Hardware Controllers: Joysticks/Yokes | Throttle Quads | Rudder Pedals | Drivers etc

This is a forum to discuss issues with Joysticks, pedals, yokes, other interface hardware like panels, etc.

  1. OK. Guys, this is the first post as it's in bits still. The Thrustmaster Warthog is such an amazing piece of kit, for a long time I've wanted to create a proper extension to give it the right feel. I've looked at literally hundreds of pictures on Google and here and other forums too. My problem...Nobody I've does it right! So, in trying to fix this, I thought a bit on a design that I wanted. I have designed up a plate that sits on the top of the main body, to replace the alloy circular trim, and locates four Radio Controlled car shocks. A machined alloy fitting takes an original Guilloy sourced DIN plug and alloy screw on fitting to locate a threaded post, …

Has anyone been able to get the Elite MEL TQ working in P3DV4? Elite has recently provided drivers but the download lacks the Elite FS Add-on software to complete plug-in. I did discuss with Elite support and there is a bug message on one of their support pages but that's in reference to earlier P3D versions. In short, it's been a bust for me.

Hello, my I tried to mount my Saitek Pro Flight Yoke to the table and the ring that the screw goes into broke. Anyone had the same issue? Any idea how to mount the yoke without the "bottom part"? Thanks! Thomas

Hi all, I've been using joysticks since the early days of Chuck Yeager's Advanced Flight Trainer (probably ran at 3 FPS on our old Apple IIGS... ) I've owned multiple CH, Thrustmaster (F-16 model), Logitech (remember the Wingman series?), MIcrosoft (FF2), and Saitek models over the years. Recently, my CH Fighterstick finally starting having finicky travel on the X-axis so I went shopping for a replacement. We truly are in a blessed time for flight simulation, with sticks from Thrustmaster, CH Products, Logitech, etc. available at all levels of pricing. I receive the X-Plane.org newsletter and was caught off guard by a joystick they were advertising, the VKB Glad…

There have been a number of simmers asking for recommendations on controllers. I have four Saitek controllers purchased over three years ago, and generally have had no problems. But now that Logitek has acquired the company, have discovered that support for the Saitek devices is virtually non-existant. For some reason today, my PC stopped recognizing any of my Saitek devices. The general recommendation is to download and re-install the drivers. The Logitech download site does not have the 64 bit version for all of the controllers. It did have the 64 bit driver for the Throttle Quadrant, but when I ran the installer, it does not complete. It locks up at one of the "Next" p…

I am flying the A2A Comanche in P3D v4 a lot and was wondering what would be the best yoke plus quadrant to get for it? I'd love to have hardware that looks like the real thing but can't find anything. In fact, I can only find the Logitech G Saitek Pro Flight Yoke System... It is rather cheap and I wonder if it is any good or if there are better alternatives. Obviously it all has to work with P3D v4. Any ideas?

Although all are recognised in the computer. Does anyone know what Might be causing my problem?

Hi, not sure this is the proper forum, but i have tried several times to sign up for the FSUIPC forum with no luck. I have a switch on the yoke that i want to program for flap control through FSUIPC. I have it set under buttons and switches, but rather than move flaps one notch at a time, moving the switch with just a quick touch lowers full flaps, and also does same in reverse. I want it to move one notch only. Can anyone recommend a solution? Thanks!

  10. Hallo I am building my own yoke. At the moment, I am considering what control functions to build in the yoke handle: To start, I can think of: - POV hat switch - pitch trim - roll trim - yaw trim - ... What control functions would you consider necessary and desirable to build in? Looking forward to hear your view.

  11. Yeh sure the yoke gets a 10/10 because its a top yoke you can have for a simulator, be it the 737 or any other Boeing. This yoke will get you as close as to the real thing. BUT the after sales is absolutely terrible, they sent me the yoke without the clipboard and its been 3 months with ONLY 1 email 6 weeks ago saying - Sorry I have been away on holidays and then my brothers wedding. We have Clipboards in stock and sending one to you immediately with the checklist. Sincerely, Haris 6 weeks later and NO CLIPBOARD i have sent a further 10 emails in that time with no reply. I believe i'm not the first to have such a problem. So a word of warning if …

  12. I have had this issue for some time and it's pretty annoying at times. When I click on certain menu buttons in the scenario screen (Flight planner, load flight plan, exit cross on the upper right side) nothing happens and I have to click countless times for windows to open. When they do open, they open several times in quick succession. This happened first in P3D v3 after I tried the flyinside demo. The issue persisted after uninstalling the software and even carried over to P3D v4.

Hello I am trying to set up my Thrustmaster Warthog within P3D v4 using a registered copy of FSUIPC5. I require guidance and advice on the procedure. I understand that several of the buttons and switches require macros to be setup in order for them to work but FSUIPC5 does not support the macro feature. I understand that there is a procedure to map buttons and switces without using macros but I am findind the procedure too dificult to use. Can anyone assist or guide me step by step in setting up my Thrustmaster Warthog are there any tutorials or guides for dummies? Clive Alexander

  14. Dear all, I hope someone can help me in this forum. I am having an issue with the VRinsight MCP Combo II. If you have a look at the picture that I attached you will see that the combo display does not show Speed, ALT, HDG and V/S (only 000). Now I have found this topic - but I think it is related to Linda, while I use the software VRiSim of VRinsight, moreover I struggle to understand the FIX as I am not very used to coding. I have already thought of switching to Linda, but I have not managed to get it to work as I think it doesn't support fsuipc 5. At least version 2.9.6 triggers Fsuipc 4 in the options menu. I have not found something in the internet (maybe I am t…

  17. I'm moving from a Win 7 Pro machine to a new Win 10 machine and I'm hoping to use my Saitek X-55 Think stick and throttle on the new machine. I know there were some serious issues with the Saitek drivers on Windows 10, but despite all my searching, posts on the topic seem to have dried up in the last 18 months. I don't know if things were ever resolved or if Saitek users were sort of screwed on W10. Can anybody give me current status? If the drivers are stilled in chaos, my plan B was to simply use the plug n play default drivers and hope for the best, assigning buttons directly in P3D and XP11. However, if I try to install the Saitek drivers, I'm worried plan B will…

My Saitek X-55 HOTAS joystick pumps out X and Y axis commands. This is good. These axis commands control the ailerons and elevator on FSX aircraft. Oddly enough, my Saitek X-55 HOTAS throttles are pumping out the same X and Y commands to control the engine(s) throttle. As a result, I have zero control of the engines with HOTAS throttles and if I move throttle #1 the ailerons move abruptly, Throttle #2 moves the elevator. Bad. According to the controller setup FSX-SE looks to the Z axis to control the engine throttles. Why then, does my Saitek throttles pump out X and Y axis commands? Is there a way to program/direct the throttles to send out Z axis commands or, …

  20. Hi All, I am about to start my PPL training and have been considering selling my Saitek X-55 and replacing it with a yoke. I would love a YOKO yoke but cannot justify the price tag right now. I have found that I can get a CH Products Eclipse Flight Simulator Yoke (200-616) online for around $250 CDN. Does anyone have one of these ? If so I would like to hear what you think about this yoke. Does this suffer form the horrible detent that my previous Saitek yoke did? I know the X-55 has Hall sensors and I am not expecting the CH Yoke to be as sensitive but i'd really like a yoke to replicate as close as possible the Cessna 172 I will be learning in. …

I bought the product a few years ago, but always had an issue regarding the throttle axis. Throttle sensitivity is adequate along a given direction. However, as soon as small outputs in the opposite direction are desired, granularity drops significantly. When, for example, the throttle is advanced just up to 50%, pulling it slightly back to the position where it used to register 47 (just prior of reaching 50) doesnt yield any response. It is as if a deadzone is automatically set, stretching about 10% of hardware movement range. The first lower position to be registered would be around 40. The throttle position can simply be jiggled back and forth for a relatively wid…

I really am hoping someone can help with this, as it has got my stumped. I have just installed Windows 10 alongside P3D V4 and have come up against a brick wall. I have Saitek combat pedals, a PFC yoke and Warthog yoke. None have the dedicated drivers installed. I have successfully calibrated the Saitek pedals and they work fine. But for the PFC yoke and Warthog throttle I have problems. They have both been calibrated in Windows and work in every position, they work in every position inside P3D settings, but they do not work ingame, except for the ailerons, but the elevator and throttle refuse to work. Those two don't work in FSUIPC either, unlike the pedals and the ailer…

I recently acquired a Saitek X52 (not the Pro version) throttle and stick and I think I have a problem with the Y axis (elevator) I noticed through FSUIPC that the output values of the elevator axis stop changing about halfway through the stick's travel, i.e. you can move the stick past where it has any effect on the aircraft elevators. Is this normal for an X52? I had an X36 previously and that changed values through the full range of movement.
