Correction in title: Should be the Eclipse model 550 This aircraft is in the new Very Light Jet catagory -- a jet approved for single-pilot operation having four to eight seats, and a maximum take-off weight under 10,000 pounds. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Does anyone know...is there a command for this model to open up the passenger door? I've clicked, and I've clacked...but to no avail. 2. I took off from Toronto, about 70 minutes ago, been cruising at FS230 in the Eclipse 500 (THANK YOU, FIVE (HUGS!) and am soon to begin my descent into Logan in real weather (download mode) and the sim set to about 06:20 hours (beautiful sunrise) I have been finalizing enroute the best and highest FPS (total sim settings for my system) and am getting fantastic graphic display, while keeping things hopping along at 41 FPS median. I am so happy that I decided to pony up and take the XPX plunge. This has been a so satisfying sim experience to date, and am excited for the future of this franchise. Flying over and descending into the Greater Boston Area, after the mou…

Sorry for oppening a topic for this, but I though it might got lost in the middle of the other topics not directly related with this great scenery package! Well, yesterday I asked for the "curved ALS" and unwesped promptly replied showing in a great movie a night approach to LPMA rw 05 (the trickiest approach but not necessarily the more dangerous in this new airport in RL because of the wind aerodynamic effects on rw 23, caused by the "bridged rw"...) Well, I have LPMA setup on my Custom Scenery folder, two files Madeira_1_LPMA, Madeira_2_OBJ, plus ff_library_extended_LOD, and have tried with and without HDR on, but I still can't see the curved ALS lights ? I am…

As you already know, I am the kind of simmer who resists desperately to have more than one simulator at the same time. It's really difficult for me to mentally deal with using more than one of this programs at the same time, specially when they overlap like X-Plane and LM P3D. DCS World has it's success (with me...) most probably because it covers yet another area of flight simulation, while performing beautifully in as far as flight and systems modeling are concerned. But having p3d and x-plane10 at the same time on my PC is, believe it or not, a nightmare for me :-( Well, they are now, and I am trying hard not to uninstall one of them, trying to find the b…

Man, what a TURNIP, I was....NEVER thought to check out KORS, and the area. I have (I guess?!?!) restricted my flying so far to the Great Lakes and the Southeast coast of the U.S.A. and Canada. Well...I took off from KORS just a few minutes ago...and wow...does XPX put out the eye-candy at extreme resolution! I'm going to hit the Net and see if anybody had made a custom KORS after I land. The Pacific Northwest is done very well in XPX for no custom regional. Again, the ocean---man-o-man, ok Five, woman-oh-woman (smile), XPX gives the BEST offering in water color and texture to date. Does this ever ramp up the reality meter. I could only wish to have this coding in uniso…

In a short and concise word - NO! Well, here's what I found and how... Since I bought X-Plane10 a 2nd time, I decided to install a native version (10.03r2) which came with my DVDs of Global Edition, and used that one to determine the differences between the original Baron 58 and the one in 10.21, which feels a lot more stable regarding the unfamous "torque bug", but also apparently more stable in terms of trimming. Well, to go direct to my findings, if you pick the default Baron 58 from 10.03r2 and load it in 10.21, be sure to experiment exactly the same rolling tendency that we used to see in that model and other defualt prop aircraft in X-Plane10. It will ma…

Austin, I hope you will read this, as I wished to post this to AVSIM for other member readership. ------------------------------------- I am having such a blast, such entertainment and discovery with your XPX (franchise), that I decided to come here and give you a blanket statement. Microsoft abandoned their franchise and cut us to the wind. You.... to date, have not. Your franchise and product is maturing, growing, and there is live, and current support for your flight simulator. This is good work. This is providing tremendous personal entertainment, learning, discovery, and general satisfaction. I am most confident that you and the rest, backing X Pl…

  18. Well...I just paused from take-off, to come here and say that if you know Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada at all, then you will know about the Sleeping Giant. Here I am approaching it from my climb-out, and I can't believe that it is authentically represented (at Very High, or Extreme resolutions settings)! It looks exactly as in real life, enough so to suggest to you why the native tribes called it such. No matter where I climb out from, in XPX, there has been land mark (topographical surprises) non ending. Gawd....was this ever a great purchase! So, you Ontarian's...get your butt to Thunder Bay, and head out over the harbor, and pay the Sleeping Giant....zzzzzzzzzzzz…

Although a bit more limited in features (cloud variety, temperatures aloft) than P3D/FSX, X-Plane10's weather feels overall better when it comes to wind variability / shear, turbulence, and even some aspects of cloud coverage. Terrain effects on winds, and the mechanic elevation that takes place near the ridges/slopes is also a native feature of X-Plane's weather, not requiring an external weather injector. The effect of slope wids is very plausible. It would be great if winds of this type, as well as thermals could be "canted" by the wind... Icing effects are also better, although they require some tweaking given the fact that aircraft accumulate ice proportional…

€43,00 including shipping!!!!!! Will arrive in a couple of days :-) Now it's really a RETURN to business ;-) What I've been doing this weekend, apart from keep trying to master the DCS UH-1H, was trying to keep in touch with the latest news on X-Plane10's front, regarding both freeware scenery but also the best aircraft add-ons. I will use exactly the same aircraft I already have, and wait for the updates to both Carenados - B58 and PA38. Also been investing / investigating more with Plane Maker. As I wrote on another post, the great freeware T6 by JRollon is may focus of attention. I have changes a lot of things now, and keep experimenting. Main aim? …

  24. In my return to X-Plane10, I am making a lot of tests. Some have reported that things changed regarding the torque bug, and while I have to admit some of the default aircraft do behave differently, I still have to run a few tests... Also, not having any previous version installed on my system will not allow for comparisons... Strangely, I did find something puzzling regarding one of the things I was complaining before - Sun set / rise and lighting around those times of day. They looked completely out of sync with reality the last time I used XP10, and my weekend tests revealed that lighting at dusk and dawn now look pretty close to RL ? I did not read any reference to th…
