Where can I get any infor on XPX 10.3x I heard that there will be seasons or better looking city's. or maybe that was someone's wishful thinking too. I finally started to fly in XPX this weekend. I also bought 3 planes 1. Mitsubishi MU2 1.5, the Blackshape , jetstream 32. Wow som of the coolest things I've seen in a flight sim so far are the shadows and lighting. I really like the flashlight both red and white. Also seeing the lightning from a thunder storm and night is just awesome. Now if there is a way to fix the sim city aspect!?! I just don't recognize anywhere I usually fly. Like I said in my last post I'm a hardcore FSX flyer but can really see the amazing potentia…

I've fallen in Love with Peter's A380, but it's an Airbus, and we know buses are not on PMDG's projects, at least for FSX... Also it is very basic in as far as the FMGS goes... Having to use x-plane-based flightplans is too limited :-( It would be great to have a T7, or a 744 from PMDG. An NGX would do as well, since it wouldn't overlap the ixeg733...

I flew into EHKV from ELLX tonight with real weather turned on. Used the Jetstream 32. The weather was fine to start with and got gradually darker and darker. The weather radar worked a treat saw what was coming. Then it started to snow, I had to turn the wipers on which cleared the snow nicely. After landing went back to talk to the passengers and all there windows had snow on as well Think I'll stick with X-Plane ........... Cheers

For those who do not believe that XPX correctly calculates the Sun position (Azimuth) according to date and geographical location ( me before comming back :-) ), here's some shots at sunrise times from January 2013 to what will be August 2013, allways on day 1 of each month... Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr and Aug. I have to do some further testing, but I also found that the lighting near Sunset / Sunrise times is now OK, as opposed to how I found it in previous versions, or maybe I was doing something wrong with the time(clock) settings (?)

Hi guys, My first post in here, so I thought I'd say hi and share some pictures of a little trip I had around Scotland yesterday. It's amazing how well X-Plane 10 can create Scotland; especially without the need for expensive add-ons Frame-rates were first class and what with the wonderful Cessna 185F created by that talented team, Carenado; it just made for one very relaxing and atmospheric flight. I have posted these at Flightsim.com (my usual home), so, sorry if you've seen them twice All the best, and have a great week  Post edited by Spiritflyer by request of Lightman74. Dom

I keep dancing :-) at the sound of XPX . When I discovered DCS World, and started finding more about the accuracy / detail of it's physics models, I saw a demo video of the effects of winds and turbulence on the blades of a parked KA-50 with it's rotor stopped. It was possible to see the blades waving with the wind gusts... Well, pick your preferred helicopter ( preferably a quaity one - I chose the only one I have, the EC1365 B3 ) and park it with the rotor stopped. Now set winds, with gusts, and look from an outside view at the effect it has on the blades. Add turbulence and further admire the effects! Yes, the moe I test the helicopters (and this EC in particula…

I have been a FSX user and I will continue to use it but I wanted to give X Plane 10 a try so I installed it today. I don't have any idea about addons so I want your recommendations. Only scenery I will get is TruScenery for now. What other products should I get? It has much better textures so I won't need GEX/UTX. I need a weather engine and traffic. Also is there any PMDG quality planes? Thanks

WDC Black series... All because of X-Plane10 :-) DCS World 1.2.5 will also get installed when (soon) released... I couldn't be better with both ;-) Investigating further into XPX reveals to me a very close resemblance with DCS in terms of the Flight Dynamics, specially when it comes to rotary wing. I'd say I can't really find a reason to think XPX helicopters are in any way inferior to DCS ones, but then again, I never flew a RL helo for more than a few minutes :-) Loving the heavy metal in XPX too. Yesterday night I was landing in Barcelona (XPX) with the excellent x737, and my daughter sent me a message saying that she and her husband had just landed in Ma…

I need some further understanding of the correct scenery declaration order in scenery_packs.ini The readme mentions "Regional" sceneries, but for instance I do not know if the Madeira Airport scenery should be considered as such an isolated airport or some kind of region. The same happens to the Tenerife scenery pack. Of course, some Airport sceneries like "LPPT Lisboa PLP" extend past the area of the airport and even place a lot of buildings and other structures downtown and in adjacent cities. For instance, the southern margin of Tagus river is filled with RL structures, monuments, etc.. that are very far from the airport area. Shouldn't this be considered a "Reg…

Trying to wrap my head around XPX and Openstreetmaps. XPX ships with openstreetmap data or does it download the area prior to launch? Or do you have to download it yourself from openstreetmap and convert it using osm2xp? I'm trying to make sense of what benefit is gained by using osm2xp as I usually just pick a spot and fly.

XPX :-) I know I got it twice, and I shouldn't have given up the first time when I got mad at a few aspects you know about, but the fact is that, although there may still be some details I'd like to see solved / ironed, this simulator offers me: - stability (in all forms...); - accuracy (with the best add-ons, not necessarily payware); - ease of use, from the GUI, hardware setting, graphics settings, etc... to the simple and effective model used for add-on installation, being it aircraft or scenery; - plausibility, particularly with the amazing World of sceneries, OSM, Ortho, Mesh, again most of it freeware, that together already offered me the closest to real …

Find the Rhine, and fly it North out of Frankfurt ....stay very low...and you will enter a Rift Valley region which the Rhine flows through. Very well done at Very High rez or higher, with SimHeaven OSM+AUTOGEN in play. Most pleasing eye-candy for sure! A great flight, now to take it off of 'pause', lol. Mitch Post Edit: If you own XPX, and have SimHeaven Europe OSM+AUTOGEN, then you owe it to yourself to catch the 'Rhine' and follow it up as it travels northeast, etc. Stay low...1,000 to 1,500 feet all the way. Follow the river, and observe the best that XPX has to offer you. You will see that this trip will throw everything (at EXTREME or VERY HIGH rez) XP…

Hi guys Just getting back into plane maker after a few months away from it. I'm building an old open cockpit biplane and it has a very unusual aileron configuration. The outer part of the ailerons are actually part of the wing tips. The problem with this is that plane maker will only allow up to 50% of the wing which sounds plenty. I think that it's more important to maintain the end wing configuration and have a little less aileron. Any thoughts out there? I had thought of maybe increasing aileron deflection a little to make up for the little area loss I will have. visually it won't really matter because eventually I'll be using an external 3d model. …

Downloaded some city scenery for my adopted home city of Odessa Ukraine a while ago but have only had a look at it today. Its amazing! Virtually every building is represented for the entire city center yet the frame rates remain remarkably high. You can find it here. http://www.avsimrus.com/f/x-plane-sceneries-94/odessa-city-34908.html

This just in from Dan Klaue: Carenado has just released its 8th update for X-Plane 10-64bit: the free v2.0 update to its C185 Skywagon, as well as the payware expansion pack to convert the base v2.0 C185 into a full-fledged amphibian, float, ski, tundra, and cargo-pod capable aircraft. Most of these modes, as well as wheel fairings and lower door windows, are features that can be enabled or disabled on the fly, and are remembered for next time you take the plane up. For every existing client considering purchasing the expansion pack, please purchase it from the same outlet you bought the original v1.0 C185 from, and only purchase the expansion pack after having suc…

Because I got my new Haswell based computer set up! Under the hood this beast of a computer has 4670k overclocked to 4.2GHz (will need to delid for further OC) and a GTX780! X-plane runs beastly with max settings with HDR on, very much +30 fps except for heavy weather, clouds still very tough for framerates! But i don't mind Of course i gotta show off, so here's some pics around Helsinki with Truscenery free orthophoto and OSM data version 1.2 Now, I'm off to fly! :p0502:

I've been trying ALL DAY to get the following plug in to work in either 32bit or 64bit and I am at a complete loss. The name of the plug in is and is... (I tried posting the link but it didn't work) Ground Services (and more) Net Installer - WINDOWS Only 1.10 by Joan It's a popular plug in and all I really want out of it is the Xjoymap joystick programing feature to control JR's CRJ200. I've tried both 32 bit and 64 bit installers and still no plug ins show up. (windows OS)
