Hardware Controllers: Joysticks/Yokes | Throttle Quads | Rudder Pedals | Drivers etc

This is a forum to discuss issues with Joysticks, pedals, yokes, other interface hardware like panels, etc.

  1. I hope someone can help me troubleshoot this as it is driving me crazy! I can't fly FS at all at the moment because of it, unless I use the keyboard to input everything (not really an option!). I load up FS9 and start preparations to taxi and usually within ten minutes, both my Saitek X52 and my Nostromo N52 stop working. I thought it was a USB issue, but my keyboard and mouse are fine. Also, when I go into the Saitek Control Panel (where you test all the buttons and functions) everything responds as normal, it's just in the sim that all the programming stops working - that is to say, my profile (how I have programmed all the buttons etc.) is unloaded and a default (I…

Hello , I had my saitek yoke, rudder pedals and throttle quadrant working perfectly well in windows 10 till a couple of days back. After a certain windows update, all of the sudden the green lights on those would go off after windows 10 is booted up.Hence they do not work in P3Dv3 anymore. After searching google, i installed the windows 10 saitek drivers for those. After installing the drivers and rebooting windows, the green lights as well as the red lights on the radio panel keep blinking. I need to restart the machine a second time to get all of them to work. Basically i now need to restart the computer twice to have the green lights on for the devices to be usabl…

I posted a new topic today (12-18-2015) in the Windows 10 Forum here on Avsim that might help some of you who may be having trouble with your Saitek flight controls. Posted in Windows 10 instead of here for better relevance. Look for the topic: Finally! Issue free Saitek Cessna Pro Flight drivers for Windows 10

I'm currently using the Saitek Throttle Quadrant, and I'm less than satisfied. I'm therefore looking for something for flying mostly GA twins in X-Plane and P3D. I have looked at the CH Throttle Quadrant, but I don't really like the look. Saiteks do look good, and have fairly good mounting, but the pots are just to cheap. Does anyone have any recommendations?

  6. I'm having a problem with my Saitek TQ where I always have to disable/enable it after I started P3D (2.5). I'm using Windows 10 Pro x64 build 10586.29. What is funny is when using a utility called USBDeview I see that the controller is enabled but still the little green led light on the controller isn't illuminated but becomes after I disable/enable it. Anyone else having this problem and found a solution to it? I guess one thing I could try is to use another USB port.

  7. Using "ProFlight_FSX_Plugin_7_0_40_9_x64_Software" driver for my Cessna Trim Wheel, I still in trouble with Windows 10 Pro and Prepar3d V2.5. Each time I launch Windows and test the Trim wheel in its config panel or the simulator, it freezed, it freezed my mouse too (RAT 9) and windows. I must do a reset. The only way I find to make it work is to shut down my power unit. So now each time I shut my computer, I'm obliged to shut down too the unit. A little bit tiring has the long. Do you have the same problem ? Regards Phil

Yesterday, after having sold my Saitek Pro pedals ( the cheaper set ), I bought the Combat Pro model, which looks and feels sturdy, and very precise, but I was somehow disappointed with the available toe brake course - too short.... Any hints on mitigating this apparent limitation of an otherwise very good RCS ?

  9. Hi, I have an issue. Today I received my USB RC adapter for R/C transmitters, and I thought to use it for P3D(A bit epic ), I entered the PPM calibration in "control panel", and when I tried to calibrate, it did recognize my axis, but each axis display a different role, for example, the Z axis is for the "throttle" , and instead of that, when I play with the axis, it controls the buttons of my transmitter in a strage way... Maybe can it be due to low battery of the transmitter? I hope I can get the answer here. Thanks

I've been using an xbox 360 controller, but want to get a new joystick. I fly mostly GA and PMDG 777/737 and Aerosoft Airbus. Need some suggestions and recommendations. I am using P3D v3 btw and Windows 7. So needs something that is compatible with both. Thanks!

For some time, I have been trying to achieve graphics in P3D v3 to a standard to those members who post their screen shots , H L James and others post very high clarity pictures which I've been unable to match. The result of course is to go down the dreaded track of tweak after tweak. A couple of weeks ago I came across an article by Derek Wilson (2009), Exploring Input Lag Inside and Out. In his first paragraph he mentions "1ms can be the difference between your input getting to the software in time to be included in the next frame. Most of the time it won't. Of course, the difference between 8ms and 2ms could actually make a frame of difference (up to 16.67ms) in inpu…

  14. (Site in subject should read Saitek of course. Hate spell checkers ! :-))) Saitek Trim Wheel/ Windows 7/64 system/Driver is recognizing trim wheel on every boot. Background on this; Connected to USB 2.0 port directly into a Jetline dedicated FSX system with all updating working perfectly. Used latest Saitek driver from their website. Installed driver exactly as directed by Mad Katz. Wheel shows working perfectly both in Windows and in FSX. Not using FSUIPC. All FSX settings for the wheel show perfectly. All default axis and button assignments deleted. Only Trim axis for elevator assigned for wheel. No conflicts with other controllers. All checked and deleted where need…

I am using P3D 3.0 with CH Eclipse Yoke and Pedals. Other utilities and addons used are PMDG 737NGX, EZDOK and FSUIPC(registered). I need suggestions on how to configure the left hat as electric trim. I've tried a couple of directions without complete success.

Hi, For many, many years I was using joystick to fly my beloved planes, but decided to step forward and bought Saitek Cessna yoke. What is my experience after first 2 days ? - horrible ! I don't know how to fly. Planes are having so slow response that controlling is hard challenge. Q400 or 737 behave like fully loaded bomber from 2WW... Same planes, same sim, but totally different experience. Enough to say that I can hardly land my favourite planes which I know for years. Even I manage to land, my landings are horrible. Please tell me, my problem is something which is coming from lack of 'yoke experience', or something is to be setup differently ? ( my …

I'd really like to get a hardware CDU rather than use the software versions that come with some a/c, but apart from some Googling, I am right at the start of investigating the possibilities. Can anyone please answer some beginner's questions: 1. Anyone here actually use a hardware CDU and give some recommendations? There a number out there. 2. Are any 'generic' CDUs available? In other words, a CDU that can be used in all aircraft - b737s/777s/a320s etc... i.e. has programmable buttons? This may not be so realistic, but otherwise it's going to be very expensive buying a separate CDU for every a/c I want to fly! (Or is that the only way?) 3. How does a hardware CDU …

  20. Hi, I'm Marco, and I'm new to the forum! I just wanted to ask for a bit of help here - I got a Speedlink Black Widow Flight Stick last year for Christmas, and it worked like a dream up until the end of October. The main issue with it is that the one of the rudder leavers only work, and if I press it, the rudder locks to the left and is then immobile. Whenever I put the throttles up to 100% it always spins around the runway and therefore it is almost impossible to leave the ground. If anyone could maybe point me in the right direction here it would be much appreciated. Thanks Marco P.S. Hello from Glasgow, Scotland!

  23. Started by ESzczesniak,

I'm looking for input on a step up from the Saitek pro-flight range. I have their yoke, 2 quadrants, and rudder pedals. I have had them for years (6+ years, I think about 9). They work, but after getting the Thrustmaster Warthog and appreciating how much smoother the movement is as well as how clean the digital signal is, I am looking to maybe find something similar for GA/commercial yoke type setup. The issues I'm particularly trying to get past are: 1) signal spikes on the throttle axes, 2) inconsistent readouts at same control position (one time it's 10%, then 9%, then 11%, etc of max value), 3) difficulty syncing throttles, and 4) deadzone in the yoke (although I …

  24. Morning one and all, After much deliberation I took the plunge on Friday and bought the X55 and 'wasted' (in my fiancées eyes) the weekend on FSX configuring the controls. Having not being able to get the throttles to work on the Aerosoft A318/319, I gave up and moved onto the PMDG 737NGX and 777 with much more success. However, I knew before buying that the X55 doesn't have a reverse thrust detent, I've set the Speedbrake thumb slider on the throttle for that. The issue I'm having is that when I take the thottles back to idle, a bit of reverse thrust is kicking in, the speedbrakes are deploying and V1, Vr & V2 are getting thrown out of the FMC. Over the cou…

Boys and Girls, After a little help please. I have a Saitek X52 pro but seem to have a little braking issue. My brakes run through the trigger yet when I release the trigger the brakes stay on unless I double tap it to release them. Whilst its not the biggest issue in the world I do find it a tad annoying, after all you kind of expect the brakes to release when you take the pressure off. Many thanks Karl
