Has anyone seen this on their QPAC A320? I just saw it tonight flying into KRIC.....It's really much more noticeable at different angles and at night it's really bright. I tried different liveries too and it is still there.

A bit late with this post, but xsimreviews have attacked out at X-Plane and Ben Supnik's recent inerview, which seems to have annoyed people in the comments. http://xsimreviews.com/2014/01/15/xp10reviews-14-01-14/ For me, it's always seemed that LR have their own agenda, and that they don't seem to take user's concern's seriously or forget what they've promised users. I still remember being promised just after the release of XP10, that they'd fix the AI, and make the ATC support VFR flights like FSX does. People remember things like this, and I think this is what has annoyed the author of the article. Also IMO, it would seem that LR simply don't seem interested in…

So glad to follow lot of positive reports on this and other forum regarding which payware addon to buy first for a new XP follower. Just did a trip around my town on evening with overcast and rain...gripping to say the least. I could not stop with Wow and OhhhhhhhMG I then moved to Etna mountain to test the new great scenery by FlyDav at Reggio Calabria. Double WOW and triple OhhhhhMG Of course lot depends on SMP weather, Urban Extreme and my fresh falling in love with X-Plane but this aircraft is perfect, lights, effects with rain, sounds. Not the slight complain so far. Highways lights in the thick clouds were breathtaking. I wish I had a triple monitor and ped…

I'm trying to convert some of my Polish airports from FSX to X-Plane using fs2xplane, and although fs2xplane runs and appears to start converting, it always pops up with the following error message: (a,b,c,d,x)=unpack('<IIIIB',bgl.read(17)) error: unpack requires a string argument of length 17 I'm not sure what's going on here, and I've googled about, the only post I could find was this a post on X-Plane.org, indicating there is an old version of some library installed, it's using google cache as I'm banned from the site https://www.google.pl/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&ved=0CC4QFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fforums…

As I mentioned in a earlier post, after being one of those Microsoft FS for life guys vowing to never buy x plane.... I bought x plane the other day. I've been seeing too many stunning pictures and learned of a very promising 737 due out, that I couldn't sit back and not give it a try at least. Well after anxiously tracking the package, it looks like it will be here tomorrow, but I digress. Since ordering I have been spending hours reading and looking up x plane stuff, like sceneries and features. One of the things I read over and over again is OSM. I understand it is openstreetmaps and it is basically Wikipedia in map form. It uses people to map streets, rivers, coas…

I missed this scenery's release, (Stewart airport) but I Just got around to buying it an hour ago. I haven't spent a lot of time with it yet, but its sure some sweet looking scenery from beti-X. Its payware, but worth it every penny IMO. Combine this with Skymaxx and your favorite plane and and it amazing. Just took a few quick shots. Lots more exploring to do. Rob

My typical X-Plane 10 session... I do not have a lot of time to spend simulating flight. My typical flight simulation sessions last less than 1 hr, sometimes only 5 minutes. When I buy a simulator just for the sake of enjoying it's flight dynamics, like I did for instance with DCS World, then the sessions can last even less time - the time for a short circuit or a few maneuvers and a landing where I am specially concentrated in enjoying the flight / systems modelling. With X-Plane 10, the temptation to fly the airliners has equalled the one I had when using Microsoft Flight Simulator. I have presently in my fleet the FF 777-200ER, Peter's A321, SSG's 748-i and the …

  14. I hate him. I was happy, I was satisfied with my flights. It was enough for my evenings after recovering from my three pesters. Good, sometimes awesome airports to fly to and departure from with lot of traffic around me, decent AI, great and quite realistic weather, dynamic camera to support TrackIR, Orbx texture to fly over with coherent landclasses, crew announcements, FMC to program in complex cockpit like PMDG737. What could I ask more? Yes, of course, not everything was shining gold, some pale bronze here and there at times, like crashing on short final after 3 hours, stutters and freezing at detailed airports forcing the 737 to stay in hangar on that fli…

Hello all, after installing X-Plane 10 and using it exclusively for a whole week, I just have this to say: HOLY CRAP! Even though it took a whole 28 hours for the install to finish, even though learning to install custom scenery is a whole new ball game, even though it takes a while to get the views just so, it simply is amazing. But, it will not replace Prepar3D. It just adds to another type of simulator experience and now I get to enjoy both. I have lots to learn in X-Plane but, damn, it's loads of fun!

Let me start by saying that I use and enjoy FSX, P3D and X-plane and that I didn't start this thread to have a debate over which sim is superior to the other. The reason I did start this thread is that I am very curious as to a comparison (graphics/flightmodel/performance/immersion) between an FSX Carenado aircraft and an XP10 Carenado aircraft of the same type. The only reason I chose Carenado is that as far as I know they are the only developer who has a few of the same aircraft products for each sim. Personally I'll have to wait for Carenado to release the B200 or the B1900D for Xplane before I could make the comparison for myself. Very curious

  18. Dear Pilots, Its been several years since I was flying online. back in 2007 I used FSX and it was pretty darn hard to fially get online, but worth all the trouble. Ive clock up lots of hours in cessnas despite not having a licence. Almost went down between Toowoomba and Lismore one day. Well I just purchased X-plane 9, just liked what i had read about it. I have forgotten everything i knew about getting FSX online, Im hoping to get some help here how to get X-plane 9 online with avsim /.vatpac. Am i in the right forum or can you suggest elsewhwere if i am in the wrong place? Thank you for reading, Mike. /

Hi all, did we have a xplane screenshot section in the past? I can't see one now.. One thing that bugs me about xplane although I dont believe it's an xplane problem is how it looks on my 42" screen. It's not that great but I think the nvidia quality in most sims is better than my ATI. I know the screen can look great as some sims look really excellent, no AA issues etc but xplane is not great. I have found FSX is similar and I understand it likes nvidia better as well. To help me decide if it's worth the money I was looking for some good 1920x1080 screenshots taken with good nvidia cards that I can put on my screen and hope to see some differe…

  20. A day or two ago I dug out my laptop which had been languishing unused since I came home from sea last October. I did a reformat and reinstall of Windows 8.1 and thought I'd give XP10 a try. The laptop is an MSI GT680R with an i7-2630QM @2Ghz, 8GB RAM and a GTX460M graphics card pushing a 1920x1080 display. I'm running XP10.25 with the HD Mesh V2, OSM Europe, SkyMaxx1.2 and most graphics options turned up to one notch from max along with FXAA. Not only does XP10 look really really nice, but it's also running surprisingly well. Flying over an OSM heavy city in a Carenado with decent cloud cover I'm getting about 17-18fps, but at higher altitudes and away from heavy sce…

Great article in the new Feb. "Flying" magazine, if you get a chance to read it. The author, who likes to do a lot of experimentation, as well as previously building several aircraft of his own design, has revisited the effects of P-factor, Slipstream, and torque.....by checking out the varied presense of these effects while inverted, versus upright. He also makes comparisons of a Extra 300 with engine offset, and the Pitt's with no offset. Article is called "Invert to Untangle".

Well, sometimes we find an add-on that "makes your sim" worth everything :-) I have found 1, actually 2 - The QPAC A320 and Peter's A321. I can't really express the sensation of having finally met two airliners so well modelled in each and every respect. Yes they both miss the fancy 3d cockpit views, but will be upgraded. Yes they do not fully implement the various flight laws of an Airbus, their FMGS / FMGC are far from being complete, but what they model they do it with a quality that I really can't find in any other airliner add-on, although the SSG 747-8i is getting near and I also look forward for it! There is also Peter's A380, another Masterpiece when…
