This little free(donationware) script (now in Version 2) helps to transform most parts of DSF files of X-Plane 10 Global Scenery to the GML format. The GML file then can be opened with most modern GIS tools, like the open source tool QGIS, to visualize the internal data structure of the DSF. For some reason I can't enable window reflections. Everything else in the options menu works fine, ice / rain effects on the windshield are fine, just the window reflections don't work. Also I can't find any mention of the problem anywhere else so I have a horrible feeling it's just me... :unsure: Any ideas?

I wouldn't usually start a new topic looking for info on an add-on that I'm considering purchasing. But I can only find very little info/reviews on it. So, I'm reaching out to you guys! Any of you guys have it? What's your opinion? There's also very few YouTube videos of this plane, sigh -_-

Hi all, what's the best GA plane, 64bits compatible? I know Carenado make planes that I'm looking at, but who else is there with x plane? A good VC is essential as I use track IR. I'm slowly putting this jigsaw together, and it's looking beautiful! Ian

One of the things that has nagged me and I want to see if it's just on my end. My Native monitor resolution is 1920x1080, but I would like to run Xplane full screen at a lower resolution, but if I choose a lower resolution it will either be black bordered and once I choose the full screen button it defaults back to 1920x1080. Is this normal or must I change my default windows resolution lower?

I followed the instruction how to install with extra folder zzz.. and earth as subfolder within custom scenery. I downloaded the files in my download section outside x-plane. What is the next step? is that unzip in the download section and move or copy the folder to x-plane custom scenery then the folder zzz... and eart nav data ?

As a newbie X-Plane dabbler I've been spending some quality time making careful searches of available scenerys. A pretty mixed bag! Lots of payware is actually lower quality than some freeware! Still learning the ropes, I've come across a few gems, but they often reference necessary dependencies to other files that can sometimes be slightly puzzling to locate for a newb. Anyway, I wanted to post the occasional gem, if its allowed as it might help other newbs locate good stuff quickly. I really wish there was someway of getting the word out that x-plane.org is not the official forums of X-Plane. Was just reading this thread and was disgusted by the snarky comment from one of the well known mods. The two X-Plane newbies who post beneath are both suprised and upset by the comments and seem to believe that the forum is x-plane official. Just a thought, but with so many newcomers and potential newcomers, maybe we should start a comprehensive FAQ thread. It could details how to tweak the graphics, how to add scenery and aircraft. It can help direct people to stuff like Andras's HD Mesh and the SimHeaven downloads. In short a well written comprehensive guide to getting the best from X-Plane. I am willing to help, although cannot write the whole thing, do other people think this would be a good idea?

At some point I have enabled the check-box to bypass the opening screen which allows for simple flight/environmental/aircraft selections, and I can't seem to find hope to restore it. Can anyone help? Thanks, Bruce.

Some preview screenshots of an upcoming new cloud rendering engine for X-Plane - what do you think? Just kidding - in fact its not a new cloud rendering engine but rather an old one. I Still have a copy of the X-Plane 10.03 beta 3 demo on my disk that I hadn't fired up for almost two years. I did so today and took a few screenshots. Back then clouds where made of real puffs and in my humble opinion they looked way better then they do now - performance wasn't great though.

Hello all, I am presently in a flight at FL210 over the San Joaquin valley heading East towards Detroit, Michigan from the beautiful State of California. I am just clearing the Valley for the East side of the mountains that surround it. Today, I just wanted to demonstrate to those that presently are not enjoying the rich depth of this flight simulator, a few screenies of my passing through dense and in-your-face cloud formations that would normally bring any system down towards half from the high FPS range that the user would see with minimal clouds, less what you will see here. Just checked out Simheavan's US Offerings and have to say that the quality of MSE for the east coast is far superior. Is there a way to get MSE quality or MSE textures on XPX?

I've been a devoted FSX user for some time. I have it running really smoothly, and I have my routine down. Weather looks great; MSE makes it almost like real. But, you know, I've been playing around with X-Plane 10 the last few day, and I have to admit ---(looking left, then right; voice down to a whisper) I'm kinda getting to like it. Don't know if it's the fluid animation I get or how gorgeous it looks at night, but there's just something about it that makes me think to give it a chance. I've started loading up on sceneryware and stuff, and bought an ERJ-140. Nothing earth-shaking with this post. Just had to tell someone.

I would be interested in your opinion about the NEO. At the support forums people seem to be happy, with a few complaints only. I have the NEO since v1.1 and it's still not very useful for me. Thw flight model looks very off to me. After take off, with a correct configured plane there is a heavy nose up tendency. Is it correct that an A320 needs a lot of stick down to prevent loosing speed? On autoflight it does not keep altitude. Banking to the next waypoint it looses altitude and overcorrects the loss then. Speed versus climb managment is off too. Climbing thru 10.000 feet it almost stops climbing until the new speed is reached. I know it has to lower the nose, but cl…

This might be trivial, but I would appreciate some guidance here. XPlane runs on Windows and also on the iOS operating system, on a Mac PC. I wonder if the add-ons developed for X-Plane also run on the same OS...Many?....some?... none?

Well... I did something I never thought I would do. I just purchased the full global version of Xplane 10. Long story short, multiple OOMs recently... even with Prepar3d 2.0 was the last straw. I will keep my FSX installation since I invested so much money, but all future funds will go to building up Xplane 10. Hi all, Ever since I upgrade to 10.25, none of my planes fly right any more because of wind speed that is permanently set at 28 knots, manually setting the wind speed down does nothing. When I went into weather and select reading real weather and update now, the wind still stay at 28 knots. The only plugins that are weather related are the NOAA and SkyMaxx Pro 1.1. Has anyone else seen this? Short of reinstalling (which I do not want to do) what can I do to fix this? Thanks in advance. Vu
