Hi, I've built my new computer system now (i5 3570k, ATI 7770 graphics etc etc) and am wanting to go all x-plane as i think in the future it will be the only one any good. I have a few questions that i would love an answer to, if somebody could be so kind... In FSX you can have the interior view as though you are sitting in the seat and if you press the - key you can zoom out so you can see more of the dash. Is this possible in xp10? In FSX you can have a view where you are at the tail of the aircraft and if you turn you still keep the plane straight in view , in xplane it moves about so you have to keep centering it, if you know what i mean, Can you adjust it…

A charm to fly! Does anyone know how to do this? http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?showtopic=68276 Rotary wing are indeed something that no one can use in detriment of X-Plane! This sim does rotary wing really very well!!! P.S.: Nope, I do not own an driver license for helos... :-/ But I know at least one guy who used, since early X-Plane9, it for training, and he is an heliopter ATPL ( ATPL(H) ). Of course he owns a very sophisticated hardware set.... something that makes a big difference when trying to leran the art of flying helicopters in a PC-based simulator without a 6DOF moving platform...

I bought XPX to see what it was like, and I'm going slowly in getting it set up, tweaked, added-on etc. before I make any kind of decision about where it goes on my list of flight sims. First newbie question, though, is : How do I make my VC adjustments stick? I switch to VC, zoom back, rotate down ... but when I change views - say, looking left - and return to forward view, it takes me back to 2D panel and I have to start all over again. Is there a config default setting I can change, or what? I really do like the smoothness of the sim, and the view out the side window looks almost 3D. But that pesky cockpit view thing makes me want to say, "Oh, to heck with it." …

Tonight, I was prepping for a flight out of Toronto City Centre (CYTZ) in the Eclipse 550 turbo-fan jet. I entered my flight plan, got my clearance to taxi, and started to follow the taxi assist arrows to runway 33. I have custom scenery installed for this airport, so have static aircraft at the gates, Porter's Dash series, etc. Well, when passing the Porter Airlines turbo-prop, I decided to look at the aircraft, and to my utter amazement and delight, the pole mounted argon spot lamps in clusters of four per pole, not only shone down upon the entire scene, BUT...as I passed the fuselage, they INTERACTED with the shine and metallic finish of the aircraft. The 'glow …

Hello, This year's US Open Street Map conference will take place in San Francisco next month, and i will be presenting a session on open street map and flight simulation. The main objective of the talk will be to show how flight simulation can be improved thanks to osm data, differents approachs, pro/cons etc... I will of course talk of my own experience of osm/flight sim with osm2xp, and I'm thinking of a slideshow of end users screenshots at the end of the talk, during questions/answers. So if you're using osm2xp and have some nice screenshots of it, you can post them here/mail them to me at (osm2xp -at- gmail.com). I will be adding a short description on …

As a long time beta-tester for a well known weather generator for the MSFS and derived simulation platforms I have been waiting some more activity on this area, but I've seen just a few developers showing that they are considering a version of their weather generators / injectors for X-Plane10. One of the main problems can well be the fact that there being no direct easy way to program certain features they use on their MSFS products, they are somehow "scared" by the techniques they might have to develop in order to inject weather into XP10. Fact is, weather by default is very powerful in XPlane10, and one of the big advantages of this simulator is that they would…

Not sure if this has already been posted. http://forums.x-pilot.com/files/file/307-aerobridge-meigs-field/ KCGX is now available for v9 and v10. Aerobridge Studios-Meigs Field Developed and designed by : Peter Tram, John Spahn, Juan Menedez Manual : Peter Tram Photography: Online resources Version 2.0 Merrill C. Meigs Field Airport (IATA: CGX, ICAO: KCGX) was a single strip airport that operated from December 1948 until March 2003. It was built on Northerly Island, the man-made peninsula that was also the site of the 1933–1934 Century of Progress in Chicago. The airport achieved international notoriety when Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley ordered city crews to bulld…

My fleet is growing, I have added the A320 with IAE engines. With Peter's help I was able to confg nice wing views. The support of this little company is great. What's my point? If you like the Airbus way, give Peter's baby bus a chance, even if the panel is 2d only at this time. The fly by wire is done so well. I will post some shots tonight.

I find them pretty faint and hard to see in daylight operations. Does anybody know how (if any) you can darken the arrow-markings? I tried different gamma settings, and couldn't bring them up any deeper yellow.

Although there are missing and notable constructs, such as in the Bay Area of San Francisco...the Golden Gate, Bay Bridges, etc, within the Global Scenery itself, there are quite accurate topography renderings such as in the Niagara Falls area. While you don't have the Falls depicted, you do have the Gorge, as well north, is the Welland Canal stretching from Lake Erie, to Lake Ontario. I can just imagine someone picking up the regional scenery mantle and running with it. Bringing depth and detail to specific regions. Everything looks (to me...) flying over XPX Global, really good at around 5,500 ft ASL. It looks right. I can't wait for custom regional, and landc…

The Coolsky DC-9 for FSX was the most amazing payware I have ever bought, I added the McPhat Liveries for Exterior and VC plus I also bought the TSS Sound Pack. It was the most amazing flightsim experience and I decided to return it to Flight1 until later this year when I will rebuy it after I see XPX mature alittle past 10.30 It was keeping me away from XP10 and the forums. I'm back on xp10 and happily flying my Peter's Aircraft and some other stuff  :drinks: See you again in a few months my little DC-9 :( My investment in FSX/P3D is around $5000-7000 and $500-1000 for xp10, I did not want to leave or stop XP10 so I got a refund at Flight1.....yes the…

Hi Couple of points I have noticed when running Xplane 10.21 (32 bit mode) on my 17 inch Macbook Pro Laptop. Mac OSx 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) No longer have to insert disc 1 into CD drive, everything seems to work fine with no warning message When using 777 World Liner I get a very loud ticking noise from my Mac (sounds very alarming) when going into simulation menus, map view for example. I have installed the latest updates but this makes no difference. as a work round I just hit the pause button. I think this may have something to do with the 777 plug ins, as I don’t have this problem with other aircraft, but can’t say for sure as not a programmer. …

It's Anchorage (Ted Stevens). Probably not a surprise as they accidently released images of it on the promotional page of another recently released scenery. I will be interested to hear how it compares with Frede's great freeware rendition of the airport. The pics don't give away much and there is no real aerial shot so it is hard to get an impression of what it looks like from the air. I would like to see them start using Marginal's ground traffic plugin and bringing some life to the airport. Otherwise they look too empty. At 1.6GB, this is the biggest Aerosoft download I've seen for X-plane so let's hope it's jam packed with eye-candy! http://en.shop.…

Hi everyone, Had a two part question... Question one.... Has the FlyJSim Dash Q400 been updated for XP10 64bit yet? Question two.... I have the Carenado Caravan and installed the SASL plugin to make it work in 64bit Version 10.20. Everything was fine until I updated to version 10.21 and now it is not working correctly once again. Is there any update available for the latest Xplane version and / or has Carenado made this work yet? Thanks for your help and input. much appreciated. :-) Best, Jeff

Hi all, Many of Carenado planes in FSX needs Bernt Stolle FDE (flight dynamics) update to be enjoyable. How are they in XP 10? One of my favourite is the Bonanza F33A. Can anyone comment? Thanks in advance.

Got rid of every .NET traces, Visual Studio everything... System is using .. well, the minimal requirements for Windowzeeee and a couple of applications, the rest is X-Plane10, and already taking a LOT of my disk space ! Oops! Since an iMAC is out of question (for $$$ reasons) , when ready I'll need to get a good i7, and a 4GB graphics card - Nvidia of course!!!!
