2. Hi all, Years ago I was a big user of MS FS2004 and had bought myself a nice Saitek controller as well as TrackIR rig and a bunch of add-on planes and scenery to fully enjoy the experience. I was even involved to a limited degree with a third party developer and helped create a few manuals for some helicopters. That was quite a while ago and I haven't touched a flight sim since. Now I'm thinking of getting back into it a little and was looking at X-Plane 10. I've read a bunch on it and tried out the demo which seems to run pretty nicely at 25 fps with moderate detail on my 3 year old gaming laptop. In reading about X-Plane 10 I think I understand that th…

http://store01.prostores.com/servlet/x-planestore/Detail?no=359 A great deal on this little gem. Looks simple enough, so I bought it to take it out for a spin. Bad idea. You just don't turn a switch in this baby and go. First of all, the panels are all in Russian (there is an English panel included) and lots of things seem to be simulated. So, long story short, for $12, this is a handful.

Haven't had very long to play with my newly bought XP10 but very much enjoyed the time I've spent so far. As I've been an MSFS user for so long I have a lot of questions that will probably lead to even more questions so please bear with me while I spam the forum with my ignorance... :( - Is there a list of must have enhancements to the environment (regional HD meshes, building libraries, scenery textures etc.)? - What are your top three GA aircraft (ideally one freeware, but I would like to pay for a really good one, especially graphically realistic)? - Is there a newbie's guide to OSM usage? - What are your top three scenery add-ons? XP10 seems to be p…

After seeing some of this week's XP10 videos on youtube I think I'm going to take the plunge. Does it make any difference where you buy it from? Are the Aerosoft freebies only available if you buy it from them?

I will not spend many words... rather invest in trying to find out how to buy the Global Edition back, preferably at a discount price :-/

The most puzzling reason for having returned, among others a lot more obvious like those directly pertaining to being a platform with a promising future, is an aircraft model, designed by "Javier Rollon" for xp9, and whose download link was sent to my email when I recently downloaded X-Plane10 demo again and installed.

I've been receiving some email messages, very interesting to read and informative, by Randy ([email protected]) - the Texan921( …

I bought XP-10 the other day, the regional version. Im not done or upset with FSX; in fact, I have it set up to where it's a really great flying experience, what with OpusFSX, Megascenery Earth, REX textures, etc. It's just that I need something to play around with. I bit my tongue when I first launched SP-10, it not being anywhere near FSX. THe smoothness i really nice, but it just doesn't "look right" to me. Not that that's wrong, but it's not what Im used to. So, Im hanging in there, doing some tweaking, getting some scenery and planes loaded and waiting to see how it unfolds. First thing I noticed was there's no rudder control (I dont have rudder pedals yet). Plan …

I used auto-weather generating for the flight. ---------------------------------------------------------- This is one of those 'raise that right hand, and hold it high as your head bobs, flight moments. I still can not stop myself from typing 'another' fantastic HDR-rendered sunset to night transition, in flight. Seeing interstate, county, and urban road traffic taillights headlights, and traffic entering highways systems, or exiting the same---with street lighting shining down upon the roadways....is unbelievable to view in a simulation environment. Unbelievable!~ You are there...really …

  24. I've recently been doing some tweaking to some flight models I'm working on and I let a few folks "try" these flight models before I tweaked them. I asked them to "yank and bank" the models and tell me what they thought. All of them stalled the aircraft aggressively at some point while doing "high-G" turns causing the aircraft to flip over and dive. I would casually ask, "does this feel real" and they all said no....no surprise there, I was setting them up anyhow. I routinely go on an on about the disconnect between humans and computer hardware on a desktop flight sim and how it changes what your brain thinks is happening. In this case, with no real G-forces and …
