Tired about FSX crashes, micro-stutters, low FPS etc. So im thinking about giving xplane a try with their demo. I got a very good system 4770k paired with gtx 780 and 16gb of fast ram so I guess I could crank all sliders to the max. Is this Demo going to give me a clear idea regarding graphics, smoothness and flight dynamics of what xplane is going to be if I buy it? What are its pros and cons versus FSX? Fella's, So my search has so far only found that the only way <?> to make use of multi-monitor set up for X-Plane is to use multiple PC's. Well not an option for me. I just build a i7-4770K rig and have 3x 27" monitors connected to my nVidia GTX760 card. Now with FSX and P3D, works fine and projection of the cockpits is to correct size,etc. But with X-Plane, I either have the image across all three monitors but so darn big its impractical to fly and view all instruments and out the windows or by lowering the resolution to my screen resolution it'll only be viewed on the middle (main screen) and then I have no surround views of the full cockpit panels and w…

I am planning on buying X Plane very soon. I am brand new to flight sim but excited to get started. Can anyone provide insight on the quality of my hardware and if X Plane will run well (meaning smooth, with decent graphics) for the following hardware I currently have: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit Processor is Intel Core i7-4800 MQ 2.7GHz RAM is 32 GB Graphics Card is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770M with 3 GB Ram Screen has a 120 refresh rate (not sure if that matters) HD is 800 GB with 100 GB from solid state drive I think it will be good, but I just want to be sure if I need to consider anything else. Hello all, Just a quick question. The 777 is a nice aircraft but I do feel it is a bit light compared to the ngx and dcs aircraft I've flown in the past. Is the 757 a significant upgrade in terms of systems and cockpit modelling? I've read two reviews but there isn't much in the way of a direct comparison. If not, is there anything out there significantly ahead of the 777 in terms of modelling, or is the 777 pretty much the pinnacle and I should wait for the ixeg 737? Thanks for your advice

Help would be appreciated in finding out why, in X-Plane 9.7, I get a runaway trim using my FF2 Joystick? I Don't get the trim runaway when using my Saitek Cyborg Joystick. I didn't get the problem when using the Sidewinder with FSX on a Windows machine. I'm currently using a mid 2010 iMac i5 (Quad core, 2.8 Ghz, 12Gb RAM) Any help would be appreciated Alpha 342

I recently downloaded the 10.25 upgrade for my 10.05 X-Plane Regional North America, and now the program crashes constantly and is useless. I would like to start all over again, uninstall X-Plane and reinstall my original copy. (That ran just fine.) I have tried moving to the trash every X-Plane file I can find, but it still tells me, "You already have X-Plane installed on this computer" when I try to re-install it. And yes, I've tried using the new installer from the X-Plane website in place of the one on the 10.05 disk #1. I'm using an iMac running OS X 10.7.5

Looks interesting and could be great fun, but for those who were hoping for fixes to things such as altutude visibility, ATC etc it must come as a disappointment. Let's hope once this is out LR get back on track with the core stuff.

Im a recent convert to X Plane, something that's just great about it... maybe it's the ease of creating scenery, the through-the-roof frame rates (even on my old Dell XPS 420), and, really, theres some kind of depth-of-field thing going on that I can't put my finger on. Anyway, I discovered another great reason .... XHSI. My head is spinning with all the possibilities. If you fly X Plane and are interested in cockpit building, do a search and check it out.

Does anybody know if the dome lighting can be assigned to a key? I've seriously spent the last couple of hours scouring the key / joystick assignments to assign the Dome light, but to no avail. I have DataRefEditor but unless you know what you're actually looking for, this is like a needle in a hay stack .. I ultimately want to bind it to my Saitek Switch panel but can't even find the command in the first place. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

It is my first time in this forum and in general pretty ignorant about how a forum works. However, since I am a fan of flying and bought lately X plane I would like to discuss my most recent issue with all of you Everytime I enter X plane a message appears telling me that X plane crashed on last flight. It always offer me two options for rendering options and it does not save previous configuration. My computer has 6 months old, has Windows 8-64 with NvDia GTX 645 graphic card updated. I do not know how to solve this issue Help would be appreciated.

Okay so I just bought the ssj100 and I have had many problems with it. At first it caused x plane to crash when I tried to open it but now it does not let me turn on the ground. I put the switch thong on ground but my joystick that I have does not turn the wheel so I had to set one of the throttle controls to turn the wheel but even when I did that the wheel locked up randomly and I would have to brake to be able to turn again. Do I need rudder pedals? I hope you can help

Hey all, I have spent the afternoon tuning the sim so that in the worst case scenario (Flying over central London/Heathrow area) with poor weather and lots of clouds in a complex airliner my FPS dips down to 26 (but averages 30 in this scenario). Is this a good minimum to aim for? I'm basically trying to avoid the point I've heard of where the engine breaks down and the flight model stops functioning. I get about 35-45fps usually, but as I say, it can drop to 26 in highly complex large cities. Any advice about targets etc for the optimal balance of graphics / performance?

I'm a big fan of Tom Curtis' sceneries in Canada and Alaska and fly there a lot. In the last weeks, Tom was working on an update for his package Final Frontier, esp. on Ketchikan. Here's a video he posted at the .org: Notice the elevation difference between runway and taxiway. If you're used to Tom's sceneries, you will also note the improved modelling and texturing.

Just thought I'd post to let you guys know about my experience today. A good friend of mine is a first officer for Ryanair who's been flying with them for about 18 months, building hours before a move to another airline. He flies the 737ng out of Dublin airport and today he had a chance to have a go on X-Plane at my place. Hey all, I have a basic XP10 install with the default Aerosoft airports, plus the HD Mesh v2, however when I took off from Gatwick EGKK this morning Boris Johnson had obviously decided to go absolutely nuts and built roads across the runways. Hello all - I must be doing something wrong so hopefully someone here can help. I did research and it seems to turn on AI traffic I go to Aircraft, situations and then other aircraft, select the number of AI planes and then the type. The problem is... when I go to select the number I do not have any drop down selections for specifying the aircraft... and so I have zero AI planes that "follow me" nor do I ever see any on the ground or in the air. What am I doing wrong here?

I have had no problems with x plane up until i downloaded the ssj100. Ever since then it would crash immediately one i tried to load it. I was able to open it at one point and it worked fine but now it is not even loading. Here is my log.txt. i normally use 32 bit but i used 64 bit this one time to see if it would change anything but it didn't. Hope you guys can help.
