Hardware Controllers: Joysticks/Yokes | Throttle Quads | Rudder Pedals | Drivers etc

This is a forum to discuss issues with Joysticks, pedals, yokes, other interface hardware like panels, etc.

I have been learning to use the configuration tool for my new Honeycomb yoke and throttle to use with the PMDG 737 NGXu, mainly with the help of the YouTube video posted by MrJaraNet. His video directed me to an Aerosoft link to download a profile which is good but not perfect and I am learning to edit the variables. In the video he states that press events normally do not require a value. But in the downloaded profile they all contain the value 536870912. Does anyone know what this number represents? 2. After lots of research I've not come up with the real solution, but this should work very well for from Amazon. Whenever I reboot, the Saitek Pro Flight Yoke's X-axis migrates several degrees to the right. I've tried the other measures deleting entries in the registry and so forth, and really what matters is simply disconnecting the yoke and reconnecting it then it initializes correctly and both axes are centered and stay that way until we reboot. This little switch saves from having to pull the plug out of its USB port and and reinserting it every time you reboot, and is only $6.99. The male end is actually 32" long I'm told. It will be here tomorrow so can verify th…

  3. I know this doesn't belong here but I visited the hardware forum to try to find the solution for this problem which affects other users, so I post in case you haven't visited the hardware forum on this issue lately: https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/593124-solution-for-drifting-x-axis-center-for-saitek-pro-flight/?do=findComment&comment=4447702 In a nutshell simply disconnecting/reconnecting the yoke's USB connection re-centers it always. Unfortunately it doesn't stick when I reboot. To avoid wearing out the female USB port on my PC I acquired the simple switch. I try to remember to hit the switch when I shut down for the day, then just toggle it on AFTE…

Hello, I was wondering if anyone new the difference between Rheostats and Potentiometers ? I found this article that explain it a bit Rheostat Explanation but doesn't go into detail . I was wondering if anyone might know? Reason I am asking is the rheostat broke in my control module for my flight simulator , I was going to replace it. But only can find potentiometers as replacement parts not rheostats. Any and all info / help would be great !

  5. Anyone discover how to set up reverse props with the range below the detents on the throttle levers? I am trying to get it to work on a couple of FSX SE aircraft, most notably the RealAir Tubine Duke v2, and the Carenado 208B.

Hallo, What are you using for steering tiller? I am using rudder pedals, Saitek yoke, airbus joystick (so no Z axis for rudder or tiller) I want to use a game controller like Xbox and using the buttons on the back of the controller. (In a reace game the right one is accelerate and the left one braking) to use the steering tiller. But is this possible? Or do you have another nice option?

Is there anyone out there that can share a script to program the extended buttons and the annunciator panel via FSUIPC / LUA ?

  9. In this video I show you a very easy and effective way to add a Dual Rotary Encoder with a Push button to any flight simulator (Flight Simulator X, 2020, Prepar3d or X-Plane). Very few components are required but this project is also very budget friendly, and can be easy to complete with very little experience.

I'm remotely trying to fix this yoke for another simmer and I'm stuck. He is using FSX but the problem happens even without the sim being launched, in the Windows 7 Joystick control panel. There is no issue when moving the yoke just left and right. But if he pushes the yoke, then the small cursor in the config panel also moves left (around mid range), i.e. the aileron is also activated. When pulling the yoke, it moves the cursor to the far right. I have no idea how to fix this behaviour. The guy told me that it was working fine before he wrongly reset the controls config in the sim (obliging me to reconfigure each axis and button). But anyway, the behaviour…

I need to replace the pot that controls left/right axis, or ailerons. The makings are HP100A 1044. Any know where one can be ordered? Thank for any help.

  12. I just bought this yoke and TQ and it works great except for one nasty: the X axis always ends up a few degrees right of center, and for some reason there is no calibration option in Windows 10 as there was in Win 7 for this product. Moreover, the indicator in P3D's calibration routine or MSFS' wiggles slightly in its position right of center. I tried removing the calibration settings via a routine someone made that clears calibration in the registry but it doesn't help. To me this seems like a hardware defect. If so, is this unique to my particular unit? I can still send it back I believe.

  13. Old time simmer, but just getting back to it with msfs after a long absence. Had product for a couple days and frame rates were typically 50-60fps. Today I decided to configure my MS Sidewinder X6 keyboard and Logitech G400s mouse. Downloaded software for both but now if I click the mouse once the flight has started, frame rate drops to 5 fps and cannot recover. Uninstalled both aforementioned software, rebooted without mouse, used different mouse - all numerous times. Now at wits end. Using an xbox controller while my new stick is on order, that seems ok to pan camera and do what it does. Just the mouse stops everything. MSFS 2020 is a sream version. New PC buil…

  15. I recently bought a Saitek pedals and yoke (Pro Flight, not Cessna) setup to get back into FSX (it has been quite a while and my old joystick won't Z-axis anymore). I'm noticing that I can't seem to get the yoke to perform evenly for rolls (X-Axis I think). At first, it had a big deadzone (not configured, but in practice) to the left. I had to rotate left about 15 degrees before anything would start happening. Rolling right worked A-OK. So, I did the Saitek registry fix to recalibrate. Now it is improved, but there still seems to be a bit of a center deadzone that isn't defined but is at least close-ish to centered now. There also seems to be a bit of deadzone a…

So I just came from a Saitek Cessna yoke. I've had 2 of them over the years. The first was a proflight yoke that failed after about 2 years. Then I upgraded or rather cross graded to a Cessna proflight yoke. Actually it was more of a downgrade. I like the thicker handle of the pro flight yoke but the Cessna yoke hade the look of the Cessna 172 that I grew use to when flying IRL. However both yoke had very little elevator travel, only 3 inches and vary week and sketchy feel. Not to mention the awful detent both in pitch and roll. I can't understand why the manufacturer thought it would be a good idea to have a detent. But I paid the $170 for each of then and you get wh…

  18. So, I finally got my new Alpha yoke after months of maneuvering and waiting ... and I have a problem: the USB-C cable just barely makes a connection in the receptacle on the back of the yoke, it doesn’t go in far enough to be very secure. So if you so much as blink at it it disconnects. The cable itself looks fine, but to me it seems like the receptacle is recessed inside the back plate a tad (like, a sub-millimeter amount) more than it could be, and the cable’s housing is too big to fit into the plastic slot. That combination means it’s just barely inserted - sorta like when you get too much pocket lint in your phone charging port. Does this issue sound famili…

Hello, My PCB board has 9 resistors of 1KOHM and 10 resistors of 10KOhm. Unfortunately they are all marked R1 thru R19, and I dont know which is ,1 and which is 10. I looked at the diptrace file, and it does not have an Ohm values. Is there some way I could figure out which is which, by looking at where it goes, or something else?

Hi everyone and happy Holidays! Re: Preorder of Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant I placed my order (I thought from Honeycomb ) as soon as the order link was active and received an email I was in week 2. I miss read the email thinking it was Honey Comb and I did not realize until last month my order was from Flight Velocity. Are they a reliable company? I have no idea who they are and never done business with them. I have to believe they are doing their best dealing with Honeycomb but the last email (12/8) indicated they should start shipping tomorrow 12/21 for which I have little confidence. I'm a US Military Veteran and operations such as the sale and …

  22. I finally decided to go ahead and get a high end yoke to increase my immersion in the simulator. The yoke feels great. Plenty of mass and very smooth movement. I'm running windows 10, P3D and XP11. I calibrated the yoke in windows and noticed that the behavior was a little odd. Pitch seems to smoothly go to the extents, but when centered, the cross hair would not be centered in the window. The roll, wouldn't even reach the extents of the window until clicking through the calibration routine and going to "test". There I could see roll through the entire range -- although turning the yoke very slowly, I could see the cross-hair incrementing across the window. Wh…

I bought one of these in March 19, 2019 and needed a second one now since it's hard to find much of anything else and I really needed it. I know these are consider 'toy' grade, but honestly for some reason the one I just bought is so much better than was the one I bought 1.7y ago even compared to when it was new. The TQ was imprecise, had a very scratchy feel to it. The new one is smooth and much more precise for both yoke and TQ. For $169 pretty decent for toy grade I am finding. And no, it's not that the old one wore out it was always pretty marginal esp the TQ. Perhaps a few parts were improved or something was wrong w/ the older one from the start. I was going…

Hi Everyone, Is anyone using the Alpha yoke with P3D v2.4? On their website they have downloads for FSX, P3D v3,4,and 5 but nothing for P3D v2.4. I suspect the drivers for FSX would work because v2.4 is so similar to FSX. I bought the yoke to use with a new build using MSFS 2020 but wanted to try it out on my current system P3D v2.4 until I get my new rig up and running which probably won't be until early Spring. Thanks- Martin
