Hardware Controllers: Joysticks/Yokes | Throttle Quads | Rudder Pedals | Drivers etc

This is a forum to discuss issues with Joysticks, pedals, yokes, other interface hardware like panels, etc.

  1. After performing well for almost 8 years, my TrackIR 5 died last night. I bought it in the summer of 2010, and it's served me well for years. The camera section of the TrackIR application shows only solid red lines, which is an indication that the camera has stopped functioning properly. I've already ordered another one. Come to think of it, this is the first time I've replaced a piece of equipment with exactly the same piece of equipment (and not an upgrade of some sort). 😁 I just can't live without a TrackIR after using it for so long.

  2. Sorry if this post is in the wrong place! It relates to the relatively new Carenado Saab 340 which I have installed in to FSX Accelerator. My problem is that after this installation my CH Products Throttle Quadrant does not seem to be responding either in the throttle use nor the switch use. Any thoughts as to how I can get the Carenado S340 to work with my CH Products Throttle Quadrant. Many Thanks for any help.

Today I managed to drop a class of water and some landed through the grooves of the throttle. Its basically stuffed and just doing random movements when i move the throttles. Ive tried using electronic contact cleaner but didn't help. Anything else I can try or do I bin them

  4. HELP! I would be grateful if anyone who has the installation CD or drivers for Saitek's radio panel for FSX in Windows XP 32bit let me know. I contacted Logitech support and they told me they don't have the CD anymore and that they don't have the XP drivers anymore. I tried finding Saitek's customer support email, but they all point to Logitech now. I plan on changing the OS to Win 7, but not right away, and would love to have the panel working in XP. I've installed SPAD, and it shows everything works, but it doesn't. Any help would be really appreciated. Steve

  5. This has been a longstanding issue for me with Win 8.1 and I wondered if anyone on this forum had experienced the same problem and found a solution. It occurs with my USB joystick, Saitek yoke and throttle. I uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" for the Power Management properties in all the HID's, but then a few days or weeks later, my devices stop functioning mid-flight and I discover that some of them are checked again. There doesn't seem to be a way of permanently saving the setting. Any thoughts would be welcome!

So after many Reading im stuck trying to assign a macro to the knobs sdo i can control addon complex AC like the flight1atr. I have installed spad 0.50.1 + fsuipc registered. when i go into fsx and fsuipc: Buttons and switches, it wont detect the multipanel knob. After Reading the internet i realice i could go back to spad and change it so as to appear as a joystick. In that case fsuipc will now detect the knob, and creating a macro in the same tab as button and switches im able to crĆ©ate the macro but the window of the saitek panel is frozen at 99000 feet with the alt button illuminated. If i go back to the fsuipc…

Hello fellow captains I recently got a nice deal on some GoFlight modules. I tought to get a good deal for my P3Dv4.2. I do not have any experience with go flight modules! I now got the GF-LGT, TQ6, T8, 3x 166A, 2x P8. All very nice in a stack! After a week trying and trying I now got the TQ6 working. That is the only module. I read some stuff about USB 3.0 not working with the black modules so I already put aside my brand new USB HUB. But also if I just connect my LGT and TQ6 to my PC the LGT will not work, same with the 166A. Maybe there is somebody here who can help me. I already got the GIT but this is stuff for PC gods and not f…

  8. I have a "Desktop Aviator model 2450B" gps unit (with the vga screen) that I'm contemplating including in a new cockpit build. I haven't installed the unit before, and have a few questions, should anyone here be familiar with these units: (1) Sim compatibility: I understand they are compatible with FSX. I would like to know if they work with FSX Steam and/or Prepar3d? (2) Reliability: Before I make up a place for it in the cockpit, I'd like to know whether these units reliably install and operate? I ask because I see the manufacturer no longer offers these units. Any advice is appreciated, Many thanks, Brian Vancouver, BC

  9. Hi all ! I am on the search for a new throttle quadrant and I would be so glad to hear your experience or suggestions! My old saitek quadrant has started spiking a lot and have also broken one of its levers by accident some years ago, so I consider buying a new system. I have to say, that I am not flying one type of aircraft. Rather I fly nearly all kinds of quality airplanes released for P3D/XP11. After searching a lot, my options seems to be the following: Options in the 200 EUR price range: 1) Wait for the Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant (http://flyhoneycomb.com/bravo-throttle-quadrant-2/). This system is the best solution for me as you can confi…

Dear: I'm looking for brand new Saitek Pro yoke & pedals. I stay in Bangladesh. No such yoke/pedals are available in Bangladesh. However, for a training on Boeing 787 B2 Maintenance, now I am at Singapore. I searched in the shops here. But they are telling that no more Saitek pro yoke is available at Singapore. They have CH yoke, thrust master rudder pedals and Logitech throttle quadrant. How good will those be for my fsx and/or P3Dv4? Please suggest. Regards, Haseen Ahmad.

Hi all. I have the Saitek pro flight yolk and have a faulty switch. It is the one on the left marked A1 A2, A1 is the faulty one. I have tried all of the usual tests, new drivers, different pc. It also doesn't register on the gamepad test screen in the control panel. Changing the mode select on the right hand has no effect. I have also stripped down the yolk handles and continuity tested the switch and wiring to the control panel, all ok. This is where my little expert knowledge stops. Any help is appreciated. Regards Roy

  12. Just picked up these bad boys! First of all, a little background... A few years back, I had a set of CH Pedals. I used them for IL2 and WWIIOnline. I thought they were "OK", but too close together and a bit...clunky. Eventually I sold them and about 3 years ago I got heavily into DCS World (The A-10c to be specific) and I bought a set of Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals. I liked the size and width a lot better than the CH and they felt more substantial being metal pedals (went nice with my Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog ) but the downsides were they were freezing in the winter when flying in socks and again, I couldn't shake the feeling that they were...clunky. Af…

Hello all, After much Googling, YouTubing, head scratching, misleading driver info and WD40 spraying, my Saitek Yoke throttle set seems destined for the recycle bin. I just wondered if anyone has fitted a Saitek Quadrent set in that part of the circuit by splicing into the original cable from the yoke to make it think it's the original or.... simply add another Quadrent into a hub. I'd rather not go for another yoke assembly for obvious reasons. Any input much appreciated. Regards, Richard.

Greetings! I am a new member and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Gunnar, I am retired military and my son is an aspiring pilot. He is 16 and should solo coming up later this spring. We are having tech problems with his Saitek Pro Yoke System running on Windows 10 64 bit. Where would be the most appropriate place to post a tech question asking for help with a non-op yoke? Thanks!

  17. I am a bit confused about using fsuipc to assign and calibrate controllers. The few tutorials I have found either do not disable controllers in the sim or are not complete. Will someone please tell me where to get a recent and full set of instructions? Thanks in advance N Howard

  19. Just got a new Thrustmaster T.Flight Stick X joystick. It works well with FSX, but I just can't figure out the automatic and manual programming modes. It has a red light to show the automatic (default) mode, but you can change the light to green and set up your own button functions. The manual is not clear at all about how to do this. I also don't understand the mapping button. Can anyone that has this stick tell me how to do the manual programming?

Hello to all. Does anyone here have FS Force? More specifically, do you use a MSFFB2 joystick? If you have ever experienced frequent loss of forces I’d like to hear from you! Or if you have both the program with the joystick, and have never had such issues, I’d like to hear from you as well. Thanks!

  23. Started by Gnacino,

Got my yoke from ACE. Nice looking and sturdy. I replaced it from a GF 737 desktop yoke. The GF yoke was nice and worked well, no complaints, but I wanted a column yoke and I mostly fly PMDG's T7. One slight problem that has me baffled. The trigger button, the one in the backt of the yoke handle, is somehow mapped to the approach mode on the AP. I can't reassign it for anything else. I have deleted all the assignments for it in FSX-SE, in FSUIPC, and LINDA. It still is programmed to arm the approach mode. It will take other assignments, but it will also arm the approach. Where else can I look to see what is used to assign this. I contacted ACE, they are looking…

Hi I am usung P3D v4.1 and am thinking of getting the Saitek Multi panel. My question, does it work out of the box or do I need Linda or Spad? I have the M Panel, but the text is getting a bit too small to read for my old eyes. I think the Saitek model has bigger text. Any review also? Many thanks John
