I read your post whereby you said that you don't try to override anything with nVidia Inspector and its Xplane screen. So...I did the same, as you said you did...turned everything off, and had Application Controlled where ever you could select that. The results? BETTER performance or just as clear, the lowest shimmering to date, almost not even there, and I picked up 2 FPS as a freebie! So, I guess you were right to leave rendering to XPX in house and alone. Everybody's postings just make it a better experience every day you come back here Cheers!

After an SAR mission that took many hours for my XP9 disk I started to install it again. As you might know I'm a big fan of Peter's busses and I'm about to go for the A380. When I was at the order page I noticed the system requirements and I don't think I'll have fun on my hardware using it. I have noticed it before, if you turn down XP10 scenery too much it does not look too god and it does not equal the screenshots that you post. So I have to check what looks better, reduced XP10 or more detailed XP9. I assume that the Airbusses will have the same good flight model at both platforms. I have some replacement files for my A320 so it should work. Am I the only …

Hello everyone! As it says in the title, i'm switching to XPX. My previous sim was FSX/P3D, which was great for the addons but horrible for FPS. About 2 weeks ago I downloaded the Xplane 10 demo and it was (still is!) amazing! Just the quality of Seattle with the frames I was getting was just too great. With around everything maxed (except for HDR) I get between 25+ FPS. Now i'm thinking of buying it and making it my perm sim. I will also be buying the 777 addon and the CRJ and possibly a pilot edge sub if i enjoy the trial. I just have a few questions since i'm a complete noob . Whats the difference in all the XPX versions? For example, There is Xplane 10 and Xplane …

So I like to try out X-Plane from time to time to see how it has evolved. With all the talk about how X-Plane is already = FSX+FTX Global, I had to check again. I downloaded the HD Scenery Mesh and Tree Lines and Farms add-on. I also have UrbanMaxx Extreme 2.0 since before, to make cities less like they've been decimated in some apocalyptic event. However one new problem that I don't remember having before is that the Soviets seem to have taken over the whole world. Everywhere, even in fairly small towns, there were large brown and grey soviet-style apartment blocks arranged in Corbusierian Radiant City-fashion. How can I get rid of those? Another problem is that …

Both aircraft are very different with different missions and almost beyond comparison in the RW... but I'm thinking of getting some "heavy metal" for my XPX/ 64 bit sim... both appear to excellent and well done simulations of these 2 amazing a/c, can anyone advise (preferably who have both products) regarding which might be a good introduction into payware heavy metal? In FSX I fly PMDG, RealAir and Milviz stuff almost exclusively, as I like good simulations..... Thanks, Bruce.

For those folk that have it you'll find your emails waiting in your inbox. Finally this plane is ready for X-Plane 10.22. In my hangar that just leaves the DC-3 and a couple of Carenado airframes for the 64bit upgrade. Hoping that'll be happening soon.

Hi folks. I have been painting the Stampe again. The oil tank is 3 D , the "half drop" above is just in the normal. Normal texture for the tail-fairing and for the metal engine-cowling. Painting with a bit "extra", thats really big fun. Cheers Leen "Flybike" de Jager

Thx to MdMax I finally decided to get my hands in the facades :-) and reduce the LODs... As per his suggestion, I turned all LOD values into LOD 0.000000 15000.000000 in the .fac files that come with the OSM sceneries. They came with 25000 (25km), and as I posted at another thread, that made Paris too hot for my rig... I am in Windows, and although I could port the file to a Linux / Unix system and operate my mods there, I decided to use a Windows tool. It is really easy to use! Name: FAR - Find And Replace 1.7 (25-02-2013) Get from: http://findandreplace.sourceforge.net Unpacking the ZIP file will create a folder with the app. No install needed! …

An important plugin has been released for flight simmers that use on-line weather in X-Plane. It's important because X-plane has a basic primary flaw: it sets infinite visibility from the "9999" visibility tag, which causes frame rate drop - because the very distant scenery is rendered - and is unrealistic. This plugin fix it. The METAR "9999" tag means visibility 10km or above. You can download the plugin here: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=19748 Create a folder "PythonScripts" inside "resources\plugins" folder and put the file "PI_VisibilityLimit.py" there. The plugin is a Python script, so you must install Python. For 64…

Well, yesterday, knowing abiut the bath weather all accross France and Germany, I decided to start a flight near De Gaulle... I am using OSM Europe + autogen, setting at "tons" and some cars on roads. No HDR, no traffic... While X-Plane 10 was loading I noticed my CPU fan increasing it's speed like never before. I switched on the ASUS monitor and saw it going to 69º, with the fan spinning madly. Eventually X-Plane 10 froze, and when I switched to windows there was a window asking if I wanted to send them the error report (probably to learn what not to do with FSX11 - yes, some believers are dreaming about it.... ). When X-Plane 10 reatarted I forced my graph…

<p>I have had XPX running for several months without issue, using the 64-bit version. Today I tried and found that I have water where land should be, and a message that a scenery file is missing (I haven't actually changed any files manually so don't know what would have caused this to happen, other than I did start XPX up today without Disk 1 in the DVD-drive. I get this scenery error with Disk 1 in the drive, BTW.</p> <p> </p> <p>One of the great things about this sim is the ability to have multiple instances of it on the same PC, so I found the installer file that I downloaded earlier (there was apparently something wrong with the inst…

I spent a few hours applying Murmur's suggestion about editing the Sky Color palettes. It's the kind of stuff I usually don't do, but I have to admit that even using basic tools like IrfanView and MS Office Picture Manager it is possible to do some basic but valuable modifications to better suite my liking, and eventually I arrived to what I consider an acceptable twilight / dawn / dusk color and light intensity (just for clear sky conditions... then I'll have to go through the rest of the palettes...). This brings up one of the most interesting characteristics of X-Plane : the power it gives it's users regarding the ability to create their own objects, sceneries…

Avid members of the VA's (United, Delta, American, etc) may be pleased to learn that the long-sought-for 64-bit version of X-Squawkbox 4.0 is about ready for a closed private Beta-test, which should mean it is getting very close to public release! Having gone from NO development after being abandoned by the original developers, it now looks as if this much-needed VATSIM interface will happen in the not-distant future, though it's anyone's guess as to 'when, exactly.' This product is of keen interest to the many X-plane pilots who are for various reasons, insistent on flying ONLY in 64-bits. Now, you can have the Vatsim experience AND enjoy the benefits of 64-bit …

Anyone around here is a user of their line of products? Do they work, the simple Cessna/Beechcraft/Piper ones, including the SimAvio base package, in X-Plane10.22 64 bit? Do the modeled aircraft come with the package ( I am aware that it's a 2d panel )? Any comments, suggestions, screens, etc... welcomed ;-)

To test your skills and also the plausible reciprocating engine model of X-Plane10, try a circuit in the default C172 from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qamdo_Bamda_Airport ( ICAO ZUBD ) Leaning is a must! If you start there and forget to immediately give some throttle and lean, your engine will soon quit. Takeoff and initial climb in a C172S is... challenging :-) BTW, PilotBalu, what's the best way to get those trees out of the rw? Edit the scenery with WED and try to create an exclusion zone for trees just around the rw? Attached image...

I took off about an hour ago, from CYTZ (Toronto City Centre) and headed East towards the Don Valley Parkway. I then swung Northbound, headed for Lake Simcoe and area. I decided to set the A/P at 4,000 feet and the heading bug at 360, with real weather from the Net. I flew over Lake Simcoe near its Eastern shoreline and kept on a course of 360 degrees. Within ten minutes, I have discovered a very beautifully rendered part of Ontario, Canada in XPX.22 Great lake and cottage country with many topographical interests. I think that I will have to land the King Air and and take up the Amphibian for some exploration of the coves and other interesting waterways. The m…
