away from it most of the time... After aplying that "TorqueFix" to all of my prop models ( non counter rotating) and observing the thrust and power figures with and without the fix applied, after making all sorts of tests that came to my mind, the truth is - just as much as some say FTX Global tur…

Sometimes I wonder what Austin sims in his spare time at home  I wonder if he flies DCS or maybe even Prepar3D. Maybe he's a big Farm Sim fan or Euro Truck man.

Hi folks, I'm new to X-Plane 10 but been flying FSX and older MS generation sims for many years and I have the Carenado C210 Centurion II loaded for both FSX and X-Plane 10. So my problem is that in X-plane, this C210 banks left constantly with about 5-10 degrees per second role rate with full power and when I reduce power to idle, it'll start to bank right at the same rate. Now, at cruise once power and prop have been adjusted, it'll level out the wings but this is not very realistic compared to the real aircraft. How do I know? Because I fly 182's and 206's. I know the 210 has more power but the roll rate should not be that fast and normally there isn't muc…

This post may belong in the hardware forums, but since it's XPX specific (I can never get FSX to push my GPU to it's limits), I'll try here. I am running a GTX580 with 3GB of memory. I have noted that when using the excellent B77W from Ramzess that my GHPU fan gets up enough speed to become clearly audible. I loaded GPU-Z and found that after using this a/c in XPX for 15 minutes that my "GPU temperature" gets to 87C, with a fan speed of 3090 RPM (53%). When the PC is idle, it's 58C, with the fan at 2,250 RPM (36%). I am running water cooling on the CPU, with the hot air exhaust from the heat exchanger being delivered into the PC vase, but I have several fans ex…

Well, I am glad FSX users can now feel a bit closer to what X-Plane10 can offer in terms of scenery. Of course they have something we don't yet - seasonal textures - but, I am sure that will come with time. I personally feel released from the burden of having to pay $90+ to get closer to what X-Plane10 offers for free, specially thanks to the work of some users... Let's wait for the populated airfields sent to LR for future integration in the sim default scenery :-) But, honestly, looking at some shots from FTX Global, specially at dusk / night, I prefer the views in my XP10...

I'd like to obtain photoreal scenery. I've seen g2xpl mentioned in various threads. However, it's not obvious where to get the program. Does it exist? Thanks Mark

What should be the first few things I do for the sim? Not looking to spend any money on this platform yet as I plan to use it for General Aviation flying.. while using P3D for my heavies.

While ago I started to fly airliners after my "bush" and "GA" simulating career. Purchased some payware airliners and after using them for a while it reminds me a little bit of a Gold Rush. Authors take their tools and start digging for the money, lol. I constantly change planes because I'm still looking for an airliner that gives me some satisfying moments while flying. Here's what I got: B727: Certainly the best of my payware aircraft. Works as advertised, fun to fly and well done. Too bad the range of the VOR's in XPX make it hard to simulate these retro flights. No paint kit released. I'd like to paint up a few but they want to sell texture packs. Not that the tex…

Lately, whenever starting X-Plane, I am advised that an update is available. After several minutes of going through all the questioning about whether I want to proceed, I am told that I have the latest version (which I already knew) and asks if I want to fly X-Plane. Then it will start all over again, unless I say that I do not want to update. What's going on and how do I stop it (other than just saying no when first asked). Don't want to miss any updates.... Hi all, I found the tire screeching sound irritating. I remember seeing some posts about replacing them with a more realistic sound but search turned up nothing specific. Could you let me know how to do this? Thanks in advance.

the past few days I bought a new payware for my other Sim that starts with a "P" and had a great time looking at the textures BUT grew tired of the rest of the sim with it's performance compared to XP10. I missed the smooth 64bit power, 3D Clouds, HDR Lighting, the real streets and car traffic, etc. etc. I use AS2012 for the other sim but the 2D weird looking wall clouds really turned me off, clouds look better in full 3D 64bit Puffy Love  I know many people hate XP10 clouds but why? They're 3D and the others are 2D Walls when you fly threw them  Tonight I flew XP10 again and WOW did I have a great time. I will still fly my other sims b…

I’ve just started reading through the X-Plane 10 manual (V10.203) I D/L’d from their site, and have ordered the Global Edition. I have a few questions. On Installation: “By default, X-Plane will install to the Desktop. Though it can be installed elsewhere (by clicking the Change Destination button), it is strongly recommended that it be placed on the Desktop so that the folder can be found in the future. When an acceptable location has been selected, click Continue.” I’ve got my W7-64 OS and Word on a 256GB SSD (and programs that load textures into FSX which is on a dedicated 600GB V-rap Drive F). I have a second 600GB V-rap Drive D that is free and where I pl…

Hey guys, I recently started a topic saying I would switch to XPX. I received everything yesterday (GTX 680 ; X-Plane 10) and I installed everything no problem. I loaded up LAX (default) and the 747 (default) and set my joystick and rendering settings. Im getting some pretty bad frames (didnt record FPS the first time) so I ended X Plane and installed the JRollen CRJ (To see if I would have FPS problems) and I am. I then loaded up LAX with the CRJ and was getting 18-24FPS with those settings, now I know the CRJ has an FPS impact but I was thinking i would be able to run that airplane in the default scenery no problem with a little HDR. But I don't know, tell me what you g…

Tha A380 is not cheap, so I'd apreciate if you could answer some questions before I order. I don't think the VC will work with my hardware specifications. Are the fps good in 2d panel? Can I enter waypoints by coordinates into the FMC? Is there some kind of taxi camera or terrain on ND? Thanks in advance.

I'm sorry for posting here something that has been mentioned at another thread - about a visibility plugin for X-Plane 10 - but the fact that I found this NOAA GFS weather injector so great makes me post it here just in case any of you didn't notice it. Don't skip this one. If you want a much better experience of higher level winds, cloud coverage, and even turbulence and temperature, make sure you: 1) Get and install Python for your operating system. Mine is windows 7 64 bit, so I got me this installer: http://www.python.org/ftp/python/2.7.5/python-2.7.5.amd64.msi 2) The Python interface for X-Plane 10 from here: http://www.xpluginsdk.org/python_inter…
