With the various updates to X-Plane 10, there will be inevitable times when the various vendors products need to be updated and made available to us, the purchasers again. The X-Plane.org store is pretty good at keeping downloads up to date and available. How about this support if I buy from PCAviator.com. I stayed away from FlightSim.com because post sale service is pretty bad, because it charges money to re-unable download, unlike SimMArket or Aerosoft store. Normally I do not need to know this, because I made back-up of all my purchases. X-Plane products seem to require more new updates than usual, so I need to pick my vendor carefully. IMPORTANT NOTE: ================ At least two AVSIM forum members have reported "weird" things happening with X-Plane after installing EFASS. Can anyone tell me the difference between all of the different shadow options? I.e what does each one add? Should I go 'overlay' or 'medium'? What advantage/does it change? Thanks Ian

.) More cloud variation and better cloud textures. .) Great depiction of cumulus humilis clouds ("fair weather" clouds), high cirrus and low cirrus clouds. .) Default clouds moving with the wind! .) Better cloud shadows on the ground. .) Better depiction of haze and fog. .) Strobe lights reflections when inside clouds/fog. .) Much better depiction of cities at night from high altitude. .) Great FPS even with sliders maxed and high cloud cover! And yes, I know that some of these can be improved with payware add-ons, but it's a pity that these good features have been lost by default X-Plane. :smile:

Wow, what can I say. This is INSANE. I`ve been doing my FSX and P3Dv2 dance lately (install, tweak, crash, OOM, re-install, delete .cfg, etc.), it was driving me crazy. Finally I decided to give the XP10 another go, just to see if it has improved since it`s release. I was quite a bit disappointed with the 10.0 release version. At first I was shocked at the increased performance (upgraded to 780gtx recently), all settings maxed out. Then I purchased the two magnificent a/c addons: JARDesign˙s A320 v2 and LES Saab 340. Hi, So I installed the noaa plugin. Setting the weather at my local EGNT all set fine except for one thing. The wind! For some reason it sets it at 50knt, even though it's only 7knts! X plane internal weather real download sets the correct wind. However not the correct cloud coverage! Am I doing something wrong? This makes my little plane un taxi able! Ian

I came across this thread at x-plane.org: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?showtopic=72833 I never noticed it, and apparently the NEO A320 is one of the aircraft whose SASL plugins affect AI traffic, but since I have my traffic at only 1 aircraft, it didn't yet affect me... Maybe it's because the NEO forces the aircraft to be loaded in a Cold & Dark situation?

Hey guys, I have a quick question that I havent been able to find the answer to in a search. When I do a localizer only (not ILS) approach with autopilot on and LOC selected, What is the best way to maintain the correct descend rate. Currently I am using the altitude setting on the MCP along with V/S FPA and then monitoring it on the MFD until I get a couple hundred feet or so from the runway and then I turn off the autopilot and throttle down and land. I am wondering if there is a better way, for example can I keep the localizer enabled so I can stay on a more precise track to the runway and manually controll my throttle and pitch. What happened to blowing snow effect since 10.25? The rate at which it moves is dependent on airspeed.... not wind, as it used to be.

Recently, one of my small airports started showing scenery from past builds and I cannot remove them. Yes, I can remove the airport from custom scenery and the original taxiway (which was removed as this airport doesn't have one) is there, but some of the buildings I added many months ago and then removed/modified are sitting out in the middle of fields bordering the runway/taxiway. They have got to be there somewhere, but I can't find their source. Any thoughts? John

Before I decide to get X-Plane, I'm trying to decipher all this "stuff" available for X-Plane. It is CONFUSING. OSM, OSM + Autogen, Mesh for Photoscenery, Mesh V2 OSM Scenery, European Library, and more even. And on top of that, there is just too much info out there. If I search on Google or the various forums I am literally inundated with too much information it become overload. I wanted to give a shout out to Cameron @ X-Aviation. The service that I have received has been far above and beyond the call of duty. Cameron has answered all my questions (even the stupid ones :blink: ) professionally and promptly, sometimes quicker then I could re- click on the inbox to check for new mail. I'm falling in love with helicopters in X-plane, specifically the Dreamfoil AS350B3, which I think is a superb add-on. I went to see if Fred is working on anything new and this little gem popped up. Over at http://www.simheaven.de they describe the HD Mesh V2 for Photosceneries ZL17/ZL16. Is this the exact same thing as the HD Mesh V2 that was recently released? If so, why is it described as mesh for photoscenery?
