...while reading Ben's post on10.25 going final and 10.30 being the next big patch, one line really stood up: "At this point our next “big” release planned is 10.30. We have a ton of stuff planned for it; " the word "ton" is what really got my heart pumping. It's going to be a long wait but I'm sure it will be worth it. Here is the link. http://developer.x-plane.com/

Hello, Does anyone know if a good app like fore flight that I can use for moving maps that does not require a subscription? I am only using it with x-plane so I don't really feel like spending $75.00 a year for it. I have found a couple that aren't bad but they are only the map and I like how foreflight shows you airports, groundspeed, ETA, Altitude etc.. iOS, OSX, android platforms will work for me. I don't mind paying a flat one time fee, just trying to avoid having to pay a subscription. If I was a REAL pilot I wouldn't have a problem at all paying a subscription but I just won't be getting that much use out of it to make it worth it.

Just got an email from X-Aviation to say Skymaxx will be released this weekend. Combined with the HD Mesh its going to be fun times ahead. http://forums.x-pilot.com/topic/6056-skymaxx-pro-coming-soon/?utm_source=X-Aviation+Newsletter&utm_campaign=736a933226-SkyMaxx_Pro_Announcement&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_12a9783f11-736a933226-425355373&mc_cid=736a933226&mc_eid=dee4e87122#entry64534

HI, After 15 years flying with FS 9/10 I am ready to try something else (better?), namely X-Plane10. My question is (and the purchase depends on the answer): is it possible to set up yoke, throttle quadrant, and pedals, save the setting, switch to Saitek x52 joystick and hotas set up and save again and applied one of the saved setting in function of the aircraft to be flown. I did not found any explanation neither in the manual nor in the demo version. Thanks in advance for any guide lines or indication of where I can find the answer. Andre.

I'm sure some aspects of the update can be subtile for us to discern, but I am sure, and in some aspects hope that, it'll become the best update, after the 64 bit kickoff. One of the aspects that will help turnin X-Plane 10 into an even better, more perfect and detailled flight simulator is the work being conducted mainly by Austin himself to get a very good outcome of the flight dynamics on prop aircraft. X-Plane altready models some very important characteristics of prop aircraft better than FSX ( unless when the devs use external modelling, like A2A for instance ) and also some aspects of the flight dynamics, but completing the prop model with a set of featur…

...should I choose? I'm about to upgrade my pc with new mobo/ram/cpu, but I'm in a bind here trying to decide which one to get. The AMD FX 8350 is looking good, for $199 I get 8mb L2/L3 cache, 8 cores and probably con be o/c to 4.5mhz http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113284 On the other hand, Intel has been the king of speed for a while now but at a price too, I'm looking at the Ivy's I7's but just the difference in price will almost pay for the mobo. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116501 Here's the motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131877 So, if anyone is ru…

Many things have been written about X-Plane and it's approach to flight dynamics modelling - the BET. It's IMO wrong to argue about BET vs non-BET based flight simulation engines. I am much more interested in finding out: 1) What is missing sometimes on most aircraft models designed for X-Plane 10, starting with some of it's default aircraft; 2) What can be done to bring a model as close as possible to the behaviour and even some performance figures we can compare with it's real counterpart; 3) What is missing and could / should be added in order to get X-Plane's approach to an even higher level of performance. I have wondered in the past about the true adva…

I honestly think the major players in as far as future add-on development for X-Plane 10 is concerned are set, IMO... I am glad they are exactly those who have, during the last months, provided us with some of the best add-ons for our simulator. They are more than enough to guarantee a lot of bright releases for the near / mid / far future, including the next version of X-Plane, and they'll most certainly offer quality / complexity and sophistication at the level and above what we have for other platforms. Scenery-wise the same applies, I believe. Yes ORBX will probably never embrace our platform, but we are already very well served even by freeware initiati…

Here are some first PREVIEW screenshots (mostly from the European Alps) of my upcoming new X-Plane 10 HD Scenery Mesh v2! https://picasaweb.google.com/101666907909842492197/XPlane10HDMeshV2PREVIEW (it seems Picasa has somehow blown up the saturation of the images ... don't know why) A short list of the improvements: increased mesh density improved forest representation (in Europe, reprocessed/improved raw forest landclass data) all new OSM data (streets, railways, power lines, water) linear OSM rivers included (Tag:waterway=river) some - minor - landclass tweaking (like strip mines or riverbeds etc.). Planned coverage: Europe (this time, entire Europe) USA (c…

I am able to assign the cockpit, fmc, pedestal, overhead panel, etc to the built in quick view keys on the number pad, however I am able to move anywhere beyond the cockpit region. I would like to assign some external views, such as looking out the passenger seat to see the left/right wing on the 777 and such, but when trying to move about the plane, it restricts me from leaving the cockpit area.

Apologises for being more thick than normal but can anyone with the FJS 727 tell me if it's possible to arm the spoilers prior to landing?

X-Plane 10 offer remarkable scenery, specially and dawn / dusk / night. I have searched for a few videos, and have afterwards replicated it in X-Plane10.25 and ... Whow!!!! Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=0og0649OS6k It is SO REALISTIC when flown in X-Plane 10 - I LOVE THIS SIM !!!!

I have bought a new iMac to play X-Plane. But is there a way to configure or use the keyboard to control the plane, like pitch and roll? The arrow keys don't seem to do anything so I have to actually control the plane by clicking the middle crosshair, and then a square pops up and i control it that way which isn't very accurate. I'm a casual flyer so I don't plan on investing tons of money, nor do I have the extra cash laying around to invest in hardware. So I would like to setup my keyboard somehow to manage flying these planes. Thanks.

I've been flying my new C90 for the past 10 hours doing some island hoping and I'm having a wonderful time doing it, to add to my already wonderful time flying this beauty, I stumble into a nice surprise. It all started when I took off from Cancun MX (MMUN) and headed east to Montego Bay (MKJS) a 600 mile flight, after around 2.5 hours I landed on RW 07 with nice weather (by the way, I'm using RW), taxi and parked my C90 for a well deserved rest. Then got on my F33 Bonanza and headed east again on a 25 min flight into Norman Manly Int (MKJP)., to my surprise (thinking I was going to land on an empty airport) I happen to stumble into this: Don't know who contribute…

As the subject says, the number of service stations is kinda comical. Especially at night they practically leap out at you visually. Whuts up with that? Any fix coming?

Many reasons certainly, and also now the fact that we run 64 bit, but when I read the forums at FSX and sattelite stuff, I find that one of the main reasosn I never got an OOM since I restarted using that sim last year is the fact I use **only** default scenery. Using photo scenery in FSX is am invitation to experience OOMs, the same going for other detailled scenery areas, airports, etc... We can have that detail in X-Plane 10 without anywhere near the same consequences. When I read that FSX keeps in memory the scenery areas you cross in your flights, and even some of those you don't cross, I think that while I like to be able to go to the Map view and i…

I've been looking at getting a tubeliner for X-Plane, as I miss the NGX on FSX. I recently bought the Saab 340A, which is a fantastic plane, but can only be used for VOR-VOR flights, and is great for small hops. I can't ask over at the org unfortunately since I'm blocked. Could somebody who owns the B757 let me know their experiences with it, and whether it's worth getting, specifically I'm looking at the following: 1) What's the documentation like? Does it come with decent tutorials and manuals, like the NGX does. 2) How hard is it to adjust the dials and knobs without using the mouse-wheel (In the Saab it's a nightmare). I only have a basic yoke, and do really …

Bravo to Austin, JSpahn and FF :Peace:
