Does anyone know if this works in X-Plane 10? How big a hit does it give on frame rates? TIA (Sorry if this is the wrong forum.)

The freeware / donationware scenery X-Plane 10 Tree Lines and Farms V2 has been released! The "X-Plane 10 tree lines and farms V2" scenery is the second version of an overlay add-on for X-Plane 10. It tries to add "visual clutter" (tree lines and farms) to the usually relatively dull landscape of agricultural areas and grassy areas. Like in real life, with this add on, tree lines will follow - randomly - many of the roads, railroads, and the coastline of lakes or riverbanks. Every now or then, you will also find farms standing around. All in all, this gives a much more "lively" feel to the default scenery and it is best used together with HD Mesh Scenery V2! …

I've been unable to use X-Plane X (Global) because the A/C are uncontrollable; they go left / right, nose-up / nose-down in rapid succession regardless of joystick input.. I've had this problem on 3 computers with 2 operating systems: Windows 7 & (ugh) 8. My latest is Windows 7. My 'puter & joystick run MS FS 2004 just fine. I fail to understand what could be the problem except that it is within the X-Plane 10 program itself. (Thanks to tech support, my first set of disks were found to be faulty and replaced.) It seems impossible the three 'puters and 2 Op Systems could cause the identical problems. Ready to give up.

In X-PLANE 10, while flying a Cessna 172SP from EHAM (Amsterdam) to EHLE (Lelystad) I was instructed by ATC to contact EHLE tower at 123.68 MHz. I have the 3D cockpit and use the arrow keys to line up the view with the com1 radio (a bit to the right and up). Then I start dialing in the frequency in com1 with the mouse. The coarse dial seems to work as expected, with 1 MHz increments/decrements. However I am unable to set the decimal part of the frequency, because the increment/decrement values are bigger than 10KHz, which prevents me from setting the frequency at exactly 123.68. Instead when I reach 123.67 and press fine-tune UP once, it skips to 123.70. Pressing down onc…

I just installed the demo version of X-Plane and like it well enough that I ordered the DVD's. At the rendering settings I'm using I get a drop from 45 to 30 fps when I enable TrackIR 5, which otherwise works fine. I've never had more than a fps or two impact from TrackIR in other games. I'm just running an I5-3570k 3.4 at 4.2 and a Gigabyte 7950 3gb at 1000/1250, 8 gigs of system ram, win7 64... Why would my frame rate crash so bad when TrackIR comes on? Too few cores? I'm lost as I wouldn't run X-Plane without TrackIr, but I sure hate that 33% hit, and 45 fps is noticeably nicer than 30... TIA, Steve

Hi all, I've searched manuals etc but can't figure this one out. When I use the little hat type switch on my saitek x52 throttle to control my rudder (I do not like the twist on the joystick, so I disable that) it also changes the ranges on the ARC in the weather Radar and also the main display! Is there any way to stop it from doing that? Thanks Ian!

This is really unusual for a developer. They usually don't like to give release dates. X-Airports have given an exact date and time for the release of their new EGGD - Bristol Airport. "Bristol International is set to be released on the 8th of March UTC 1:00pm Development screenshots will be released sometime between now and then!" Joe Lead Developer and Ownerhttp://www.x-airports.net/ Just from the picture on the website, the airport looks like it will be a nice one. Bob

Hi Flight Sim Friends, So I'm currently working on my Private Pilot License, training with a Cessna 152. To repeat and "keep my brain active" I use X-Plane with the Saitek Cessna Yoke. Everything works pretty ok.. I mean it's of course not that 100% reality feeling, but it's ok. The only thing, that drives me crazy is the constant roll. I don't mean any torque or p effects. What I mean is the constant roll into one direction as soon as I move the yoke to the left or right. Even if I center the yoke, the aircraft keeps rolling into the initial direction. To counteract this, I need to move yoke slightly to the otherside, just to center the a…

I, like many on these fora, tend to drift between sims depending upon one's particular mood or need. So... I was looking forward to see what Prepar3d 2.1 would bring to the table; basically an FSX compatible sim with DX11 effects. However it seems that the brick wall that we know as the 32-bit VAS is spoiling all the fun. Turning up the visual candy in FSX was already a good recipe for OOM cake, but now the candy's been bumped up a notch or two in P3D v2.1 it's clear to see that that brick wall is becoming a major handicap for that platform. Any visual improvements introduced in P3D have to be turned down or throttled back, so in the end there is little real improvement u…

Hello, the weeds look pretty good, but my weeds look like they were planted by a farmer as they appear to be in rows. Any idea what I may not be doing to get them to look like they are scattered?

Hi all, I'm now in the market for a new TV / Monitor for x-plane. I will run it off a single GTX 770 4GB. What should I look for? I want about 27-32" In size. Is a monitor or TV better? Thanks Ian!

Just a quick ask-around to see if anyone has had any luck using PhotosceneryX? I have the trial version, but it seems to have some necessary features disabled; however, Id really like to know if it works before plunking down any more cash on a flight sim addon. I've started to grow kinda fond of Xplane 10, what with the ease of creating scenery objects (in Sketchup) and getting them into Xplane. Although it's pretty easy with P3d, so that's not a slam. THE thing I do miss is the use of photoreal scenery. So, thought I'd give PHotosceneryX a whirl. Have downloaded images using Googles image downloader, but keep getting error messages popping up that I think are due to …

Hi Pilots. I have a problem and don't know if it is related to XPX or the MS 893. Firstly its a joy to fly this aircraft. But my issue is above a 100-120 kts , once trimmed (though I can never trim in a FS very difficult for me) and if I leave the controls she will start banking left and even using ailerons or rudder trim does not make her right. Is this the way she is supposed to fly ? is it due to the prop wash ? The other thing is the rudder is very sensitive. All help appreciated.

I fly with an online group and we use our own dedicated server for the flights. (We also fly on VATSIM too) Almost all members use either FS9 / FSX and when it's their turn to control they get on pretty well using one of the existing packages on the PC, such as FSNav or FS Commander. Question is, is there an equivalent 'moving map' type system for Mac OS? I'm using X Squawk Box to connect to our server which works fine, and in the visual world of X-Plane can see all the other pilots without difficulty. The problems arise when it is my turn to control, as I can't find a reliable way of gaining the picture and perspective to control effectively.
