Just a tip on a cool thing (at least I think so) I set up this weekend. I stumbled on the HIDMacros http://www.hidmacros.eu/ keyboard mapping software, and that, coupled with a cheap USB keypad I got on Amazon, allowed me to add this little button setup for flying the Carenado Skymaster in XPlane. https://www.dropbox.com/s/qgjbzfhzby2urj4/2000-12-31%2023.00.00-2.jpg (The blacked-out other buttons only show up this badly with the camera flash). The other keys are programmed with "cheat sheet" things I may have to do quickly while in flight. Otherwise, works great. Anyone else have issue's with the com radio's in the 10.30b1. When I try to tune to any atis freq. all is silent. Using the same plane, location in 10.25 it's fine. thanks Scot

I've been seeing blurbs all over the interwebs that 10.3 is out, but my install doesn't see it and I don't get a notification that anything newer than 10.25 is available.

What is with this? It's bad in XP - in FSX it's actually better. I'm less than 80 miles from BSR in norcal at 15,000 but I can't pick it up! GRRRRR! Finally picked it up about 45 miles.... lame... edit: Ahhh I see they probably modeled the theoretical service volume for a LOW VOR.... 40 mi. In real life though you'll pick these up a lot farther out in my experience. What do you guys think?

Hello, Like a lot of us, I'm keen to try V10.30 hoowever, I have a strange problem that I would be really thankful for some help with. I start XPlane and it detects that updates are available, it then downloads and install the updates as expected. What it does next is re start and then tells me I have updates available etc,etc. When I skip to the nex bit, XPlane loads fine but it's only running v10.22. I hooked up the quad to the yoke then plugged the yoke into the Mac (27 inch). The game recognizes the yoke in joystick axis but won't recognize the quad . I have unplugged turned of computer no matter what it won't recognize the quad. If I can get it going can someone post a screen shot of how the have hooked up everything . Should be getting my rudders next week

Hi, Being new in the XP sim,I would like to ask for advise: My XP and FSX are installed on a SSD (250 GB), I have lot of scenery installed in " Custom Scenery" among others, the simheaven "Photo Sceneries ZL17".I found it very usefull for VFR flights, especially when I can overfly my own house ! (OK, suppose to be!). Now, after installing only 3 areas, my "zz_hd_global_scenery2" contain already 23 GB files and will growing!.I have a empty internal hd, I trayed to transfer the "zz_. . . " file on my internal hd, but failed to create a link between "Custom Sceneries" and the new place! How to proceed?? Thanks in advance for any kind of help. Andre

Hello all, I have flown a lot of the NGX 737 previously, and now the FF777 and 757, however I would like to begin flying on IVAO (I'm based in Europe) which requires me to know more than merely programming the FMC and messing about with SIDS and STARS until they work (but not properly understanding them, for example I have no idea what a transition is!). I know very little about real world navigation so have opted to download this aircraft (http://www.x-plane.com/2012/03/piper-pa28-181-archer-iii/) to really focus on learning VFR navigation and basic comms. Hello all, I fancied downloading some ZL17 photosceneries of the UK, so off to simHeaven I went. However, every scenery I click on in the 'GBR' section seems to return an error that the service is unavailable, at the point of clicking on 'I do agree' Anyone else having problems, or is it local to my connection, I wonder? Hi guys, Having read some good feedback about X-Plane, i am ready to try this... (from P3D)... just some general questions needing to have answered to see if this switch is going to be what i expected... Firstly, what are the very basic downloads (apart form the actual sim) i should be investing in? I fly the Airbus Extended mostly... i have seen the JARDesign A320 on YouTube and it looks very nice... i understand the actual flight fidelity of X-Plane is unmatched so my question here is does the Airbus fly realistically? I'm an absolute newbie in scenery development. I use WED to add taxi ways and aprons and OverlayEditor to put my objects in the airport. It works fine, I save the file, export to custom scenery and test it in X-plane. Everything works, except… when I quit all my programs, and restart my Mac, the objects disappear from the scenery in OverlayEditor and nothing shows in X-plane. My taxi ways and apron are still there but all the objects I had added in OE have gone. Why? did I miss something?

I tried to modify the position of an airport with WED, because the default airport is no aligned with the photoscenery. I created a geoTIF with this tool: http://www.allmapsoft.com/gsmd/ But when i load it into WED its not at the right place. What am I doing wrong? Any other source for geoTIF in Europe?

Yep, this one is nearing completion. If you like FlyJsim's work this one will be a must have. As an incentive, they're discounting (heavy) the 727 suite. :wink:

I had a saitak x-52 controller and had lots of problems with getting the controls to operate correctly etc. Just purchased a Saitek usb pro yoke system. Do I really need the rudders to start as they are over $200 and if so is there a type that work better than the others,or is it worth it to get it upfront and start with the basics. Also is there any other equipment people would recommend and an easy airport. Also I can't find a video or forum topic with the basics for setting up controllers , easiest plane and airport etc. thanks in advance

HI, I purchased the Ramzees Boeing 777-200 and it came with the KLAX and KLGA airport scenery. I have downloaded the files and dragged and dropped into the Custom Scenery folder, yet no go! Any handy tips or points in the right direction would go down nicely! Cheers, Jamie
