Hi Last week I bought a Zodak Gforce 780 TI AMP edition, 3GB mem , (780 ti oveclocked). I had a 580 gtx previously. I knew this should bring a good fps improvement for x-plane, at least in sceneries that CPU is not bottleneck-guilty. I measure this by reading the in-screen "CPU" usage reported by x-plane. Ben said in his devlog that we could think as CPU being a constraint with readings above 0.95 or so. Yesterday I started the sim at LEMD (Madrid-Barajas) Default aerosoft airport, Simheaven City photoscenery, OSM Europe, starting at gate or a runway several times, I was getting 14-17 fps. OK, main rendering options used: - World distance: high - Number of Objects:…

Hello all, lapsed member here. I have enjoyed MSFS (FS9 and FSX) for along time and have recently acquired a Mac. There are lots of interesting vids on youtube suggesting an impressive OTB experience with XP10, but am deeply aware of how long you can spend tuning your system. My first Mac is 27inch , 3.2GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz 8GB (two 4GB) memory 1TB hard drive1 NVIDIA GeForce GT 755M with 1GB video memory seperate DVD drive Before I pull the trigger on XP10, are the above specs enough to support decent FPS and no blurries? Any responses appreciated.

Has anyone seen this before. I have removed all plugins, custom scenery, deleted prefs, etc. It just started yesterday and I can't figure out what is doing it and the crash log doesn't give any clue. Anyone seen this issue before?

Common knowledge regarding video ram usually says a 2 GB card is totally sufficient for single monitor users. But XP seems different. People on here talk about 3 GB being all used up. Are you guys on single monitors? I'm not understanding how XP can really use tons of VRAM.... Can someone help me out with a link or explanation?

I have the ASUS Radeon HD 7770 1GB graphics card, xplane 10 settings are very very low. I am having less FPS than FSX everything on max.. Please help! These are my XP10 settings: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/67066524/Naamloos.jpg i am getting no more than 25 FPS at KSEA in the default BE58

Hello, I've had X Plane 10 for around 8 months but because I did not have a payware aircraft to fly within it, I neglected it until now. I wasn't paying attention. This X Plane is a marvellous product. My default scenery has never looked better and the level of graphical control is first class. My next payware purchases are going to be concentrated in this Sim (for all you developers chained to the stone age). I have a question: Does Hyperthreading On achieve any advantage within X-Plane 10? Jon

Hi, with the release of Prepar3d 2.2, I just tested it, and although the cloud shadows are good, I just can not put x-plane 10 down. It just seems so more realistic to me. Prepar3d still feels a bit like FSX. Anyways I digress. My question is, any chance in the foreseeable future that skymaxx pro will have cloud shadows on land? I know the default x-plane clouds do, with the right tweaks, but I feel that they are too hard on the FPS compared to Sky Maxx's. Thanks Ian

I guess this is a subject never brought to this forum. I actually believe this was unheard before on any flight simulation forum, so, I decided to start this topic on Torque... Do you know it can affect an aircraft with any sort of, prop / fan? Well, it can, and the guilty is always that poor english guy who got an apple on is head when it felt from a tree... Anyway, this is an interesting thread at PPrune, and it talks about torque on jet/turbofan engines, and why it is negligible compared to torque on prop / turboprop engines / aircraft. Thought you might find it interesting to read, specially some of the posts from people who really know what they are tal…

http://store01.prostores.com/servlet/x-planestore/Detail?no=547 Around 2006 I met an helicopter pilot / instructor who had a full helicopter setup at home, and used X-plane ( 9 by that time, if I'm not wrong... ) to train procedures. He had an R44 model available for that sim. The photos look nice in this R66 !

Hello people! I've bin wondering all the time, shall I go to X-Plane or stay with FSX, but X-Plane is pulling every week harder to come in and make it your default sim. Many people say(think) that X-Plane dynamics are bad, but so far I know are the X-Plane dynamics a way-way better than FSX, X-Plane feels bigger and that is what I love, in real life you feel small if you see a Fokker 70 in front of your nose, but if you go to FSX you don't think about it you can't feel how huge it actually is but in X-Plane you do feel that for some reason. Yesterday I've cancelled a flight in FSX because I want so bad fly in XP10 but than I miss something again but I don't kn…

It's been a long time since I last used MS FLIGHT and I really don't recall if that was possible in this sim, but one thinkg I easily recall is how nice it was to be able to use the mouse for input in it. Yes MS FSX has that option too, and even X-plane, but there was something special about the way they programmed it in MS FLIGHT, at least to my feel. I remember using the mouse also with X-Plane 10, and the fact that it helped a lot fighting some unwanted effects, but I do not recall if it is possible to use the mouse in X-Plane for the pitch and roll channels, and a rudder control system for the yaw / toe brakes? I also recall using the mouse for control …

Hi guys, Now I'll admit to not flying X-Plane as much as I like, but I enjoy it when I get a chance. Now while I'm aware of some of the great pay ware products out there, from the fantastic 777 and 727 and of course the beautiful Oahu scenery. But the other night I got to thinking about freeware and I wondered, what's the best. So what's your recommendations, what's good and where do I get it? Best wishes, Jess B

I have just ordered x-plane and download the trial version. A friend gave me his old Saitek x-52 ( not pro) joystick and hand control. I went into settings and tried to sync some settings to the joystick. I could get the power or throttle speed on the hand controller but my joystick wouldn't not really control the left or right or take off. when I tried to take off I let go off the brake and started to increase speed and my plae went craxy right then started doing circle then when I let go it went straight only with no power basically. is there any template to help set up this x-52 doing lots of ready and it seem really complicated but it will be fun when I get it working…

This image demonstrates the "glossy" shiny effect I get when the sun is shining down on a considerable angle upon the ground, usually at dawn or dusk. You can see it makes the textures look unnatural and weird... This is a screenshot of normal scenery, taken in the middle of the day. See how there is no glossy-ness and it looks a lot more natural. So, my question is, how can I edit the sun texture/ground textures/data refs to make this stupid effect go away? Cheers.

Hey all, Wondering if anyone can help. Since installing syntax pro all of the buildings tend to go transparent when they're further than a few hundred metres away. Visibility is set to max in clear weather. Does anyone have any idea why this is? Thanks, Luke Skymaxx sorry not syntax!

I have x-plane 10 installed on 2 computers of similar spec. i5 2500k, nvidia gtx 6600ti graphic card, 8gb ram on Windows 7 64bit. Both run fine but on one computer x-plane is very slow to respond to the left mouse button. The cursor is recognised as it will changed to a curve arrow when placed over a radio knob for example, but is hit or miss as to whether it will change the setting. I has sent a log to x-plane support but they say there is no apparent fault within the program, I have also downloaded the program several times with no change. This would suggest the fault may be within Windows but it seems odd only one computer is affected. Any suggestions as to the cause w…

Hey all, Just curious about the above. I have flown the 777 a fair bit now, and spent some hours this evening on the 727. Everything about the 727 shouts quality; the extremely accurate cockpit sounds (I've not been in a cockpit of a 727 but I have of other jetliners in flight, and you can't hear the flaps or gear from there - this is accurate in the 727 and not the 777). The cockpit detailing is gorgeous, and it's just incredible to fly. It also cost half the price of the 777. So impressed. Does anybody prefer the 777?

When you have a Pilot and Co-pilot, how do you get X-plane to allow two yokes and two sets of pedals to be used? When assigning the axes under the "Joystick and Equipment" section, it doesn't seem possible to assign two yokes to the "Roll". Assigning one deselects the other assignation. Same story for rudder pedals and toe brakes. This is simple to do in FSX where the last movement on either control takes the focus. Can anyone suggest how I can do this in X-Plane 10.25? The obvious answer is to use a second PC configured as a co-pilot's Station. The trouble with this is then the cockpit would then not work easily in FSX.
