Hello, On the PCB board, how do you tell the anode and the cathode ends of a SMD diode? My PCB has a silk screen marking of a rectangle with one end rounded and other end sharp corners. Which end is the cathode?

Well my CH Products Yoke and Throttle Quad are very long in the tooth now, I have been thinking about upgrading but not in a great rush and was just looking at the Honeycomb combo. I see it is sold out everywhere and I was wondering where all of you are purchasing from? Is it through the Honeycomb website or from a local shop? Thanks for the help.

  5. Got mine over the weekend. Overall impressed, thrust reversers feel fantastic and I've managed to program them quite well for PMDG/FSL and works great in Xplane too (so far tried the AFL KA350) Only niggle is when advancing or retarding them, you move in the desired direction and when taking your hand off they move a tiny bit back - it's not major but if anyone has any idea how to resolve it would go from a 90% to 100% device.

  6. Hi All, I've seen some people mount logitech/saitek panels ontop of their honeycomb yokes as the holes match up on both devices. The screw size however appears to be a bit of a mystery here. Does anyone know what the screw type is to do this?

Has anyone had any luck getting one of these recently? According to an email I got from Honeycomb, they sent stock out in early November but none of the resellers I have contacted since then have reported getting any of them (I pre-ordered from Sporty's in October but haven't heard anything back since then).

  8. It works fine with basic binding - but not advanced programming. A simple example: Disable the mini stick as mouse is OK - and save it. But trying to bind it in DCS is still works as a mouse. The DCS config is saved as .ual. Saitek program is different. . So , you cannot replace it. I purchased it for added possibilities with 3 modes. But for now it less than my old Logitech. Sliders and mini stick cannot bind in DCS. It just a basic joystick with a stop watch display

Hi, I am rebuilding an old Frasca simulator, which came with a Simkits RSC (Radio Stack Controller) card. The Simkits autopilot, transponder and audio units plug into it. I cannot get the autopilot display to show anything. The buttons seem to work, but the LCD does not show anything. The audio and transponder units work fine. The RSC is the new 64bit version and I am running Windows 10. The RSC link software shows everything connecting fine. Simkit support has replied to my emails, but more for asking questions and not providing any troubleshooting steps. I don't know if the card is bad, if the port is bad or if the software is not working properly. Does anybody have…

In my previous thread showing the FlyHirundo Rudder Pedal (https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/560219-flyhirundo-rudder-pedal-introduction/ ), I mentioned the development of a yoke. The yoke uses the same engineering choices as the rudder pedal: robust stainless steel construction, sealed roller bearings, widely spaced linear tracks, metal springs (no rubber bungees). Presently the yoke is not completed yet: the final design of the yoke handle and a clamp to fix to a table still have to be developed. But in the present configuration the yoke is fully functional. The yoke can be attached to a table with webbing straps, that will also be a feature of the final design.…

  11. Howdy, I am posting about what I can best guess is a combination of many known issues with this hardware. However, despite my best research efforts, I haven't seemed to find the exact solution. I am desperate and don't know what to do at this point. In fact, I have even thought about turning to Craigslist or something like that to see if there is someone locally that could assist. Okay, here's my problem. Recently, I purchased Saitek ProFlight Rudder Pedals, Yoke, and Throttle Quadrant. They were purchased second-hand, but they were out of the box new. I don't think they've been registered. My point is (1) they're not end-user defective / damaged and (2) I don't …

I was having the same problems as many people with the Twist / Rudder axis on my T16000 going haywire. It was constantly jerking to one side and not going to the other side at all. This was showing up in the Thrustmaster tool as well as MSFS 2020. I had replugged the USB connection several times, and also rebooted the PC several times, but it did not go away. It was plugged into a USB 3 port on the front of the PC case. I then moved it to a USB 2 port on the front of the case, and the problem almost went away. I then moved it to a USB 3 port on the back of the computer (i.e. one connected directly to the motherboard) and the problem seems to have gone aw…

Hi, I've bought a buttkicker but have read about several pieces of software to run it properly I'm not sure which to go for. i run xplane, P3D v4 and MSFS and ideally would like the buttkicker to work properly with all three. Ideally one piece of software would be good to do thiis. Sim shaker for aviators seems to be the all rounder but nervous to purchase something from Russia. So wondered if anyone knows of alternatives of what others use to drive their buttkickers. Opus does something but would I need both MSFS version and P3D? Thanks in advance

  16. Hi Everyone Just wondered if anyone has managed to get the Elite MEL Throttle Quadrant working in Flight Simulator 2020? Elite's technical support is little to be desired so I haven't posed the question to them yet Cheers Paul

I couldn't find where to post this so thought I'd try here. I'm having a problem activating a MS controller in MSFS . According to everything I have read and Youtube vids I have watched, plug it in and away you go. I bought it to use for working the MSFS camera mode, as we all know the default camera setup is pretty hopeless, anyway, plugged it in, nothing worked, and I cant find any helpful info anywhere. Anyone help please. Thanks Don

My ancient Throttle Quadrant is connected to the Yoke via PS/2 socket which in turn is connected to a powered USB hub. On FS2020 the Quadrant does not show up on the Controls page of the sim. Is the wiring such that I can use a PS/2 to USB adaptor. TIA

All my other payware I'm able to use this radio panel to tune my comm radios. That's really the only thing I use the panel for since it makes vatsim flying much easier. Is getting spad next the only way to get this to work with the Q400? If the answer is yes, then my question would be how easy is it to setup for q400 radios. Other question would be does this program conflict with FSUIPC? I have various aircraft specific profiles that I want to ensure are intact. thanks all

I am looking at buying this throttle quadrant but want to make absolutely sure about it, as it is a shed load of money! I would like to use it for P3D V4.5 with the NGX and also for GA use in MSFS2020. I thought it a good idea to ask on here to see if anyone has this unit and could offer their opinion. Thanks fellas.

Can some one please tell me why I loose control of the aircraft when on a flight, all of sudden the aircraft seems to be jammed or locked going on a different direction than intended. The only way to have control of the aircraft again, is to disconnect the yoke and connected it back so I can put the aircraft back on the intended coarse. P3Dv4 Win 10 Aircraft DC3 Joop

  22. Considering to get the Thrustmaster TCA Officer Pack Airbus Edition to replace my existing T16000M. I will be using it in the P3Dv5.1. But I read on the Thrustmaster's page that it is natively supported in MSF2020. Is there any workaround to support under P3D or it simply works but not mentioned in the page?

This problem started tonight... I was in the process of starting a flight when I noticed the yoke suddenly shuttering as I turned it right and as I pulled it full back and full forward. I tried switching driver ports (all the ports appear to be up to date...except one that is no longer working). I also checked to ensure that the yoke functions aren't assigned anywhere else. I am puzzled...

  24. Hi all, I wanted to share with you a small project that I started for my home desktop cockpit setup. Excuse my enthusiasm writing a so lengthy thread for my home setup and gear lever mod so feel free to skip this thread if you are not feeling bored enough for today 🙂 I would also like to share with you my idea of building a sim desktop setup as this could also inspire others who are thinking which direction to go if they are new to the hobby or rethinking their home setup. This is not a custom aircraft setup with cockpit MIP panels, I just use my ultrawide screen for viewing purposes and controls that are clumped to my desk. These are two monstertech desk m…
