Hardware Controllers: Joysticks/Yokes | Throttle Quads | Rudder Pedals | Drivers etc

This is a forum to discuss issues with Joysticks, pedals, yokes, other interface hardware like panels, etc.

  1. Hello, I have a MADCATZ FLY 5 Joystick, with 2 throttle levers, and I want to make those 2 levers, control the 4 engines of the pmdg 747. I know I can do it with FSUIPC, but the problem is that the latest version of FSUIPC doesn´t record(if this is the right word) my data very well, because with KLM Virtual's ACARSng, I get very very low landing rates, so I know it´s related with the last version of FSUIPC. (When I got back to the previous version, problem solved!) My question is. Can I purchase the previous version of FSUIPC? Is there any other way to assign the joystick levers to the engines without using FSUIPC? Like the left lever controls engine 1 and 2 …

  2. I am considering getting the PFC throttle quadrants for turboprops and jets. PFC has told me, however, that the reverser feature of these TQs can't be programmed through fsuipc and will only work in X-Plane, not P3D. Apparently this wasn't always the case with earlier versions of the TQs and fsuipc. I was wondering if anyone has experience with the current USB version of these TQs and the current version 4 of fsuipc. If so, have you encountered this problem and what have you done to work around it? I have the impression that the dedicated reverser lever on the jet TQ can't be mapped to an axis using fsuipc and thus is useless. So I am supposing that one needs to …

Any idea how to calibrate reverse from the detent near the end of the travel to the fully back position. On the CH throttles the potentiometers give a change in resistance that allows you to select reverse (via FSUIPC) by moving the throttles back past the detent to the fully back position. It does not seem to be possible to do this with the Saitek item because there does not seem to be any change in output.

  4. Hi Guys I am facing an identified but rarely resolved issue with my Saitek Quadrant: the engine throttle 1 cannot be set properly... I have visited many forums and could fine similar problem experienced by other :simfans". I have therefore applied the differents actions suggested such as: verified the possibility of having multiple assignments for the same control: no duplicate calibrated the throttles through Windows, taking care of the dead zones: nothing unusual, no dead zone set calibrated the same through FSX: no issue applied the method "macwino" described in a post on SimFlight forum (topic 73846) consisting in deleting folders in Windows Registry...no impact T…

Hi guys, I recently purchased a used Vmax yoke, which is a few years old and I believe was made by PFC. I have been having some erratic behaviour with the elevator/pitch travel. On closer inspection it appears that the potentiometer (?) may be worn and needs replacing. I have been in touch with PFC and they say they no longer stock the parts or provide support for the unit. I am no expert in electronics, in fact a bit of a noob, but I am thinking it would be a question of a replacement part (?) I understand form PFC that I need a 100k ohm potentionmeter with a 100mm travel. Can anyone offer any advice on how I should proceed. Thanks fellas.

I seem to have an issue with the throttles. I use FSUIPC with my saitek proflight throttle axises. My normal throttle axis is set to throttle and then my prop pitch is set to another axis. I have no problems starting the engines. I have the throttle set at 100% and I start my lift. If I lower my throttle at all the helicopter falls out of the sky. Can anybody help me? I have to lower the throttle to land, it can't be full the whole time. Thank you.

Hello The yoke has been working fine till today. Something happened and Saitke Pro Yoke is not longer responding on FSX PC. I use powered USB hub and all other controls like Rudder pedal and TQ connected to the same hub are fine. If I change port the HUB detects yoke and green light on the toke is on, after few seconds the green light turns off and dedicated USB port shows that there is no connection anymore. I connected directly to PC, still same issue. Windows does not show yoke in control panel as well. I wonder if there is a way to figure out what is causing issue. I connected yoke to a laptop with W10 and yoke was detected and in Yoke properties I see no is…

Looking for any reviews on the 737 throttle quadrant they have with or without the stand. I was looking at throttletek and came upon this site and looks very good ecspecially for the price. Curious how sturdy it feels or is it just plastic, also how stable the sand is. Any other reviews would be great. Thanks ahead of time!

I was wondering if the VRInsight MCP Combo is compatible with P3D. On the website I find it, it says FS2004/FSX, but often it's still universal. I mean this model: http://www.vrinsight.com/public_html/index.php?module=Html&action=SiteComp&sSubNo=6 I would love to hear if someone has it working with P3D(v3)

Hi. Just checking if anyone has similar setup. Windows 10 Pro, 2 sets of Saitek TQ: one came as a bundle with Yoke and connected to the yoke via SP/2 port, the second one is separate and has USB port. Both green lights are on when connected which tells me there is power for both TQ. However only one of them works which has USB. That one connected to Yoke does not work, FSX does not even detects it. Windows shows both controls are fine. I heard that many people had issues with TQ on W10 OS, but my USB TQ works great, no spikes as I have on W7. Now it works great on W10, but the second one with SP/2 port is dead now. I wonder if anyone had similar issues and it there…

  16. Hello, I am trying to make by myself USB Expansion card from Opencockpits. Can somebody tell me what capacitos are there. Blue is ceramic 22pF. Green is 220nF - it is ceramic, but a liitle bigger then blue, so what kind of ceramic capacitor it is? And most important question: red - 0.1mF = 100uF. Is it tantalum capacitor? *** Can You send me some pictures of your usb expansion cards, where there will'be those capacitors? Thanks, Michal Pierzchala

Greetings, I have been a long time user of TrackIR 5. I currently use the passive reflector that clips on a hat. I've been looking at the Track Clip Pro, but it is not wireless and my USB ports are mostly used up. There is a company that offers an alternative called TrackHat. The LEDs are imbedded in the cap and are run by a rechargable battery (10 hr use claimed). They also have a clip which is rechargeable and apparently quite sturdy. The website claims full compatibility with TrackIR; although they also offer a modestly priced camera with open source software. I digress. Has anyone checked out, or had experience with the hat? Many thanks in advance.

Hi All, I've got an x52 pro from Saitek that I love, its a great stick with one issue; the PS/2 cable. I've recently got back into simming and using my oculus rift, which is great. THere is one small problem, because of the way I need to configure everything to be near to hand whilst flying, I often have to have the joystick on a tray on my lap, or on a custom made joystick holder fitted to my chair. The problem is that if the chair, I, or the Cat(!) move it often pulls the cable out of the joystick, which has resulted in several fatal virtual accidents... Does anyone have a nifty way of securing that cable in the hole that works? It's driving me mad! …

Is anybody using a Microsoft FF2 joystick with FSX or P3D in Windows 10? If so, does FS Force work normally in Windows 10 (why would you be using force feedback without it)? I'm considering moving to Windows 10 closer to the July, free, deadline when I build my new system but I'm not prepared to have force feedback compromised.

I have been thinking about this for quite a while, but figured I would get some opinions here. I lost my right leg below the knee in a traumatic work accident a few years ago. I have recently gotten back into the sim hobby in a big (and expensive) way with all the add on products. I am currently using a Saitek X-55, but I am really missing the ability to properly control my yaw axis. During a real flight I took not too log ago in a Piper Warrior, I was asking my friend if he had ever had a student with a similar situation. He explained that he has had quite a few, and that what they typically do to activate the toe brakes is just slide their foot up the pedal. I g…

  22. Hello, I have recently ran into this problem with my Pro Flight Yoke. When starting up, the yoke's clock will display either "r", "p", or One of two with the second time ticking (Barely able to see the second though) Here is an example of what it looks like: Any help? Thanks!

Hi all- Just bought the new Carenado C90 GTX. I've got a Hotas Warthog throttle unit where the right side (lever) controls the throttle and the left side (lever) is not being used. When I go into control assignments, propeller axis one and two are both there. I've tested one by assigning the left lever and it works, for that lever only. What I need to do is to 'hook' those two prop levers together and assign them both to the one available lever. Any ideas on how to do this? I have no idea, so far :>) Thanks, Mark

I have excellent CH controllers on my desktop. Now i have source for good gaming laptop that will run FS9 (won't run FSX good enough). Will keep the laptop in living room front of TV. Looking for a cheap joystick (programable) that will run in Windows 10. I understand the Saitek all give problems with drivers in win 10. Probably those are too expensive anyway. Looking for a stick under $50. Thanks.
